We had a nice stay overall – the hotel was clean, the location was great, and the staff were polite and helpful. The value for money is actually pretty good, so no major complaints there.

But...the bed… oh the bed...well, let’s just say - not made for tall people. My partner and I are both quite tall, and squeezing into what was labeled a double bed felt like a nightly game of Tetris. If you're over 180 cm, expect your feet to hang off the edge and your limbs to be in a constant state of negotiation. Stretching before bed is highly recommended!

The breakfast was simple, but good, no fancy food, but we were able to choose. The room was nice and cosy, our windows were facing the garden, no noise from the street :) On the other hand the water pipe was noisy in the evening i could hear when the neighbours used the bathroom. Location was good: was able to park 2 min from the hotel, as we went on the weekend, parking was free. The bus stop is 1 min away, very frequent.

Great hotel with excellent value for money. The staff is incredibly friendly, especially the guy at the reception, who is a real professional and made our check-in super quick and efficient. Thanks to his professionalism, we had no delays. The breakfast area was nice, and despite the hotel being full of tourists at the same time, we didn’t experience any discomfort. The location was also great, leaving us with a positive impression overall.

The staff was great and gentile, everybody spoke english, and the rooms were overall clean and not old. ALso easily accessible by public transport. Honestly it is a good value for money!

Our room had no ventilation nor a kettle (so no possibility of a tea if the kitchen is closed), and the breakfast at the hotel was not the best. Those are the only cons I can find

It is not possible to find a better offer at this price. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and surprisingly large, and the breakfast was sufficiently plentiful. The car was safe in the parking garage. The location is great, only a 15-minute walk to downtown, or a 3-minute ride by city bus with a bus station located 100 meters from the hotel.

Cheap, good location

The mattress was very bad in the room, no soundproofing on the door, so you hear others coming and going, slamming doors etc The breakfast is basic, not much variety. They used to have a 4 star area, but I don't know what happened to that, seems to be they only have this old school part running, which is really a budget accommodation for relatively cheap price

Good location. We had quiet room at back wing of the hotel. Free parking. We didnt try breakfast. Modern furniture. Older design of hotel. Good price.

Elevator wasnt working. Mosquitos in room.

Breakfast was good, but I would not like to eat those same things for more than 2-3 days. Transport to town center, Keleti rail station or nearest Subway station is excellent - hotel is located on the main thoroughfare with many and frequent busses. Use 24h ticket or family ticket. There are grocery stores nearby, several transport hubs walkable distance, you can walk to the castle or center of Buda.

Hotel was pretty good for the price (comparing to other hotels that Booking offered me) but nothing to be excited about. It looks like only a part of the hotel is operational . If you need just the room to sleep during visit and generic hotel bufet for breakfast (Instant coffee from machine, for example) it is a good choice. Hotel is obviously older, but well maintained.

Bed is uncomfortable, and it can be a bit cleaner but overall it’s nice for the price. Food was good, plenty of different options, drinks as well. The staff is great and helpful.

Hotel Bara is a little piece of history. You will feel the joy of being a communist hotel with the unmistakable vibe of a school trip when you were 15! AND this is not bad at all. Bara has nice parking so you don't worry about your car. The staff is nice, they extended our stay for an hour. You need to bring your own shampoo and washing gel, but you get a drier at the reception. Just ask for it. There's a gas station around the corner, it has anything you would need. The beds are nice and comfy, they gave us a 4-bed room for 3 people, so we had a lot of space. Transportation can get tricky, but JUST WALK and get a BOLT TAXI when coming back. LOCAL taxis will scam the euros, dollars, forints, whatever so easily. Oh and there's a bus...148 I think that is directly in front of Bara..sooo :D

If you get a room on the roadside, it is a bit loud. Luckily as I am POOR, I already can handle the traffic. IT IS MY LULLABY. BUT if you are bugged by passing cars, turn on the ac and close the windows or get some ear plugs. It's not so bad..but be alerted. But for this money...in Budapest..its a small price to pay. I mean you should already be super tired from all the walking and sightseeing.
