We only stayed for one night, and honestly, we wished we could have stayed longer. The location is absolutely gorgeous, with expansive grounds, lovely gardens, and a peaceful lake that creates a perfect backdrop for relaxation. Our room was beautifully appointed and felt so inviting, making it feel like a real retreat. The staff were genuinely friendly and eager to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was a highlight—delicious and served quickly. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would like to come back for a longer stay!

I always enjoy staying at St Michael’s Manor. The staff are all charming and helpful, feels like they’re well trained, especially at Reception and in dining room. It’s great to stay somewhere where you feel comfortable and looked after. I appreciate old fashioned touches such as real keys for rooms which work (not plastic cards, apps and QR codes which don’t work); good quality tea and coffee provisions in rooms; bath tubs in many of the bathrooms (hard to find these days). Attention to detail is good.

The location so close to the historic heart of St. Albans, the grounds, the character of the property, the warm professionalism of the staff and the secure onsite parking.

A large conference group checked-in to St. Michael's Manor on our second night. Their presence reduced areas of the hotel available to us and we lost access to the conservatory breakfast room and the beautiful terrace - a disappointment, and we felt rather neglected

Beautiful property which is adjacent to Verulamium Park and a short walk to the center of town. The breakfast room is lovely and the breakfast delicious, with a good selection of made to order hot choices. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the front desk staff.

The wifi is very weak in the room, to the point that I had to leave in order to do a work call.

Brilliant breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, lovely room with a very comfy bed and a fantastic shower and bath. Grounds of the hotel was also stunning, and it was ideally located for exploring the city centre, abbey and the Roman ruins.

I love staying at the property. I am a St.Albans boy born and bred and I just love going back to see this beautiful property. Every time I go back more memories come back and I just love the surroundings. I stayed for my 74th birthday and had the most wonderful time. Thank you to the lovely young lady on reception that made my stay even more incredible. She upgraded me to one of the rooms which has a balcony that looks out onto the beautiful gardens. I’d like to thank her once again for making my birthday, so special, and all the staff that looked after me at breakfast. Once again, thank you
