Lovely modern design, room was decorated beautifully and the bar and restaurant facilities were exceptional.
I particularly liked the fact that my room was decorated in a modern style and even though I had the cheapest room available, I still had an amazing sea view from my window. The facilities were also excellent. I was able to enjoy a lovely hot bubble bath and really pamper myself. This trip was impromptu. I booked the room about 20 minutes before arriving. I wasn’t expecting much as the price was so reasonable, but it turned into the weekend getaway I truly needed! I can safely say because of the beautiful location, clean modern rooms with stunning views and polite and friendly staff, I will certainly be returning for another trip.

The suite was great, comfortable and really well appointed. Staff were helpful and friendly.
We stopped on a night when there was a wedding party in the hotel, and although the reception was being held in the ballroom, many of the guests at the wedding invaded the bar on the ground floor intended for normal hotel guests and the public, unfortunately this bar was only staffed by one person and it was like a cattle market with only wedding guests getting to the bar. The only way we could get served was via the waiting staff in the restaurant. Also the looks we were receiving from some of the wedding party whom were hanging around the reception area and considered that the hotel belonged to them for the night were quiet unpleasant..

Hotel was very nice, friendly helpful staff, we ate in the restaurant on the evening we arrived, and the food was excellent and well priced, waiting staff were great. In the morning we went for breakfast and were met by a hostess who explained the buffet style breakfast but pointed out that the only egg option at the hot plate was scrambled and we could ask for poached or fried eggs to be prepared fresh, then she promptly disappeared for ten minutes, so I had to get someone from reception to call for someone from the kitchen. The tea/coffee/hot chocolate machine was a bit of a mystery with no real instructions on use, but I eventually managed to get a cup of tea out of it. Check in and out times were great making things a lot less stressful than some Hotel chains and privately run places.
Other than the issues at breakfast previously mentioned, no worries.

A wonderful setting directly on the seafront. It was a mild Christmas with wonderful sunrises and sunsets - a walk along the beach on Christmas day was a lovely experience! The breakfast each day offered a variety of options and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The bar is great to sit and relax to unwind, with a great food menu which we sampled once!
We were only able to order breakfast from the a la carte on one morning for the whole of our stay, the rest of the time it was a buffet style option which we expected on Christmas and Boxing Day, but not for the remainder of the week.

Rebecca at reception was brilliant. Very friendly and a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was amazing. The mushrooms were unreal, and the poached eggs were perfect. There is plenty of choice buffet style. Our twin room was fine and comfortable. Our friends had a cosy double, which they thought was a bit small. The bar was very nice, along with the food we had. There is plenty of free parking, just register your car while booking in. This was our second stay and won't be our last.
Russ was rude on reception when I asked why the bar was shut early. Was supposed to be open until 12.45 . Lack of people skills.

Breakfast was good value for money. The staff were invaluable at the bar, reception and dining area but couldn't do enough to help us. The way that they have stood out to me as an exceptional company was through their fantastic communication. I contacted the reception staff through Booking.com, and within minutes, I received a reply. I left my electric toothbrush in the room when rushing around to checkout. Within 3 days, my toothbrush was located, stored safely and returned to my home address. This goes above and beyond what any other hotel woudl ahe doen for me, I am very greatful!

The room had a sea view and a comfortable King size bed. Breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent value for money. The location is on the sea front with the town centre and the SOL within walking distance. If you want to leave the car, the bust stops for Sunderland and South Shields are on the doorstep. We've stayed at this hotel a number of times and it has always been enjoyable.
My only comment would be, it would have been nice to have a small table and two chairs beside the window to enjoy the view.

Position was very good, opposite the beach and opposite the bus stop into town, there is a bar at the front near reception with indoor and outdoor areas. Lovely views from all public areas There is a restaurant where breakfast is also served and the breakfast is excellent. .
The bed, mattress was not well sprung and too soft. Bedroom was a little small and hot but had everything you needed, bathroom was a good size and water was hot with great pressure. No view just side of buildings.

Location was perfect, the staff were exceptional especially Ian on Reception and the young gentleman on breakfast duty Sunday 3/11/24 we changed our twin room as it faced back of hotel and room was a bit tired, we was informed that they are going to upgrade all rooms. We paid for upgrade and got a fabulous room with sea view, room was large nicely done, big queen sized bed so big enough to share with my cousin, bathroom was big had both bath and separate shower, breakfast was good
Wasn’t informed before stay that they was upgrading breakfast room, but we was out all day so really didn’t bother us and Sunday it was finished so we could use it, didn’t really like the twin bedroom as it was looking tired so we paid to upgrade, wow.. In the sea view room, my thoughts would be it could do with new carpet and for me I think the mattress is ready for replacing as I could feel something sticking in on my hip, apart from that fantastic

staff , great, location great. View from my sea view room great until blocked by truck , and transit vans. Bed comfy good quality clean line, ( pillows far too soft for me , but, appreciate you can’t please everyone!! ) quality toiletries a lot of thought ,gone into refurb ok a very old building , lots of up and down stairs, to get to room, but-lift available, and staff offered to help me with luggage. Had dinner in restaurant on 1st night, delicious, and service great, drinks very reasonably. Priced . Second night Tried Italian resuturant on site fabulous and again very well priced Ok it’s a very old building, a bit of noise, from plumbing , but, it’s a hotel, 🤷♂️people are up and about at 6 in the morning, so and we all want a power shower!! No noise from corridors, or neighbouring rooms,
My stay was spoilt by the huge vans, and commercial vehicles, blocking “the sea view” I had paid for, however I did have a chance to discuss with management and was told , it would be escalated, up the chain. Not heard back yet. and feel I should have been given some discount, not the cheapest place to stay, and it was a treat. In all fairness there are signs on the wall asking commercial vehicles to use other car parks, may be this area needs to be addressed. Breakfast , good lots of choice, a bit cold . Contractors working I. Area do some disturbance .
