We were given a lovely and spacious room at the end of the corridor. It was nice and quiet. The room has lots of storage space, rather wasted on us, as we were only staying for one night. It was great to have such a lot of space. The bed was large, but a bit bouncier than our own and a bit softer, too. We had a good night sleep. It looks like the bathroom has been renovated was a nice large shower and no plastic shower curtains. Hurray! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had dinner there and the food was very nice indeed. The service was also very good. The breakfast was hearty and lots of choices. All in all, very nice and will be happy to stay here again.

Oddly, there was no soap dish and we couldn't put the soap on the basin. Could have done with a tray for shower gel in the shower. Otherwise it was a very nice room.

A one night stay attending a family event. We booked the Walnut Tree at short notice based entirely on its location being convenient for my mother's house. We were greeted by Daniel who was friendly, cheerful and helpful on each occasion we dealt with him during our stay. We were impressed by the room size, which was quiet and clean with a bed we found very comfortable. While the menu in the room information looked interesting and reasonably priced, we were pre-booked elsewhere so cannot comment. The breakfast was excellent, however, with a buffet and cooked options. Fantastic value for money and so much nicer than the chain hotel offerings. Highly recommended.

Spacious rooms, well laid out. Comfy beds, good complimentary toiletries. Cooked breakfast was tasty. Continental choice was excellent. Good location for touring, handy little Tesco opposite. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Rooms look like they had recently been refurbished, so furniture was in good condition. Rooms were generally clean, especially the bathroom, which was fab. However, there were a few areas in main room that had been missed. Splashes up doors and dust on ledges. With some extra attention to details like this, it would rate as perfect!!

The accommodation was very good and well staffed. There is clear evidence that the rooms were being upgraded which were spacious and had good amnesties. They were very welcoming and both rooms and communal areas were clean. There was a large free car park with ev charging available. There was little traffic noise despite being on a road this easy to find

The restaurant although well presented was very slow. It took nearly an hour for our meal to come and it was not hot. This despite booking the table in advance for 6 and explaining we were time sensitive. they were not busy - 1 other table occupied

The room was great, a desk, dressing table, relaxing chairs and very comfy bed. Plenty of storage space. Walk in shower which was excellent no problem with water pressure. Wi Fi never let us down even though there was the facility for free calls from the land line if wi fi went down. Staff extremely helpful and friendly and the chef's deserve a thank you for producing excellent food, all of which was freshly cooked and using fresh ingredients.

Perhaps reception and bar being manned more frequently.

Nice hotel feel , lovely and clean. Perfect location. Room was really big , comfy and had everything we needed. Comfy bed. Great carpark.

Nothing really - just a few things would have made it better. Needed more pillows. Bathroom door was creaky. Messaged ahead to say I was Gluten free ready for breakfast but no cereal was supplied at breakfast which was disappointing. Did have gf bread which was standard gf bread. Lovely fresh cooked breakfast but a little small , would have liked more than one mushroom and half a tomato with my scrambled eggs. But this wouldn’t put me off staying again.

A one night stop off on the way to Cornwall. Although a little chilly in the room on our early arrival Sophie stepped in and sorted immediately. Check in with Daniel was excellent and it is clear all the team care for the venue. Great to find an independent hotel that understands proper sincere service, great rooms, fabulous food even when clearly dealing with the lack of staff blighting most places these days. Highly recommended and will definitely be back when travelling that way, handy for the M5 and heaps better than the National competitors

Well appointed, clean & fresh room with plenty of storage. It was quiet & peaceful. Excellent cooked to order breakfast, with fresh fruit, yoghurt & freshly baked pastries on the buffet. All staff were friendly, efficient & professional. Although the hotel has a traditional style(a little dated) everywhere was well decorated & maintained & very clean. Excellent value for money stay.

We were in an accessible room, though we did not require it. Although the extra space was welcome, did not like the bathroom. The walk in shower with concrete floor reminded us of school changing rooms.

Reception - booking in - pleasant staff, no waiting about, Breakfasts - very kindly cooked extra stuff when we had a request - organised Bar - lovely area to unwind Room on the whole it was lovely - but heating kept going off at funny times - and it was an exceptionally wet and damp few days we were there - we were out most of the time and if we had been in room more often we would have spoken to staff.

Size of the bath - I know it is often beyond the powers of the management - but the bath is very small so would be better not to have. On saying that if I had children the bath would have been better than a shower

Breakfast was excellent, all you could eat and very tasty, with tea, coffee, cereals, fruit, yogurt and fried breakfast. The dining room was decorated for Christmas and was charming. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were so friendly and cheerful. It was a quiet little escape, in a peaceful village, perfect for our needs. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Parking was plentiful and right next to our room. We did not need easy access but the rooms would definitely be suitable for wheelchair users, with wide hallways, large rooms and wet room style showers.
