Dave and Jackie were just the perfect hosts anyone could have hoped for, always around and available, and respected our privacy at all times. We stayed for 2 nights and thought we really made the best decision after seeing the chaos in St. Ives and the very, very narrow roads, etc. Our room was comfortable and clean, and there was great parking. We did not feel like going out one night, and Jackie organized with her chef to make us dinner. That was awesome. The breakfast is a must. Everything is freshly and properly cooked. There is also a lovely lounge with a fireplace next to the bar. I also enjoyed having a glass of wine in the sunny garden. A real gem of a place.

Stayed with my dad and brother for a trip to see relatives. Fantastic rooms, great staff, superb breakfast/meals. Would 100% stay again. If you are gluten free this hotel absolutely caters for you. On arrival we received a very friendly greeting from the owners, who were just as friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay, I was immediately told that they had gone and bought gluten free bread for the breakfast(as I had messenger them prior to arrival to let them know I was gluten free) and also checked all the ingredients for the hot breakfast items and informed what I can and can’t have - this immediately put me at ease and was very appreciated and was a very nice touch for them to be so considerate about it. As for the room, comfy beds, lovely bathroom, clean, room cleaning/fresh towels etc available on request. We stayed for three nights and for two we ended up eating in at the hotel in the evening, including the really fantastic Sunday dinner which I would very much recommend. Very attentive staff/owners and really friendly, the type of people you’d happily sit and have a pint with. As for the location, it’s great for St Ives, I’ve seen a few reviews where people have said it’s “out of the way” it’s either a very short drive, or a taxi which for us was £12 each way for when we wanted to have a drink. Or, you can drive to the very nearby park and ride and take the train into St Ives for much cheaper. The breakfast was superb, easily one of the best we’ve had at a hotel, a really fantastic continental selection of pastries, juice, teas, coffee, waffles, jams, cereal etc and the hot breakfast was very very good - on the last day we woke up at around half 8 and got down to the breakfast area for about 10 to 9. No issue at all and breakfast was still served for us without any complaint from the staff/owners at all.

Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. The Hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming — nothing was too much trouble for them, and they made us feel right at home. The breakfast was fresh and had a great variety of choices every morning. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The location is perfect — only 5 to 10 minutes from the city, and the free parking was a great bonus. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting St Ives.

The couple who run the inn were friendly and accommodating. They made breakfast to order and nothing was too much trouble. Situated in a pleasant location with a lot of outdoor space for relaxing. Good parking in the property grounds.

The tap for the bathroom sink could be higher so less awkward when washing hands. The shower glass on the bath could be wider to keep splashes in the bath and less on the floor. For H&S a hand rail for stepping out of the bath from the shower would be helpful.

The room was spacious and clean. The location was perfect—close to major attractions yet peaceful and quiet. It included all the essentials such as comfortable bedding,Wi-Fi, TV, bathroom with toiletries and some complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the room. The breakfast was also great, it has well-organized dining area with attentive staff. David and Jacque are so warm and approachable. Thanks to them we had a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend staying here, it’s worth every penny. Parking is also available.

David and Jackie were excellent, friendly hosts who made sure we knew to ask if we needed anything. The room was clean and spacious with decent bathroom and storage. Lots of room to park and very close to so many wonderful scenic areas. Cooked breakfast was also excellent.

We were just surprised that despite staying 3 nights the room was not attended to. We always keep our room tidy but generally expect that things you use are cleaned or replenished. Not a major thing but for 170 a night some touches like water in the room would be good.

What a wonderful place to stay in St Ives! It’s only a short 5-minute drive, and a £12 taxi fare makes it so convenient. The value for money is incredible, especially with so much open space to enjoy. But what truly makes this place special are the owners; they are such lovely, polite people who genuinely care about their guests. I had a truly heartwarming experience staying there!

The suite was very clean with a comfortable bed.Plenty of pillows and towels. The breakfast was a good varied choice and served hot. All other breakfast accoutrements were available in the nice and light breakfast dining area. The lounge area was cosy with a roaring log burner and well stocked bar. Dave and Jackie were excellent hosts giving us advice on visiting St Ives.

The Countryman was in a good location and we liked that it was in the countryside with a garden. We appreciated having lots of room to park. Our room was comfortable with a good sized bed and lots of storage. Even though the property is beside the road it wasn’t noisy. We enjoyed the tasty breakfasts and the tea tray in our bedroom was useful. Our hosts were friendly and very helpful.

The only thing really was the electric shower which we were not good at adjusting. Also for me the spiders in the bath - but that’s my phobia! - I have the same problem here at home. Definitely the outside and garden area could be tidied up and reception areas could do with some updating sometime in the future.

Hosts were amazing. Breakfast was the best we have had. Beautiful accommodation with great facilities. Hosts were accommodating, couldn't do more.

I like everything nothing negative.
