Great atmosphere for a short stay & within walking distance to Lake Macquarie Yacht Club & shops nearby only a short drive away. Rooms are quiet & comfortable. Very friendly & approachable staff. Would stay again.

Bathroom although functional, could do with a makeover. Ate at the restaurant, all in all, food was ok.. The ceviche dish definitely not worth the price of $36. Tasteless, very little fish & side crisps, not a hint of lime & had to add salt to it for any kind of flavour. Most of the dish was made up of grapes, cucumber & carrots. Really odd combo to put with ceviche & didn't need it because it's not a cheese platter!!!

The staff were very efficient and friendly and the room was reasonably priced. My room was simple but very clean, quiet, comfortable and well appointed with plenty of on-site parking. If needed, the bistro and bar downstairs has an excellent choice of food and beverages at reasonable prices, which is a big advantage over a motel. The hotel itself looks fresh, upbeat and modern. Also, the location is convenient being on the highway and relatively close to the attractions of the Lake Macquarie area.

I wish the guest wi-fi kept you logged on during your stay instead of requiring you to sign up again daily. As the accommodation is on the first floor with access by stairs, I was wondering how those with a disability would access this area as, if there is a lift, I didn't notice one or see any signage to indicate there was one.

Loved the space for 2 couples staying for 2 nights.

That there was no hangers in the cupboards or shelves/area for plates, cups etc in the living area for couples staying a few nights and having breakfast in their room. Also band was very loud on Friday night til after midnight then noisy with people leaving and chatting in the car park.

Basic but comfortable accomodation which suited us for a 1 nights stay for a wedding locally. Free parking on site, comfy large bed, and would definitely consider Gunyah hotel for a short stay for events in the local area as location is great.

Very Dated bathroom and no fresh air in rooms (despite large window with great view). But also feel this is reflected in the price so not a deal breaker.

Love the clean rooms, comfy beds and thank you for the body wash you have now added to your rooms. I stay very often for work and had asked for this in a previous review, so thank you for listening. A big shout out to your lovely and efficient staff member who granted my special request. Love this place and will continue to stay.

The staff are really kind and considerate.

Nothing. I think cleaners might be paid on a strict time limit per-room. This can be an issue. I moved one of the single beds in my room and underneath it was just heaps of dust and dirt... this is NOT necessarily the cleaners fault... it is important management allocates appropriate paid hours to complete a room turn-around.

Convenient parking. New shower head and taps. Comfortable medium softness beds. Good blinds. Free bottled water. Sort of nice view over Belmont Lagoon.

No elevator. Soap rather than body wash. Not much space to put things on the bathroom, ie not flat shelf near basin or in shower. No hair dryer. A little bit of traffic noise and dance music noise, but I'm used to living on a busy local road.

For its rating, I found it very clean and tidy. Bed and pillows were comfy. I was worried about noise from the bar but it wasn't an issue.

The shower was only ok and mirror wasn't high enough over hand basin. Not given instruction for check out procedure so left key in room as bar access (where you check in) was still closed at 10am.

Comfy bed. Quiet aircon. Good & clean amenities. Wifi OK but did max out on some data that I didn't think was that much. Had pretty good Optus 4G reception to fall back on. Good little kettle. Decent bathroom cabinet. Decent sized TV with some extra channels ( that you get in a pub) above free to air. Room was pretty clean. Some tea, coffee and little milks.l, plus 2 coffee mugs and 2 glasses. Good lights. Enough power points and usb charge ports. Aircon was super quiet. Small fridge.

No cutlery or stirrers for the coffee/ tea. Signal strength to the TV wasn't that strong and even the Newcastle channels were a bit jumpy. Double glazed windows and brick which is awesome, though you will still hear some road traffic. Little bit of a smell when you 1st entered the room. Popped the fan on in the toilet and set the aircon fan on and couldn't smell anything after 60 seconds. The chairs to the bench were too low which meant you had to have your arms leaning up to use a lappy.

During my stay my health worsened and I was needed to be placed in Hospital. The staff at the Gunyah were fantastic, not only did they summon an ambulance, the Managers personally stayed alongside of me until such time as I left in the Ambulance. Upon my return they gave me the utmost service.

It was noisy on Friday and Saturday nights due to the live music downstairs.
