A very characterful place, with super friendly staff and great instructions for parking etc sent as soon as I’d booked. I was also asked if I wanted a quiet room (which was much further from reception) or happy to be above the bar (for a much shorter walk to the room). I chose the former as I wanted a good night’s sleep and I didn’t hear a thing - they’d even left earplugs for me, but I didn’t need to use them. The bathroom was very nice - looks like it had been done recently. The lovely little sign on the wall saying ‘run the shower for a few mins to get the hot water through’ - heed this sign! It literally took more than 5 mins of running the shower (and the sink tap) on hot to get the water through. It really wasn’t a problem at all - it did warn you’d need to do this - but don’t underestimate how long it takes!! I didn’t have the breakfast as I was meeting family for breakfast elsewhere, but I ate my evening meal in the pub and it was perfectly edible, with more super friendly staff.

Nothing the hotel could change

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean, the beds comfortable and the ensuite was spacious. Breakfast was delicious, I recommend the veggie sausage and halloumi! The hotel is in a central location and has a courtyard which leads to the evening bar. The great age of the building makes it interesting and quirky, with odd steps and sloping floors.

Our room at the back of the building was quiet apart from the nearby kitchen extractor fan which came on at 6.30am. This can't be helped, as breakfast is a available from 7am - and earplugs are helpfully provided.

This is a warm and friendly hotel, staff are accommodating, very important to me the towels and bed are clean, crisp white and fresh. The bathroom facilities feel new and is practical. The restaurant attached is exceptional - high quality food, attentive and friendly staff and a great menu reasonably priced. I enjoyed my stay and will return.

The location is on a busy one way street, it has lots of noise (cars and people) BUT that said I slept soundly in a very comfortable bed, I was in a room facing the road. It feels dated, old fashioned and in need of brightening up but it is old and has a Tudor feel, some paintwork could do with freshening and checking with a keen eye.

The staff are fantastic. Polite, professional and welcoming. The breakfast was very tasty, fresh and wholesome. The bedroom and shower room were freshly decorated and renewed. A great location for a visit to Bridgwater

The bedroom floor creaked no matter where it was walked on. Must have been very annoying for the visitors below as it was for me. I could hear them talking quite clearly. The views from the room show the poor condition of some parts of the external fabric of the building.

Lovely old world small hotel in the centre of Bridgwater. Room size very ample for a single room and decent shower all very clean. Breakfast is very good with lots of choices. Staff and very nice and accommodating. Nice restaurant attached and food all home cooked and good value for money.

Lots of stairs and this comes with the charm of the building. No lift but staff can assist to carry your bags. Really lovely too that staff walk you to your room on check in. The room lovely as it was overlooked a courtyard and weekend nites can be noisy from bar below but as a guest you are made aware of noise disturbance. Again staff think of everything and provide ear plugs. But if you stayed in the hotel and had a few drinks in the bar below noise wouldn't be an issue.

The room was charming and nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. We loved the spa tub as well. The food was delicious; we enjoyed the dining area each morning for breakfast and dinner at night. Great food selection and tasty options as well. Every staff person we encountered was kind, professional and lovely to speak with. We really had an excellent stay.

The streets were noisy at night but nothing really to be done about that. The hotel was kind to provide ear plugs to help with the situation.

Absolutely fantastic staff. Genuinely family run and all the better for it! Could not be more welcoming or attentive if they tried. Restaurant is superb. Real home cooked quality dishes. Kleftiko and Greek potatoes were amazing. Our server told us it was just ready and it came oven fresh and delicious. The home-made carrot cake was outstandingly good! We will be travelling to and from Cornwall frequently this year from London, and we intend to stop halfway for the night every time just to spend a night there and enjoy the restaurant. This establishment would be successful in any part of the country. Big chains, etc, just can not mimic genuine places like this. Exceptional.

The only thing we didn't like was the rest of Bridgwater!! Just stay in the hotel and enjoy it!

Excellent. The hotel's food offering were plentiful. Starting with breakfast, it was excellent in taste and value for money. The reception staff, principally interacting with the awesome Amanda, were very friendly and professional.

Not applicable. Regarding breakfast, the food and the service- I don't see any way to have improved. The staff/servers were constantly on top of any requests and guests' needs. The Tudor is in the centre of Bridgwater and has plenty of character, the room was compact but clean and tidy with all the standard facilities. The restaurant serves a good selection of traditional meals which are very tasty and reasonably priced, the breakfast also has a very good selection of options. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The parking options at the Hotel are limited as there is no car park close by, so you are reliant on street parking with time limits. The Wifi was adequate by did drop away on a couple of occasions.

It was situated in the centre of town so walking out to have a meal or a drink was very easy.

There is no car park so you have to either park on the road and try and work round the parking restrictions or find a suitable car park. Some of the rooms overlook the courtyard of the pub next door and they do warn you that it might be a bit noisy before closing time. I had such a room but I did not find the noise particularly intrusive. It's an old building and there are a few stairs to negotiate to get to some of the rooms. Buildings of that era do not have lifts.
