Where do I start , a very odd set up , the main house itself is very dated , with loads of antique furniture. The pics of the pool on the website are very misleading, it’s more like a large bath and definitely not heated , and the few plastic sunbeds and cushions need replacing immediately. We stayed in room 3 , a pod on the back , and it was very nice , with lovely decking to enjoy the nature and quiet surroundings. The breakfast and the staff were very nice . We really enjoyed it , but with a bit more care and attention to detail it could be absolutely beautiful . Someone needs to spend some money on it , and make it a glamping / camping paradise, with a hired out venue for weddings/ parties etc in the main house
The hot tub was broken , no fridge in our room , you had to use a communal one in the garden

The half moon cabin we stayed in was perfect and cosy, the breakfast was enjoyable and we loved the hot tub and the pool. It was so peaceful and the grounds were tidy and beautiful.
The only down fall we had was the bath and shower in the cabin, the shape of the bath looked so inviting but once in it, it wasn't as the plug was in the middle and kept sitting on it which then the water would start disappearing. The water from the bath tap ran so slowly also. The next day we had a shower and the shower head needed a good descale and again the water kept running cold one minute and boiling hot the next never did find the right temperature. Other than this we absolutely loved it.

I don't think we expected our room to be in the garden but it was a good size with an area for sitting separate from the bedroom. This hotel has a very large garden which is great when the weather is fine and we enjoyed the small swimming pool. There is a feeling that the hotel is well-aged but this makes it different from a modern hotel. We ordered our breakfast as soon as we arrived which is a bit inflexible but it was delicious when it arrived with very friendly service.
The place is slightly run-down but overall the experience was good.

An amazing stay in a charming old house! Full of character and exactly as shown in the pictures. The owner and staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for my daughter and I. We spent most of the time in the heated pool and hot tub in the beautiful grounds. We visited the owners restaurant called The Dome in Christchurch, which was amazing and we loved the delicious food. We truly couldn't have asked for a more perfect ending to a week long holiday. Thank you so much, Cedar House!!! We will be back!
I honestly can't find fault.

My partner and I stayed overnight for our anniversary and our stay was amazing! We loved everything about it, from the beautiful scenery, all the amenities (including a heated swimming pool which was very lovely), the staff were also so nice and welcoming. The owner was super friendly and very accommodating. Couldn’t have asked for better service. The breakfast was also very tasty, we left feeling refreshed. Would recommend this place for couples, families, and even a group of friends! It felt very private and peaceful.
There was nothing bad about the property.

The hosts were very friendly. Attended to us well. The pool is on the smaller side but big enough for a family of 4. Couldn't pull the cover all the way back as it was full of water. Hot tub was great. Breakfast was very good.
The shower was a little dodgy... wouldn't stay warm and standing in the tub was a little difficult. The main water tap just dripped rather than coming out normal. Bed linen had a few marks on but was super comfy.

Staff and hosts were brilliant, welcoming and friendly. Grounds were amazing and included a small heated pool which was great for dipping in. Superb hot tub and sauna was available for an extra £10 charge. Outdoor fridge/freezer was a great addition for storing drinks and picnic food. Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful. Cooked fresh and ready for when you sit down at your requested time.
Our bed in our room (Papillion) was very comfortable but did appear to dip in the middle...a minor issue.

The staff were excellent, breakfast lovely. Really lovely to have the pool, hot tub. The size of the rooms and facilities in room were superb and the showers were great. The grounds were very well looked after. It was a lovely setting and would love to visit again.
Only slight needs a little TLC of cosmetic touch up in places, but that did not detract from an excellent stay.

Went for 1 night ,as a surprise to my partner. We were very impressed with the accommodation. As it was off the main roads, it gave us a wonderful relaxing place to enjoy. The gardens are beautiful, with the original cedar tree still in place. Dates back to 17th century. The owner Chris was very nice and informative. The lovely housekeep Datora was extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble for her,her breakfast was plentiful, wow . Thank you very much Cedar House boutique. We will return. Best wishes from Marion and Duncan

A peaceful setting in very comfortable surroundings, small pool, sauna and jacuzzi for guests to use on a first come first served basis Pleasant historic home for breakfast which was plentiful and very good. Very comfortable bed and nice facilities, staff and proprietor were very pleasant and helpful.
The shower is one of those freezing/scorching types popular in British hotels where having a shower is as tense as diffusing a bomb and a few of the light switches/lights worked intermittently. Would have been nice to have been able to open a window during the night and the lamps are rather dim to read by
