We loved everything! Such a welcoming feeling came over us as we entered the hotel. We were greeted and Domingo helped with our bags to our clean and quiet room. He suggested a few good places for us to eat dinner on a Sunday night. Meeting Rui the next morning was a delight. He greeted us with a delicious breakfast that we ate on the lovely terrace overlooking the mountain. He provided us with great ideas of how to complete our day. The location was within a short, flat walking distance to the historic centre. So happy that we had 3 wonderful nights at Hotel Nova Sintra.

Rui and Simao were great hosts and very helpful. The location is great, close to excellent restaurants like Incommum and Mela Cannela, and many others. It is in walking distance to the Historic City center. You have great views of the Moorish castle from their patio and there is a lavendaria right next door if you need to wash your clothes. You are also in walking distance to the trains. Bus station to the castles are just a block away. I enjoyed learning the history of the hotel and enjoyed many conversations with Rui and Simao. Sinatra was one of our favorite stops on our trip in Portugal and at the end of each day we were there, we alway felt like we were coming home.

The Owner, Rui, is an exceptional hotelier. He does everything possible to ensure that you are properly looked after. He will help out with recommendations on places to visit, details of transport required, and up to date information on all manner of things. This he does with a friendly smile, and care for his guests. We had booked to visit some local castles. A number were shut because a storm had felled trees on the access roads. Rui updated us on a daily basis about whether we could visit them or not. The choice for breakfast was brilliant, and we were delighted with it.

My wife and I agree that the Breakfast and General Manager (Rui) were both excellent! The location make walking around Sintra easy and convenient. We used Uber and Bolt to get to some of the main attractions and the rates were generally very good compared to what I was used to in Atlanta, GA, USA.

Sintra is very hilly therefore if you plan to walk a bit, come prepared. There are a number of stairs to get to the hotel and also to our room. (However, the General Manager was very insistent and willing at all times to assist us our luggage. )

I liked everything about this hotel It is family run and Rui was amazing offering advise on where to go and what to see and going above and beyond on service The hotel was immaculately clean, the room spacious and comfortable with a little terrace and amazing shower Unlike a lot of hotels breakfast was included in the price and was delicious with a great choice of fresh fruit, breads , cereals, yogurt and hot choice The location was great 5 minutes walk from the station and old town but very quiet with a lovely terrace and views across to the castle Don’t be deceived by the 2 stars this hotel is better than many 4 star hotels

The Hotel was perfect. Room was clean, quiet, comfortable & reasonable. Big window overlooking Moors Castle. Bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was excellent and the room it was served in was cozy. Met other nice travelers from different countries. Location couldn't have been better. Short walk to the train station & the 434 Bus. (Life line to the sites) A short walk into the downtown and a short walk back away from the crowds. Short walks to everything Host Rui was helpful at every stage of the operations. Truly an amazing host with a strong passion for making his guest happy. He helped with luggage; parking; checkin; breakfast and gave us helpful touring & great local dinner suggestions. The deck & patio was well gardened and offered a great escape from the touring insanity. I felt at home.

Only thing that could have been better was a longer stay. The Hotel exceeded my expectations.

I don't know how hotels get their stars, but this hotel is a level above the three star hotels I've visited before. Somehow Rui (the owner) was always there if we needed help. We arrived 4 hours before check-in time and wanted to leave our luggage at the hotel, but Rui said our room was ready and gave us access to it! The hotel has an ideal location: 5 minutes to the train station and the start of all local bus routes, 7 minutes to the flixbus stop. There is a quiet street with restaurants nearby. The hotel has a huge terrace from which you can admire the view of the hill with Moorish Castle. Very tasty and varied breakfasts. We had one of the cleanest rooms ever! My wife can always find dust and dirt where the average person wouldn't find it, but in this case the victory went to Nova Sintra. I will only recommend this hotel to all my friends if they visit Sintra.

The Wi-Fi speed was quite slow, but we had a good 5G signal from our room, so we didn’t have any problems with the Internet access.

The kindness and care of the staff. They were very attentive to our needs and catered to our needs. I was having some knee pain and the owner went above and beyond getting me his own ice pack to ice my knee. Breakfast was very good with a variety of foods to choose from. They were thoughtful enough to make dinner reservations for us and had umbrellas for us as it was raining.

A lot of stairs to go up the property. Specially when you have a lot of luggage. I was fortunate enough that the owner’s son helped us carry the bags.

An excellent hotel that fully lives up to its rating. Perfectly located right in the city center — everything is close and convenient. The breakfasts are delicious and varied. Special thanks to the hosts — this is a family-run hotel with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful: always ready to assist, answer any questions, and support you in any situation. Highly recommended — you truly feel at home here.

This place was AMAZING!!!! This family owned and run property made it feel like home from the minute we walked up the stairs. Rui and Simao were attentive to our every need. Always with a smile and a chat. Breakfast was an ample spread of a wide variety to set you up for a day of exploring around Sintra. Walking distance to the old town and suitably located to public transport for any other travel needs. We highly recommend this beautiful property
