Great breakfast with a wide variety of delicious choices. Very friendly staff too. Good water pressure for the shower. Lots of parking and a separate entrance to the rooms, avoiding the need to having to go through the bar area.

The room was a good size with a nice outlook over a field of cows. The room could do with redecorating and the chrome button to turn on the shower was missing, so the metal button underneath had to be pressed. The shower head was the monsoon type- no handheld shower head option. No small bar fridge, but a small bottle provided for taking to the bar where it was filled with milk for a tea or coffee.

The staff were brilliant and were a credit to the bower inn and Butcombe. They were able to fulfil all our requests and were very friendly and professional. The food was all really great but the roast dinner was amazing - do not miss. All the basic were there in our room and it was a good location in Bridgwater.

Some of the decor was a bit tired. The mattresses were pretty lumpy and hard. The bathroom sink had a bad smell (although the staff did all they could to sort this). However the staff told us they are having a refurb in the next few months so it sounds like this will be sorted.

We stay fairly often on our way to or from airport. Although near a housing estate it still manages to have a country feel. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The restaurant is good and breakfast excellent. We recommend staying here.

Nothing major. Our room had a bath with a shower. A hand rail would a good idea to improve safety as the bath is quite deep. We don't like the fact that a 10 percent tip is automatically added to you bill in the restaurant. It is mentioned in very small type at the bottom of the second side of the menu and is easily missed. You can ask for it to be removed but it makes you feel uncomfortable. I'm not against tipping but it should not be done automatically in this way.

We really liked the hotel, the restaurant, the pub and the beergarden, everything. Nice and clean room, the dog could stay with us. Coffee making in the room with French press, fresh milk available from the bar and not in small plastic packaging. Cookies were hand-made. The food in the restaurant was very good and the drinks were really tasty. Breakfast was available as per menue and prepared freshly. Parking lots were available without fee. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitively come again! Hopefully for more than 1 night.

The only thing I would ask for next time is additional food like bread, butter, marmelade. There was no buffet with extra food available (or at least we were not informed about it).

Beautiful place, suitable parking, rooms nice and spacious. Stayed in cosy twin and expected it to be very small, very happy with the space provided. Pub down stairs looked cosy. Good coffee in room and fresh milk from bar if want it. Good produce for breakfast. Lots of storage if was staying for awhile.

Service at breakfast was abit of a let down. Didn't provide glass of water requested, had to keep asking for a coffee refill, no additional sugar / sweetener provided when did, never cleared plates. Addition charge for full English to be aware of. Room was abit cold and didn't have a little noise transfer. Missing a box of face tissues in the room and sweeteners. Has steep stairs. Shower could have been about hotter. This is only niggles, I'd happily return.

The room was a nice size but was a bit tired, some nice curtains, pictures and definitely a mirror to get ready with in the bedroom would make all the difference, just needs a bit of colour and some attention to detail The grounds were quiet untidy which is a shame as the pub frontage is lovely

Stunning and spacious room with all you could ask for. Lovely bathroom, great quality toiletries and lovely towels. Everything was immaculate and all staff we encountered were very helpful and genuinely seemed like they wanted to be there. The food and service are faultless...we would definitely stay again as have family nearby.

We were in the 'cosy double' above the bar, and it really was so noisy. You could hear the conversations at times and a birthday party that must have been great based on the very drunk people (quite literally) crawling to their rooms and arguing with each other.

arrived lateish at 19:45 - very friendly, check in was fast, straight up to the room, which was huge, with a very modern immaculate bathroom, sofa, and a bath in the room..!! Anyway wanted something to eat so went straight back down and had an excellent pint of local pale ale, with the best fish and chips I have had in a very long while. Breakfast was just as good, really lovely sourdough toast and a fab selection - super-friendly staff and amazing value for money..!!

Staff were super friendly & helpful. Car Park spacious & Pub was welcoming & warm - arrived during a Storm for 1 night only. Room was large & had everything- loved the flask for fresh milk - much better than plastic cartons. Few decorating issues could be touched up but nothing major. Shower was superb & good quality bath products provided. Only minor issue was Trickle vent open on window all night so hubby slept in draught- did not notice until early morning but as it was December was not expecting it to be open... Had evening meal & breakfast in pub. Usual pub food & waitress was very friendly & helpful. Would defo go back & recommend for a comfy stay.

Very welcoming check-in and our room was superb with plenty space and plenty tea/coffee etc. Bed was very comfortable. The inclusive breakfast was excellent, quality content and great service When we checked in it was 19:30 so we booked a table in the restaurant - food was superb and service great - couldn't fault it. My wife and I were very pleased with our stay here - the room, the food, welcome and service. Hope to stay again.

Difficult place to find on a dark, rainy night - I don't think the hotel has been helped by council road closures and new house building. BUT MAKE THE EFFORT - IT WAS WORTH IT.
