My wife and I stayed in The Churchill suite last week. As soon as we were welcomed in and the door closed, my wife squealed with excitement! It is a truly stunning room.  We had an unforgettable anniversary celebration at Palé Hall. From start to finish, every aspect of our stay was exceptional e.g. the food, the service, the atmosphere - all of it exceeded our expectations. We dined multiple times a day at the Hall simply because the food was that good.  We've stayed at many similar places that offer stay and dining and nothing has come close to the standard set here, in terms of overall experience and warmth and welcoming.  One of the highlights was the tasting menu — a truly remarkable experience. It was the first time my wife and I have genuinely enjoyed every single course. To learn that the menu had only launched five days earlier made it all the more impressive. A testament to your head chef and the team.  The quality and local produce shines.  As the saying goes, a company’s greatest asset is its people and Palé Hall embodies that perfectly.  Every member of the team from front of house to those behind the scenes contributed to making our stay special.  You've created something truly outstanding, and we can’t wait to return.

No complaints at all!

Every single member of staff greeted us with warmth and genuine enthusiasm. They had the perfect balance between friendly and professional. The food was exquisite - the produce superb and each component of every dish was prepared to perfection and brought together with great skill. My only suggestion would be to serve some warm bread with meals like many parts of Europe. As the food style is quite minimal (think Michelin) a little bread would fill that gap! The rooms are flawless in design and execution. Soft fluffy towels in new but classically styled bathrooms. Super comfortable beds and two styles of pillows. Thoughtful touches like fresh milk and biscuits for tea and still and sparkling water refreshed daily. The entire house is decorated with great taste in period decor. You feel like the Lord and Lady of the house! The gardens and sunsets are to behold. You cannot possibly be disappointed with this magnificent property.

An amuse bouche and fresh bread with dinner is the only suggestion I have!

Exceeded all expectations. Staff were exceptional. We were welcomed by David, who clearly takes great pride in his job, and offered one of the friendliest welcomes we have received at any hotel. But every member of staff stood out. This is a team that has been trained to the highest standards, while succeeding in maintaining a friendly, down to earth vibe. Loved everything about it. I believe we were in one of the recently renovated rooms, which had been done beautifully. We had lunch in the bar and dinner in the restaurant, both of which were superb. Great breakfast too. Couldn’t fault a thing, and we will be back later in the year.

I had a wonderful stay at this property. The hotel was spotless, and having parking available was a great convenience. My partner forgot their toothbrush, but the staff quickly provided one, which was a thoughtful touch. The breakfast was excellent, and the location was absolutely beautiful, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The staff were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond by checking up on us before our arrival due to the fog, which we truly appreciated. Highly recommend this place for its excellent service and attention to detail! I also appreciated the cute Palé Times guide, which had fantastic recommendations for places to visit—such a lovely detail!

I had no issues with the property. Everything was great, and the stay exceeded my expectations.

A wonderful property with attentive and pleasant staff. The master suite room was spacious with a wonderful view of the gardens. All meals, which included the special taster menus, were enjoyable. Particularly impressed with the 'turn down' service so that guests can return to their rooms after dinner with weather information provided and classical music from the TV playing quietly in the background. Small but 'classy' touches.

I picked out this hotel for my wife's birthday and having read all the details about the expected dress code in the main restaurant, I was slightly disappointed that at least two other diners were dressed 'scruffily' including jeans and baseball cap. Inconsistent application of the dress code means that for many of us the experience would become less 'special'. There is a dilemma here for the property, I hope the hotel will be brave enough to expect diners in the main restaurant to comply with the dress code.

This hotel is outstanding and very well-run. The building itself is interesting and the interior decorations beautiful, displaying exceptional craftsmanship. Our turret room overlooking the garden was very comfortable in all respects, with personal touches we much appreciated. The food was of a very high standard, with carefully balanced flavours, and with a good choice available. The staff were all very friendly but efficient and professional - the welcoming concierge, room service, dining and bar staff. Highly recommended.

Everything! Beautiful building and grounds, fabulous welcome and great knowledge in the host team! Breakfast was lovely and service was very friendly. Shout out to Paul the welcome host and Pat at breakfast both made us feel very special. Our toddler was absolutely spoiled and loved our visit.

Service over dinner wasn’t as we were expecting, quite hands off and felt there was missed opportunity for upsell. We had requested a recommendation of dessert wine to go with my husband tart and told the sommelier would come to see us however no one came so my husband just ate his dessert and we left. We were dining with our toddler so potentially not the guests you would target for spending extra time at the table or in the bar before/after dinner which we understand. The young male waiter at dinner was great with us!

Pale Hall is an incredible place to escape urban life and lose yourself in a majestic setting. This was our second stay and it did not disappoint. The staff is fantastic, whether it being greeted when arriving in the car park to someone giving a tour of the Hall after arriving. After our tour, we were served tea in one of the sitting rooms. The gentleman who hosting us took us to our room and gave us information about items in it. The room had a sitting room in a turret. Dinner and breakfast were wonderful. I cannot say enough about our stay.

The only dislike was the fact that we had to leave to continue our vacation.

Fabulous, historical accommodation. Very friendly, helpful staff. Delicious food. Beautiful grounds.

Just one suggestion - the unique Welsh character of the area could perhaps be reflected more fully in the catering e.g. offer only Welsh cheeses on the menu (there is a huge range available), Welsh honey at breakfast, offer cocktails containing Welsh gin, whisky, vodka.

Great location and stunning property. A limited number of things to do in the area apart from walking. Bala is not an attractive town and one needs to travel to other attractions. There is no local championship golf which is our main hobby. The food is very good and our room was magnificent. The G.M. is excellent and leads from the front.

The town of Bala is unattractive and a swimming pool would have been a welcome addition. Beware of the narrow roads around the hotel.
