Amazing hosts/owners, location was brilliant for St Ives and to get around the island. Breakfast is cooked to order so it is always hot and fresh, easy parking, train station located within 3 mins walk, good water pressure in shower, tables and chairs outside to sit and relax, beds comfortable . Additional: We booked into the twin room and asked if we could have the beds move together, this was done by the owners before we arrived and were happy to help

On arrival we received a hearty welcome from both Martin and Margaret. They showed us to our room which was at the top of the house, with sloping ceilings and an amazing view of Carbis Bay. The room was charming and spotlessly clean, it had a very comfy bed and lovely bed linen. There is plenty of choice for breakfast - which was cooked fresh to order - and delicious. The location was amazing - 5 mins down the local path to the beach and there was plenty of parking. Margaret and Martin were full of local knowledge and tips and did everything with a smile. We would return there again in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely home. The place was incredibly clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Its location was perfect—just a short walk from the station, which made getting around really easy. The area was peaceful but still close to great spots for food and sightseeing. We also really appreciated the thoughtful local recommendations, which helped us make the most of our time there. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Borthalan House was fantastic. Martin and Margaret are brilliant hosts and made us feel very welcome. The room was exceptionally comfortable and the way the place is run means that you feel like you are at home. Breakfast is great. It is all freshly cooked and plentiful. Martin and Margaret really care about their guests and take time each day to check-in to ensure that everyone is ok and have what they need. They are a font of knowledge of local restaurants and places to visit. The location of the guest house is fantastic. It is a few minutes walk from the train station, the bus and the beach. In summary, I would definitely recommend Borthalan House and would love to return when back in the area.

No information in the room about local attractions, services. No top sheet and duvet very hot synthetic mix. Breakfast very late ie not available until 9 am.

The hosts were amazing. Friendly and helpful, full of tips. I grew up in the area but staying at Borthalan House made the holiday extra special. The breakfasts every morning were perfect, the location was perfect and the cleanliness of the whole house was unbeatable. My partner and I couldn't have been happier and it added to a lovely weekend away. Will definitely book again if the opportunity arises!

Absolutely nothing to dislike!

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the hosts welcoming. Our room was a good size and had in it all we needed including 2 comfortable arm chairs. There was a nicely decorated guest loune area and the brakfast room was light and airy with big windows and all seperate tables. The breakfast was well cooked and presented and a number of choices each day.There was a lovely garden with chairs and tables to sit out.

The hotel was difficult to find in a maze of roads down from the main road. The location was fine when reached but there was quite a hill down to the train and beach but both were reached quite quickly and easily. The shower room was small and a bit cramped but clean with a sink ,toilet and shower cubicle.

We are 2 large (18 stone ) people, so the shower as powerful as it is was just a tad small, normal size people it would be perfect

I have never felt so welcome by anyone at a b&b/hotel before! Margaret and Martin are so friendly, helpful and lovely to chat to. They make you feel so at home, make the most delicious breakfasts and are so helpful when it comes to advice about the local areas. The room was really comfortable and we had everything we needed for our short stay. Our view from the room of the bay was gorgeous and it was so easy to get to the local train station. An absolutely wonderful stay - would recommend this beautiful place to everyone! Thank you Margaret and Martin!!!!

The hosts were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were very knowledgeable about the surroundings. The shower was so invigorating!

We had a garden overlooking the back of the property. Hence there wasn't a view. Would have preferred a front of house view. But this is all they had left at the time of the booking so we had to take this room.
