Very good location, nice rooms and spa. Helpful staff.

We booked with breakfast included. However we were told at breakfast this only included continental and anything cooked was extra. This is not acceptable - if you book with breakfast would expect a cooked breakfast when paying nearly 400 per night in a 4stat hotel.

Room v good, lucky to have 2nd room with bunk beds, a real bonus- more space to spread out. Great view. Reasonable walk to town, even in wet, windy weather. The staff were, without exception quite excellent. Breakfast was good, didn't realise that the English breakfast was extra. Considering the price we feel that a cooked breakfast should have been a no-cost option. Valet parking a bonus.

Considering the price we feel that a cooked breakfast should have been a no-cost option. But not entirely unexpected in this day and age. A couple of things that should be improved/fixed before the season really starts. The taps in the bathroom need tightening. Rubber mat needed in bathroom or shown as an option if requested, also possibly a grab handle over the bath for us oldies.

lovely sea view from rear of hotel, friendly helpful staff. Nicely decorated premium room with sea views and balcony, recently refurbished bathroom was luxurious. Pleasant outdoor seating areas.

Parking was a faff but was managed as well as possible by staff under the circumstances. Staff park your car for you, there are 3 drop off points that are sometimes all occupied which means leaving your car on double yellow lines until someone parks it for you, which was a little worrying until you got the hang of things. We paid for premium room which had balcony and sea views. The room was reached by two small flights of stairs which was awkward with suitcases, it would have been nice if help was offered. Some rooms do not have very nice views so beware of this when booking. There was a wedding on our final day so the downstairs terrace was out of bounds which was annoying as this was one of the pathways down to beach. It was also a little noisy but luckily didn’t go on too late

This Hotel is really lovely. Its location is a bit of a walk from the town its also up/down hill to the beach. we liked the location if you had mobility issues this is Not for you. The morning staff were really lovely, very friendly & helpful. front desk staff were fine, (nothing extra). A few of the bar staff were a little less helpful. it appeared they were understaffed & stressed. one gent in particular was quiet rude. we were looking for something to eat on a late avo & he did not want to help, a lovely young blonde girl picked up on his attitude & offered to speak to the chef. The out door area needs attention, cleaning tables after people leave, straightening the furniture. It just lacked that bit of quality. Our room was lovely. the view is excellent. More attention needs to be paid to explaining the lift... You must close the door for it to activate. so many people just got out & walked away form it. So if your on the 4th floor (which we were) you so often couldn't call the lift as it was open downstairs. We were never told this, so I presume others weren't either. Just detail

The location is perfect and views unmatched. We booked two nights and attended a wedding at the hotel which is so idyllic and can see why the couple chose this venue. The rooms were clean and well laid out with all the expected extras of a fan, mini fridge, Iron, hair dryer etc, and we were impressed with the gin and tonics which was a lovely touch for all guests to enjoy in their rooms. I must mention we had a room which was directly above the spa so we could smell the pool in the corridor, but not in the room. Unfortunately The heat was quite uncomfortable in the room, we avoided going to the room until necessary and the fan provided didn't do much at all. Maybe air con in the rooms above the spa would be advantageous as it was very hot in there with heat, and we were road facing so no breeze from the small window. Our friends stayed in a sea facing room with Large windows and the breeze was very welcome - it seems front facing rooms above the spa had the issue with the temperature management. We didn't eat meals in the venue as we explored locally, but we did attend breakfast which was only continental included, think for the price paid per night the cooked breakfasts should have also been included but the continental did offer variety and was lovely. The wedding breakfast was incredible - the best food and menu choices we have had as wedding guests. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. When we arrived a member of staff valet parked our car for us and was nice to know it was safe until departure. we also arrived a little early so they took our bags and put them into our rooms before we came back for check in. All in all the stay was really enjoyable, but advice when booking would be to choose a sea facing room for some air and a good night's sleep.

For the price paid per night, i was dissapointed to find the inclusive breakfasts were only continental and the cooked breakfasts were extra. I must also mention we had a room which was directly above the spa so we could smell the pool in the corridor, but not in the room. Unfortunately The heat was quite uncomfortable in the room, we avoided going to the room until late and necessary and the fan provided didn't do much at all. Maybe air con in the rooms above the spa would be advantageous as it was very hot in there with heat, and we were road facing so no breeze from the small window.

Great hotel, generally well run by a friendly team. Lovely location. Though the walk back up the hill from town or beach may put some people off. The inclusive continental breakfast was plenty for me, and there was also a cooked breakfast option. Great view from the dining room of the Porthminster beach.

I didn't notice the double glazing was not closed properly and had stuck. So on the first morning of my stay I was wakened by the traffic noise as the sound proofing was not working. I pointed this out to the desk and it was fixed immediately. A fire alarm went off at 4 am on the second night. It was false alarm but I couldn't sleep after that.

The ambiance of the hotel is fantastic! It's a boutique hotel, stylish, colourful, and pleasant to stay at for any reason: in the room, in the bar, restaurant, spa, lobby, and, of course, a lovely terrace with a picturesque ocean view. Spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, ocean view. The sandy Porthminster Beach is just a 5-minute walk. Breakfast includes everything you need; you can also order eggs in addition to the buffet. I had a fantastic time at the spa, which features a pool, two saunas, and a jacuzzi. I also had a great massage. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the town center, offering a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants. They have a car park, which is good regarding the lack of parking spaces in town.

The buffet food could be of better quality. More space between the bed and the wall would be great.

Location, views, staff were lovely. Spa facilities were very good

Unfortunately our fresh bedding had multiple dark hairs in it!…& a soiled pillowcase. Housekeeping was very good but did lack hugely on the hard floor surfaces. Tasty food & very accommodating to needs but evening meal & breakfast weren’t overly hot.

The standard breakfast was a continental breakfast and hot items were available but at an additional cost of £10.00 which seems a little penny-pinching to me. I paid a £30 supplement for a room with a sea view which was excellent value - the room itself was much roomier and the en-suite was not only much bigger but so was the bath and shower. I would willingly have paid the additional premium for a second night in the room with the sea view but there were none available. All the staff were charming, very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel was located at the top of an extremely steep hill which was easy to go down to the resort centre and harbour but quite physically demanding to negotiate on the way back up. However a taxi could be hired at an extremely reasonable price. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be recommending this hotel to friends and family. One negative was the absolutely awful music played in the bars and lounges! It was really irritating.

The awful music mentioned above was on a loop and repeated over and over!A

Contemporary style decor. Continental breakfast included in room rate with various cooked options only £10 extra. Ricotta soufflé omelet particularity good. Restauraunt food and selection of wines very good. Staff approachable and competent - both front of house and housekeeping. Well kept hotel and spa. Handy location for Porthminster beach and bars/cafe’s. 15-20 minute walk to St Ives harbour and seafront depending on pace and direction.

Travelled by rail and it would have be useful for the path from the rail station to the hotel ( a choice of two possible routes) to have been signposted. We picked the wrong path up the hill which would have been treacherous in wet weather.. Room 116 is by the steps to the spa and looks out over the road but seaview rooms were not on offer at the time of booking.
