The location was great in terms of it being right beside the coast The food throughout the day and evening was really nice. The staff were bubbly, polite, friendly, welcoming and always helpful (special mention to Laura on Reception and all the breakfast/cleaning staff). The hotel is very dog friendly so make sure you're comfortable around dogs. The local pub, a 15 minute walk away, did offer Sky and BT sports, and a pool table should you want a change scenery/pace.
The TV signal in the rooms appear to be dependent upon the weather, and I couldn't see a TV in the bar area. It was a 15 minute walk to the nearest local newsagents and the pub

The hotel is great. The superior sea view rooms are lovely. Bar, breakfast and dinner all really very good. Superb location. Big thank you to Mollie, who made our dining experience really enjoyable and she couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything we needed.
We were in room 503. Unfortunately our stay was spoilt a bit by the fact that there was a dog nextdoor in room 502 that woke us late at night and early in the morning by barking loudly followed by the owner shouting at it to keep quiet. Surely it would be better if all the dog friendly rooms were located in one area of the hotel. It’s surprising that some of the superior sea view rooms have now been allocated as dog friendly. We understand people want to bring their dogs, but it shouldn’t be at the detriment of those who haven’t brought a dog. Such a shame, because the hotel and everything about it is great.

The hotel was in a fantastic location with sea views and a short walk from the beach. The room was spacious and clean and we'd opted for one with a sea view, which didn't disappoint. The breakfast was lovely and the meals in the restaurant were tasty too. The addition of a Dyson fan to keep the air cool was helpful.
The only windows in our room were also balcony doors, so we didn't feel safe leaving them open at night but we needed some air. Pigeons nesting on our balcony woke us up too early too. On the first night, because it was busy, the food took a long while to come but this wasn't the case the second night. The avocado and poached eggs I chose for breakfast on 2nd day was a bit small and the yolks not runny.

Room 401 twin room, great size & comfy beds. Breakfast was lovely & had a great selection. Every staff member I spoke to was lovely & the hotel is a great location if you want a peaceful area with great views and easy access to the beach. 10 minute taxi into town was cheap, or you could walk 50 mins to Margate along the coastal path. I'd definitely stay here again.
The room was really hot & opening the windows wasn't really an option as it faced onto the roof & was noisy. There was a Dyson fan in the room though which was great & kept the room cool. Not a room with any sort of view but we weren't in the room during the day so wasn't a problem. The shower was attached at the end of the bath with an assisted handle on the tiles which got in the way whilst showering.

room with a superb view of Botany Bay. Very up to date decor with much comfort, suitcase rack, wardrobe, hairdryer, Nespresso compatible coffee machine and very nice hot shower bath, supplied with big bath sheets and white terry robes. The pub downstairs is not noisy at all, as the insulation is perfect. The morning breakfast is lovely for normal breakfast, but I felt a bit odd asking for non-dairy, no eggs for my intolerances, but in the end they arrived with gluten free toast and the full English as ordered. Safe parking behind the hotel away from prying eyes

This is the second stay at The Botany Bay Hotel and, hopefully, it won’t be the last!!! Toni got our stay off to a great start by calling to see if we needed a table at the restaurant due to late arrival and then kindly facilitated us with cutlery, crockery and condiments when we choose to have a take-away! She was also a great help during checkout: a very valuable member of staff! The bedroom was spectacular, the food amazing and the staff delightful! Overall, the hotel is a great place to stay!
The fact that dogs are allowed in the breakfast room: if you have allergies and/or a dislike for dogs, take this into account. I had to take an anti-histamine to make it through breakfast! I did raise this with staff was told that the option of eating in the main restaurant (alone) was an option, but I pointed out that this takes away from the social atmosphere of eating around other guests, has the buffet far away and, in a nutshell, gives priority to the canines. They said this will be passed on to management.

Room was a pleasant surprise - I'd paid for a single, and had a larger room than in the picture, with a small double bed (rather than single bed, also as in the picture). That said, the bathroom was as small as it could possibly be. Also, it's a bad design flaw putting a shelf just above a small sink, as it makes it really hard to brush teeth or wash face over the sink especially without banging head. Bathroom could've been a little bit cleaner, but overall I was happy enough with the room. The staff were all very nice, friendly and helpful, which was lovely. The breakfast was great - it seemed good quality, and was nicely presented. Decent coffee, they had oat milk no problem, and the fresh orange juice was very decent quality! The food in the restaurant was also really good. Location just perfect. Overall I was very happy with my stay.
Tiny bathroom, with shelf directly over the sink - an ill-thought out design choice!

Location. The peace. Kind staff. Good food (especially the cooked breakfast!)
Although our sea view room was huge, there were only 2 dining style chairs to sit on. We both felt that 2 small soft padded occasional chairs would have been a lovely addition, to be able to sit by the balcony doors (open or closed ) and enjoy the beautiful sea views. Also, as we walked into the hotel, a number of staff were chatting both sides of the reception and we waited and waited and waited whilst they chatted, for an acknowledgment. Bit of a poor start don’t you agree.

The room 403 was excellent the view was amazing the room was Large BUT not too large just right. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
Actually being an elderly lady I like to try to make the best of my appearance (like most ladies) however the room did not have a well lit mirror and although the bathroom did, it was on the wall above a shelf and then the wash basin in front of this part of the shelf SO could not get near enough to put on my make up. Being red headed with very pale skin this was very important to how I felt before I faced each day.

Large range of dushes to choose from for breakfast. Ample supply of toiletries. Plenty of free parking.
Breakfast was poorly cooked, e.g. the eggs in Eggs Benedict for both of us were cold. This is the first hotel we have stayed where we have been served streaky bacon for breakfast, and this was over cooked. The shower only ran tepid or cold. The hotel was hard to find in the first place, but then the location was excellent.
