Wonderful place to come as a family. The staff are lovely and warm and very helpful -- they absolutely made our visit perfect, and were so friendly and kind to our daughter. A gardener absolutely made her day by giving her a tour of trees and then remembering her the next day. Our room was massive, with a huge bathroom, and everything we needed for a toddler was supplied. The pool is beautiful, the changing rooms are clean. The gardens are gorgeous, even in early spring, and we spent most of our time just roaming around between fairy gardens and actual gardens. Really want to thank the restaurant staff for their assitance with my husband's coeliac requirements. Tony (apologies if we got your name wrong) had such perfect knowledge of the menu and could recommend everything that was gluten free and what subsititutions could be made. It may seem like a small thing, but it gave us such confidence that my husband could actually enjoy his meals risk free. Would recommend this hotel to anyone with allergen issues, they take it seriously and don't make you feel like a burden. I wish that wasn't so rare, but we really appreciated it. Can't wait to come back.

The first night, our food was excellent. The second, it was slow to come and rather disapointing. But that's about the only complaint. During the renovations, it'd be nice to see more play equpiment for children, it could use a bit of a refresh, but that's being very picky. Wish we could have stayed longer, looking forward to coming back when the renos are done.

We stayed here for two nights to celebrate our anniversary. We loved having somewhere so child-friendly to go — we have a 3 year old and 6 month old. Our three year old loved! There are so many areas to play indoors and outdoors. The restaurant menu is awesome for kids (and adults) with toddler and bigger kid portion sizes. We arrived to each meal with colouring set up for our three year old, a toddler chair for her and a comfortable seat for the baby. Daniel, who checked us in on the first night, and Isla in the restaurant, were truly exceptional in their hospitality. We loved swimming in the indoor pool (managed to purchase swim nappies and arm bands) and our eldest had a great time at the Den both with us and then in a supervised session. It’s a beautiful building and we were even given a bigger room than anticipated. In the evening, we enjoyed sitting by the fire with the video baby monitor on, the rooms are close enough that you feel comfortable doing this!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. All our requests were accommodated. The hotel is a beautiful old manor house which has kept a lot of its charm. It is set in beautiful surroundings with Jasmine smell drifting from the gardens into the building. Just gorgeous! It is a ten minute drive or half an hour walk to Bradford on Avon, which is very picturesque with many cafes, restaurants and little independent shops. Bonus points for a pod point charger on site!

The shower in our room was not good enough - struggled to get the hot water to come (there is a hack to get this done) and the flow was poor. The only criticism we have.

The facilities for kids and hidden gems (like the bear and cinema room) are so great. The grounds are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Pools are exceptional. Loved our room and the rich history of the place.

The waiting times for service. I probably spent an hour total queuing in reception to check in + ask about dinner reservations + asking about facilities, as there was never more than one person checking in people (a very long process), on the phone to booking.com about their chat system being hacked (a huge issue that booking.com is not helping with), or simply no one being there. Not ideal when you're pregnant and having a toddler in tow. In the restaurant, we repeatedly had to re-ask for menus, water, drinks order, to be seated, cutlery, and our food once took 50 minutes to arrive - again, not ideal with hungry kids. We ordered a supreme room, which is perfect, but not huge. It's a standard size room. That there are even smaller rooms for families is hard to imagine.

Every member of staff was very warm, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Staff in the main hotel, the pool area, garden area and cleaning, all had a smile and warmth about them. In particular the pool staff regularly tidied up and replaced drinking cups The cooked to order breakfast was superb

Drinks were overpriced and deterred us from eating in the hotel. £7 for a can of ordinary beer was outrageous. Setting reasonable prices is an art, but with Bradford on Avon a short walk/drive away it is easy to get cheaper meals and drinks

Great facilities for kids and very flexible about using the facilities before and after check in and check out, which made the cost more worthwhile for a one night stay. Having the use of Woolley Bears Den when it was not being used for activities was great. The pool was lovely, and the little touches like the fairy garden and wooden play houses made it special. The monitoring service was excellent, it was a treat to relax in the lounge whilst keeping an eye on our daughter, and the lounges were very comfortable especially the one with the open fire. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful.

The chandeliers in the restaurant were covered in cobwebs and, since that was the first place we went when we arrived at lunchtime, and since my daughter and I both have a dust allergy, that was a bit worrying, though the rest of the place was very clean as we discovered. £4.50 for pot of breakfast tea is overpriced imo. The fire alarm going off at bedtime was unfortunate. Our room was lovely but very dark, even in daytime with the lamps on.

Fine hotel with good public space and comfortable sofas, quiet rooms, excellent choice and quality of food, clever division of dining area between areas for those with and without young children, lovely pool and spa, private car parking, friendly staff generally very good and understanding with lively young noisy children.

Double beds are on the small side, meal times can be noisy (but it is a family hotel...)

The relaxed atmosphere and the choice of activities for the children made it perfect for a multi-generational family break. The catering was of a very high order with fresh produce used.

Although we are dog lovers we were not keen on large dogs being allowed in the restaurant. On one occasion two large dogs at the next table were rather intimidating and their owners seemed oblivious of this.

Takes the stress out of travelling with a baby with everything you could possibly need at the hotel and restaurant. Pool was lovely. The treats, towels and beds for the dogs was such a lovely touch, as well as the toy for our baby, really adds to the whole experience.

Some of the food was quite expensive for what it was or the cabbage main course, very tasty but expensive considering the ingredients used, would have been more of a full meal with some carbs included on the side

We had a really great stay at Woolley Grange. Hotel is wonderful, especially as it was decorated ready for Xmas. Location is perfect for visiting Bath. Breakfast and evening dining are excellent, with very helpful staff. It's especially good for those with children and grand-children as the facilities are perfect for young families. Happy to recommend and will definitely be back.
