Very smart and clean. Extraordinarily friendly staff from management down to all levels. Very nice bedroom and plenty of hot water in the shower. Breakfast is excellent and lots of choice. Restaurant area is spacious and smart. Lounge is welcoming and beautifully decorated. A lovely boutique hotel.

Parking needs some supervision or marked bays as very hit and miss with a few guests needing education! Restaurant is understandably open to the public so priority should be to residents in my opinion as there is a large overspill car park available.

Great location! Friendly staff! Very helpful reception staff! Liked being able to use the facilities at the Carbis Bay Hotel. Lovely lounge areas and great food at both breakfast and dinner.

The cosy room was very nice but felt a little cluttered with the armchair being in front of the wardrobe. It made it awkward to easily access clothes. The tea tray on the ‘dressing table’ was also inconvenient as sat there to blow dry hair. The drawers in the bedside tables and dressing table were very small and didn’t open/close smoothly. The toilet roll holder was very inconveniently placed in the bathroom in relation to the toilet.

Hotel was beautifully well appointed. Rooms were spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast. Staff were very welcoming and very helpful throughout. Hotel was also ideally situated for trips into St. Ives using either the railway or the local buses, which stop virtually outside the hotel. The hotel provided a convenient and relaxed retreat from the hustle and bustle St Ives.

Only issue really that didn't appeal to us was the sports bar located on the ground floor of the hotel extension. It's not really somewhere that we would wish to go. However, it was clearly popular with some of the other residents and we do understand the hotel perhaps needs something like this to generate income during the quieter months.

Good quality rooms with lovely decor and excellent ensuite and dressing room with tea and coffee making facilities. The chefs' homemade biscuits are legendary! The food at breakfast was excellent and of a very high standard. I thought the restaurant bar food and the drinks were a bit on the pricey side for the options that were there, albeit very well presented and cooked. A few more options for mains would have been appreciated. Overall, I would recommend this as a good place to stay. I paid £170 pp per night bed and breakfast and was located at the inn, which is separated from the main hotel to access the restaurant to eat our breakfast and use the lounge access to relax dine etc. I wouldn't have said it was excellent value for money purely because I have paid less per night in a 5-star hotel with better facilities in better locations. However, despite this, I would still recommend this as a very comfortable friendly place to stay. Staff were all excellent, very welcoming, and delivered a great service. Thank you for a lovely stay

Price and the fact that the inn where we slept did not have any communal areas to use apart from the small bar where it would appear to have been used by non staying guests.

The location of the hotel was very good, a 10min walk to the beach, close to the train station and bus stop for very easy access to St Ives or alternatively you can stroll 45mins along the Coastal Path. We stayed in the Gannet House, which is 2 doors down from the main building. On the ground floor of the house is the pub so we were a bit apprehensive about noise, but we needn’t have been as we couldn’t hear anything from our room. The room itself was very nice, with a very comfortable bed and an excellent large en suite. The breakfast was extremely good, the staff were very accommodating and friendly.

Potentially a heads up ahead of our arrival that the room we booked wasn’t in the main building would have been appreciated.

Good breakfast, dinner was a little disappointing as the pastry on the pie was very solid and hard but the veggies were very well cooked and it all tested excellent.

As a twin room the beds were far too close…felt like one bed with single duvets. We may have been friends but that was definitely too cosy! The security light outside was very bright and, because of the blind at the window which needed to be up a little to let air in , was very annoying. I understand not every view is perfect but this one was terrible….perhaps a living roof on the flat roof might help the grimness.

Staff very welcoming. Restaurant, breakfast and dinner very good. Overall, everything was very good. Location perfect for where we need to be. Bed very comfortable.

We were on the second floor and therefore had 3 flights of steps to get up and down. Room was very small, very little space around the bed. Not the hotel's fault but some people parking where it makes it difficult to either get past or maneuver around.

We had a great time at The Gannet Inn. The room was clean and with ample space. We requested a two-single bed, and the hotel arranged this for us without a problem. The bathroom was clean and great. My friend and I both enjoyed the shower cap very much. The room rate included breakfast, and we also had our dinner at the hotel. Their meals were wonderful; we loved them very much. We visited St Michael Mount on the next day, and the staff was very helpful in calling a taxi for us, saving us time. Overall, we loved the place.

It's a little far from the St Ives train station so we have to take the bus to the hotel. However, it's only a 10-minute bus drive, so it's OK with us.

Welcoming and attentive staff on the whole. Comfortable seating area . Good dining and breakfast facilities. Car parking available. Public transport nearby for exploring the area without having to drive and park ( usually difficult in St Ives itself at peak holiday times)

Had problems with plumbing in the first room we were offered ( we were moved to another room which had a different plumbing problem which was not resolved during our stay although the staff were informed and we believe that they tried )

Staff were exceptional with the two ladies at reception just amazing. I arrived with a little bit of an issue (nothing to do with hotel) and they were just so empathetic and lovely. Food was amazing, prices a little higher than the norm, but the food was so worth it. All the staff, no matter how young, were just class acts! The only issue I had was that we were only here for one night. Can’t recommend this place too highly.
