A Peaceful and Comfortable Stay I stayed at Melbourne Lodge during a recent business trip and was really impressed. The setting is peaceful and picturesque—perfect for unwinding after a busy day—and the rooms are spacious, clean, and full of character. The team were friendly and helpful without being overbearing, and everything from check-in to check-out was smooth and easy. I also appreciated the short walk to the on-site restaurant, which served excellent food in a beautiful setting. If you’re travelling for work but want something more relaxed and personal than a standard hotel, Melbourne Lodge is a great option. I’ll definitely stay again next time I’m in the area.

The stunning grounds. The beautiful room & the food was very nice.

Unfortunately the bar staff were very inexperienced. We asked about a cocktail & were told they don't do them. The bar man got nervous. I then looked at the selection behind the bar & questioned it again. I asked for a espresso martini & he said I would be charged for each individual drink, so it would be very expensive! There is massive room for improvement. The glasses on show in the bar were dirty, dead flies on the window sills on the way to the snooker room. That's what I just noticed glancing about!

My goodness, what a place. The most beautiful setting with hundreds of acres of greenery, ancient oaks and plane trees just by the side of the drive, Japanese cherry trees in blossom, a view from the lodge over the lake and a magnificent old bridge that was just stunning. Polite golfers going quietly about their thing. Delightful, friendly, courteous staff that were worth the price of the room by itself. Fluffy towels, a deep bath, lovely toiletries. And a meal outside by the lake that makes me smile now. Honestly, I felt like royalty.

The little kettle in the room was slow to switch off when boiling.

Breakfast was super and lots of choice from freshly cooked dishes. The setting (sunny morning) for the breakfast terrace (golf club house) was stunning. We ate also at the restaurant (Auberge du Lac)across the lake , a very memorable experience for all the right reasons (albeit not cheap - but worth it for an evening)...in all the stay was the quintessentially the perfect location for the weekend getaway.

the golf club bar could have been open a little later (for a Saturday night- think it closed at 20:00ish)..not that i used it in the evening (as we dined at the Auberge) but it might not be to liking over eveyone...

Location was 5 star. Scenery amazing and very quiet at night . Club House breakfast was excellent. I did only stay 1 night so can't rate any other meals at the Club house. I know that the main restaurant is available to book if you want it.

gorgeous deep country house style bath with shower over would have been to difficult for me to use. A clever design tweak of this area, in keeping with the Country house style would make a huge difference

Lovely grounds. Spacious. Large room with twin beds as asked. Good location. Quiet environment. Handy for road connections. Ample parking, appreciate not being charged to park on site. Car felt safe as well away from public roads.

Breakfast costly for what it was. Pastries too sweet. Instructions to get in could be clearer. Mattress felt old and was too soft; could feel the springs which was a shame for overall experience.

The Lodge is set in lovely grounds with lots of different walking path. The room was comfortable and the shower water was hot. Ground coffee and tea with fresh milk were available in the room. We ate good food at the golf club.

The entry instructions are complicated and we had to wait for a car to come out in order to go in as no one answered the entry push button.

Wonderful views across the estate Nicely decorated and spacious rooms Love rooms named after racehorses- ours was Nijinsky and we had a painting of the horse on the wall.

Minor thing - we could hear folks walking around in the room upstairs. But we would stay again. Sad that the Auberge du Lac restaurant was closed.

Lovely room in a middle of the golf. Old and Stylish room with a nice bathroom. Quiet place good for a rest after a long day

Very much lacking direction. Access is not that easy and I got lost on my arrival because it was dark. No clear sign for reception and accommodation but the staff was very helpful. Unfortunately the bar was closed when I came, which was not great.

Lovely green location. The room was very comfortable especially the bed. A little dated but still wonderful. The tea and coffee making facilities were good and I was provided with extras when I ashed. The bathroom was very comfortable with twin sinks, a fabulous bath and lovely bathroom products. Bath robes were also provided. Plenty of wardrobe space.

There is no fridge or safe in the room.
