I absolutely love the history attached to accommodation such as this. A 16th century coaching house retaining some original fixtures but providing comfort and the mod cons expected. I booked 3 nights as a solo traveller to meet up with old friends. My room was perfect. Clean, warm, comfortable and quiet. Staff on the whole really very helpful especially the two Hungarian housekeepers who went out over and above helping me with questions I had. (Marcia and Esther ?).
Not a lot I didn’t like. Breakfast regime I wasn’t sure about as I was only one in the breakfast room on my first day and I was completely ignored for 15 mins although I sat close to the bar. The one member of staff was solely focused on her monitor for some reason. . (thought I must be invisible 🤷♀️). After that more people went to breakfast and I realised they were going to counter to order so was ok but just a point Alisha. People don’t always know what they are supposed to do so a quick hello and explanation would have been welcome. Food was fine though.

Located in old Hemel, 5 minutes drive from the hospital. I parked on the street at the back, on the street as I was advised to when I booked with no issues. It’s a characterful place with access to nice independent restaurants, historic buildings a few doors along, with a big park a short walk away. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and spacious, had AC and a very comfy bed. Nice eggs and coffee in the morning, and easy check out.
Not a lot, it was really nice. Obviously due to location the parking is limited. I tried the car park up the street, but wasn’t sure if I could leave my vehicle there overnight. Fortunately there was street parking at the back, as I had been advised there could be. Perhaps a little more info about the parking options?

The accommodation is set separately behind the pub with its own access so quiet at night! Room was cosy. Bed excellent and very comfy. Largish bathroom with good shower. Air conditioning heating - which was fabulous once we'd read the instructions! Standard pub fare on site. Breakfast in the pub was very good with a range of cooked options. Location was on the old town high street. Worth a morning walk and down to Gadbridge Park. Brilliant find was a Thai restaurant on the high street, a 1 minute walk (Chiang Mai Cottage). Great value, lovely staff and busy on a Sunday night! Overall would be happy to stay again!

Amazing location, staff were fantastic, especially Dotty at breakfast! Facilities were great.
The only thing I can complain about was the cleaning. The room was OK, beds clean and bathroom clean. However, the doors were grubby and walls too. Everywhere could have been 10 out of 10 if there was a little attention to detail, all it will take is a wipe down of the busy areas of the room like doors walls and light switches. Bathroom water pressure was poor, but given the age of the building I imagine it is difficult to improve on.

Air conditioning was very welcome! Room was cosy and clean, bed was very comfortable. We had a bite to eat (pizza each) in the evening which were both lovely. Great nights sleep was had by all (including the dog) and it was very quiet overnight during our stay. Breakfasts - omelette and a full English - were excellent and cleans plates left behind. Brilliant location just across from a very nice park and being on the high street there is a good choice of cafés, pubs and eateries very close by. Staff were all lovely too!

Located centrally in the old town, but with parking nearby, this pub with rooms was excellent value. The room was spacious and beds comfortable. The hospitality tray had a selection of teas as well as coffee, and oat milk alongside dairy was a nice surprise. The breakfast had several options including full English, and included in the room rate. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we were made welcome in the pub by staff and regular customers. A lovely base from which to explore, a compact high street and park alongside, and cheap parking nearby. Rooms have air conditioning/heating systems, and are quiet.
Our accessible room decor was tired. The wetroom had a lack of hooks or places to put clothes or toiletries so they didn't get wet, and the controls took some working out (maybe the room information could include instructions?) We were unable to get hot water in the sink.

The staff who welcomed us and then served us in the morning (both young men) were lovely and welcoming and so helpful - the man on check in helped us with our bags which was great. Brilliant location, bed comfortable, shower roomy and not in a bath. Breakfast was large and freshly cooked and you could chose what you wanted if you wanted a different combination to what was on the menu. Stairs are steep but handrails were secure so easy to navigate.
The walls in Room 8 were very cobwebby - they had been there a while as were black, so a wipe down of the walls, or a dust, needs to be done. Bathroom suite starting to look a bit tired and the shower tray took a long time to drain.

Had a wonderful stay for the second time at the olde kings arms. The hotel is cosy and comfortable as ever. The staff are fantastic and incredibly helpful! We were a late night check in (and with a poorly 11yr old) food/takeaway options were offered. We were pointed in the direction where I could pick up some lemsip near by. Such a warm and friendly welcome from the start! Our room was clean and comfortable! Breakfast was utterly delicious and again the staff truly went above and beyond.
The flush button was missing and the tap was a little temperamental but nothing more than general wear n tear and a complete none issue!

The Olde Kings Arms is an historic, medieval building dating back to Henry VIII. This means low ceilings and old character beams and lintels. It is even rumoured to host a couple of ghosts. Despite keeping a keen lookout we didn't see any. The accommodation is located above the pub that sells real ale and a good food menu. An excellent breakfast was included in the booking that was first class and the staff are friendly and accommodating. It is located at the heart of the old High Street, full of character, cafe's, antique shops and pubs with a beautiful park nearby. Parking is at a nearby public car park that, unusually was rediculously cheap. This is great place to stay just outside London.. We will be staying here again.
Nothing to mention.

Amazing place, we loved "genius loci" of this old-time coaching inn. Its location in the old town could not be better. Andrew gave us a warm welcome and led us to the room. We really liked the comfortable beds, white, clean bathroom with continental faucets, wide selection of in-room teas and hearty breakfast (choice of several hot meals instead of buffet was a pleasant change). Willingness of staff exceeded our expectation!!! My daughter, who traveled for top sport event was injured. For many reasons I was unable to arrange transfer to hospital myself. Completely desperate I call the hotel. I reached the bar in very busy hour (they just had a big event there), however the guys began to act immediately - they arranged couple of taxi transfers for us, provided enough of ice for cooling and all of them have been very supportive till the end of our stay. My daughter appreciated very much the pep talk of the gentleman from housekeeping (btw. providing very attentive service). Thank you for all! We will definitely come again next year.
There could be a shelf in the wardrobe.
