Location was great. Communication on the lead up was very good. The staff were helpful and the room was very comfortable.

It would have been ideal to have a fridge in the room. I booked on Booking.com which said ‘kids sleep free’ but there was a £30+ price increase when I added my 4 month old baby - in other words, kids do not stay for free. The advice was to cancel on Booking.com and rebook direct for a small discount but it was only a marginal saving and not close enough to the original price to be worth the risk of losing the room. They were not able to help further and match the original price. The shower also changed temperature constantly.

Second time of staying at this hotel, just for one night this time. I was on the ground floor in a twin room which was an acceptable size with the facilities i needed, hairdryer for example. The location of this hotel is great being on Berkhamsted High Street a short walk from the station. 20% on food at the sister hotel The King Arms. Very good breakfast cooked to order. Had a lovely meal in the evening, very well looked after with my father in law. Food Intolerances well understood and catered for.

This room can be a bit noisy as in the walk way to the car park.

My room had a very good size modern shower room with a double size shower . The bedroom was a reasonable size for a few nights stay and quite quiet and comfortable. Plenty of space to unpack a few things and sufficient hangers. Iron and ironing board useful.The breakfasts cooked to order at the sister hotel the Kings Arms were excellent.

Using the code to get into the annex front door as i kept forgeting it and it was a nusience in the dark.

Helpful young lady on reception, very good location behind the high street and onsite parking. Room was plenty big enough, clean and comfortable.

Temperature of the room was a little cold for me, the room was next to the walkway and the courtyard (so not particularly private), shower door leaked, so the historic damp areas in the bathroom make it look like a little TLC wouldn't go amiss

We have stayed here before & have it booked again for next year. We love Berkhamsted and it’s so easy to catch the train into London from here. Hotel is in a brilliant location with a good car park. Rooms are basic but very comfy beds and clean.

We always have one of the ground floor rooms which can get a little noisy outside later on but you are in the town so to be expected & not really an issue.

I did not opt out for breakfast. Room was super clean and comfy. Location is middle of the high street, lot of shops nearby. Receptionist was very helpful.

It was behind a restaurant so not easily visible from main road, a sign board will help

Room good, bed v comfortable and an excellent shower, all very clean also breakfast at the sister hotel the King's Head is excellent

Quite a bit of light comes in through gaps between wall and curtains so black out blinds would be good - its not too bad though

An intriguing location, almost buried by the Giggling Squid restaurant, and visible only from the car park - itself neatly included in the approach to the Waitrose car park - yet perfect in its proximity to the High Street. A great breakfast partnership with companion the Kings Arms. We'll be back.

Difficult to find if arriving in the dark

Well situated. Good direction for parking. Clean. Good sized room (35) good tea making equipment. Clean towels. Comfy bed

Shower was rubbish and if not sorted someone will burn themselves. Difficult/impossible to get good temperature.

The bed was unreal… super comfortable and so big we felt we had two double beds. So slept well. It had all items you need , iron, ironing board , hot powerful shower.

We both felt the room could do with update in terms decorating perhaps. As the room it was quite dark & not exactly cozy vibes. It would do for an overnight stay but not necessarily longer perhaps.
