This was booked as a 'budget' option for three people staying overnight before catching the morning ferry back to England. It was perfect for that. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was actually a wet room with disabled facilities but it was absolutely fine and included toiletries and good towels. There were tea and coffee making facilities. A short walk from the hotel was a recently developed sea front area with bars, ice cream parlours, etc., with a wide promenade. While we didn't need it, there was lots of storage for clothes.

Parking on site is limited so you are likely to have to take the chance on a space on the roadside nearby.

staff was extremely kind and helpful despite some of them not speaking english. the meaty (american) breakfast very EXTREMELY TASTY! the ingredients were of the highest quality

while I loved the american breakfast, it was an extremely small portion for 10 euros. it was 2 slices of cheese, a slice of toasted brioche, a slice of some french bacon, a slice of some french ham and an egg. about 1/4th of an okay size english breakfast.

This hotel was on the basic side but was fine for a single night stay. There were no real facilities outside of your room, Staff were attentive and polite. Location was good with a short walk to the beachfront and all of the bars and resturants. It was ideal for our group as we simply used it as a stop between legs on our journey.

Carparking was a bit limited for the number of people in the hotel. Quite alot of parking seemed to be used by staff rather than paying customers.

The location is just perfect and its good value for money. It is a hostel thant explains the lower price and standard.

Inside it looks like a hospital, and also smells like that. Walking through the corridor feels like there can be a doctor coming out of every door. Besides that, during breakfast you sit on the same table as other people. For the rest there is wifi… Doesn’t work on a laptop and on the phone it os very slow. Unfortunately 4/5G is also not very good at this location. Text above looks like a lot of complaints, but considering the fact this is a hostel. Its all fine to stay here!

We had such a great night, the beds are so comfortable ! We arrived very late around midnight and the staff could not be more helpfull! We also got the breakfast options even though we didn't book it beforehand. Everybody greated us with smile and willingness to help us with anything...

Great location, clean, spacious room and bathroom, free parking. The staff was very helpful. My French is very limited and they were happy to speak English to me. I never expect that when I travel, but I do appreciate it. We are family of five and booked a 6 bed room with en suite. Took a lovely walk to Bastion 28 and visit to the museum.

The only negative thing I could say is that the beds were a bit hard for our liking but pretty much what you expect at a hostel. Can’t speak to the food because we didn’t try it this time.

Comfortable and had very secure parking for our motorbike. Breakfast basic but good value. Plenty of bars and restaurants walkable from accommodation.

It is about a 30 min drive from the car ferry port so you need to be aware of this.

I had a great time at L'Escale. I had cycled to Dunkirk from Calais and arrived very tired and hungry. Because of this I was very pleased that dinner was available in the cafeteria right downstairs and I didn't have to go out and find a restaurant.

More options for breakfast would have been nice. I don't eat sugar so I found the breakfast a bit challenging. All of the cereals were sugary processed cereals. Would have been nice to have a sugar-free option like oats (avoine) and full fat yoghurt with no sugar.

Its location is close to the beach and cafes . Room was basic but clean . Very comfortable .breakfast was good too all you can eat great selection . You could have an American style breakfast too if you want .

No milk in the room as they didn’t provide for English tea. Only peppermint or green tea .

Quiet area, really friendly staff who were really helpful. Rooms were tidy and comfortable and the kettle in the room was gratefully received. An easy drive from Dunkirk ferry port and ten minutes from the beach - location was great! The car park was easy to find and the bathroom was clean with a very big shower!
