Nice room with a view of the river.

Wind whistling under the door, no restaurant and not a great choice of bar food, however there is a fantastic pub just across the road that does great food.

Location was perfect for us and the room was perfect- spacious and clean! Breakfast was lovely and staff where really proactive! Came over to take our order and food was delivered to table soon after. Parking wasnt an issue although would have thought there would be a zebra crossing between the reception area and main accomodation unit Felt a little unsafe to cross with the entrance off the main road right there

Room was a little dated Outdoor space overlooking the water also needed a little love, maybe a lick of decking treatment Rather than 1 double mattress, it was two single mattresses

The welcome was very warm. The towels were clean and soft. The bed linen was clean and fresh. The tea, coffee, biscuits etc in room were good. The TV in the room was modern and a decent size. The service at breakfast was very good. The English breakfast was freshly cooked The rate for a night is very good. There is no fee for parking which is charged by a big chain hotel nearby. There is a good pub opposite.

The hotel is dated and needs capital investment, replacement of carpets and upgrades of rooms. Coffee and pastries could be improved. Lidl do better croissants and pain au chocolat.

The staff were very welcoming. We were taken up to our room. Everything was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Good WiFi connection. The room had heating and air con and one window opened. We overlooked the river which I’d requested (but maybe all the rooms do). Shower room well-equipped, and shower stall roomy. Shower a good temperature and shampoo, shower gel and lotion provided. Lovely fluffy towels.

Although the room was very clean the carpet was stained. Pillows were hard for us, though who doesn’t like their own pillows? I might have asked for softer pillows had we stayed another night. Weather was rubbish so I’d like the hotel to improve that in future :)

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was well laid out with all the facilities we required. The furnishings were modern, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was cooked to order; this meant you had to wait a little time, but it was worth it as it was cooked perfectly. The location, right on the river, is unique and very pretty. We were very pleased we chose this hotel for an overnight stop.

Sadly the external parts of the building are badly in need of cosmetic repair. They do not match the good standard of the internal decoration.

A warm welcome from Ali on reception. Showed me to my room and even offered to carry my case up the stairs! Room was warm with the heating on when I arrived. The room was immaculately clean , well furnished and very comfortable. The huge bed was also very comfortable. Bathroom was modern and again spotless with toiletries, hand wash and tissues all provided. Can't comment on the food/drink as I didn't eat here. Few small stains on the carpet but that didn't bother me as everything else was more than I expected!

There wasn't anything I didn't like during my stay! Ideal location for my needs in a very nice area.

The staff were amazing. From the manager to the cleaners. I ended up at the last minute having to take part in an Employment Tribunal via Zoom from my hotel room along with 2 others. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. I also slightly injured myself (bumped my head, my own fault). As I was there on my own I went out to Reception to get help and they couldn't do enough for me. They even pumped up my flat tyre! They were very kind and professional. They made what could have been a disastrous stay into a surprisingly good experience. The kindness of strangers....

The hotel itself is a bit tired looking, but the current owners have only had it for a year they tell me and they're putting their all into making a go of it. The lack of up-to-date fashion is more than made up for by the friendliness of the staff.

Good-sized room with a nice nook by the window to sit on the sill. Clean bathroom, good wi-fi, excellent breakfast, nice location by a river to stroll along in the evening. Cool pubs nearby to have dinner at. The staff were accommodating and allowed us to put our bikes in the room for the night. Honestly, I think the score does not reflect the value you get from this nice hotel.

My only observation was that the carpets needed a thorough cleaning. Also, the location is a bit remote, so you would need a car to get there (or bikes, as in our case).

Room looked newly refurbished. Very comfortable bed and very good pillows.. The heating had been put on as it was a cold day so room lovely and warm. Lovely view of river from the lovely window seat. Breakfast was amazing. Choice of cooked or continental or both. Good quality food, excellent sized portions, served freshly cooked and quickly. Staff very friendly and helpful especially the young lady who worked in the breakfast room, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is used by a number of contractors but this was not detrimental to our stay in any way. .

There was a low humming noise, which being a poor sleepers was more noticeable to me during the night but for a normal sleeper, like my husband, you wouldn't notice it. It would have been nice if restaurant and bar had been open but unfortunately they were closed. A note of apology was on show. The interior was excellent, the exterior and grounds were a little "tired"

the hotel was easy to find, discreetly located, with a beautiful outlook. Parking was easy. the grounds were beautiful, I would like to give a special mention to both Shawn and Akshasa who were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble for them, they were both a asset to the hotel, in building guest staff relationships. I have stayed in 5 star hotels where the staff were not as good as these two. breakfast was also very nice

The hotel is being upgraded and i used to be in building management, some areas are tired the decking needs to be up graded to composite from the existing wood. there are a few discreet piles of rubbish that need clearing up, the bar and restaurant were under modernization and not open but the local pub which serves excellent food was a 50 yard walk. For consideration, access from the grounds onto the canal tow path should be made available
