We stayed in the apartments of Hotel Le Nemours, located just across the street from the main hotel. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of Rennes’ old town, surrounded by charming cobblestone streets, cafés, restaurants, and plenty of amenities, all just a short stroll away. One thing to note (which we unfortunately overlooked in the fine print) is that the apartment building has no elevator. My husband suffers from back pain, so this was a bit of a challenge. We were on the first floor, and while the staircases were a little tricky, we only had to manage trolleys up one and a half flights of stairs. After a five-day boating trip through Brittany, we really appreciated the extra space the apartment offered. It was spotlessly clean, with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and tasteful décor. As a family of four, our boys slept on the sofa bed in the living room while we had our own bedroom. The beds were comfortable, and our windows looked out over a quaint cobblestone street—absolutely lovely. My parents-in-law stayed in the main hotel and had a wonderful time, though they did mention the rooms there were on the smaller side (which is quite typical in France). All in all, Hotel Le Nemours is a great choice in a charming town. We skipped the hotel breakfast and instead enjoyed a cozy little café just down the road from our building—simple, delicious, and full of local charm.
One thing to note (which we unfortunately overlooked in the fine print) is that the apartment building has no elevator.

- The location was great, just a few minutes away from the old town and the airport bus stopped around the corner. Even the train station was within walking distance. - The staff was fabulous. - Everything was clean and well maintained. - The breakfast was a buffet and featured enough choice for a full tummy to last for hours afterwards. - OK, this may sound like it was the perfect hotel but one has to remember that this is a three star property and lacks the gyms and bars and what have you, if you need those or consider those important.. I gave this nine points as I don't need those and what I got was to my liking. Simple, clean, good price/quality ratio and very friendly staff. The room (503 in top floor) was fine for one (tall) person but not very large. Keeping those in mind, the experience is a joy. - There are lots of restaurants, shops, bars and sights within a few steps. - But all in all I would definitely return here.
As mentioned, the room size was a bit limited. One thing that made the space feel more limited was the fact that the smallish room had a separate toilet and bathroom which I found somewhat unusual. Everything is relative, of course. Apples and oranges and all that. But did I go to Rennes to stay in my room? Nope. .

Everything was beautiful, stylish and ultra clean. The room was well supplied with body wash, coffee, tea sugar. Free filtered water downstairs. The staff were so professional and helpful. Nothing was too much of a problem. Beds were so comfortable. Blockout screen for night time as well as double or triple glazed windows. Water super hot and strong pressure. Having a bath tub was also such a luxury. And the price was amazing for everything we got. Incredible central location near supermarket, laundromat, cafes, transport , shipping malls and everything you need.
A little fridge would have been great and stronger lighting in the room, especially in the wardrobe area.

Clean, good location. Very nice hotel.
Room had inconsistent temperatures. Hotel provided plug in heater which was helpful. ‘Cozy’ room is very small. Not good for larger clientele. Toilet on one side of room, had to walk (squeeze) past bed to get to basin in bathroom would be more hygienic to have a small basin in the loo. Would be good if coffee facilities are made available at all hours rather than hotel staff having to provide, but it’s a minor complaint.

Location was excellent easy walking distance of the City Centre. Breakfast was excellent definitely continental, with a really good variety of pastries, etc. (FYI No full english for those that enjoy it)
There is no downside to this Hotel and location other than parking. If you intend drive, parking in Rennes on a daily basis is extortionate. Recommend taking a week ticket leave the car and using tram or metro to get around. Park in Colombier and go to the Bureau de Park and take a week ticket E30. 5-10 minutes walk from hotel.

Room very clean, modern and comfortable. Very central location, 2 minute walk from Republique metro. Staff very friendly and helpful. As we arrived early, our luggage was stored until our check in. After checking out, we had left a personal item behind and we got a phone call to inform us, which allowed us to return to collect it. 10 out of 10 fir customer service.
Everything was great.

Lovely staff, lobby and decor, rooms were sunny, beautiful view through french windows down onto shops and three wonderful restaurants. The train station is walking distance and two blocks away is the Marche, open every day with prepared and fresh food.
Our only stumble was working out the taps and the low water pressure.

Very well situated. Clean and comfortable with renovated amenities. This was a good place to stay for discovering Rennes. We were accommodated with a cot for our baby that was already installed in the room upon our arrival. The employees that welcomed us were kind, proficient and professional - perfect.
We stayed in one of the larger apartments situated around the corner from the main hotel. For families with strollers, note that the entrance to the building is VERY small with a very narrow staircase immediately at the entrance door. The fact that there are stairs is noted in the description, but it should specify just how narrow they are: if you have a baby and a stroller, you cannot use the stairs with both - it’s tight enough just for one person as it is. It’s also not possible to leave the stroller in the entrance since there is no space. Also, breakfast was a bit lackluster. While delivered to the room directly in the morning (a great luxury!), we were expecting the products to be a bit better quality for the price (14€/person).

The 2 bed Hortense apartment was lovely. Very clean, lovely big ensuite bath off one room and shower ensuite off the other. Close to all amenities and parking, even though restrictions apply, on road, was easy. Lovely welcome at the hotel on arrival and very smooth checkout. Really good experience. Clear instructions on how to utilise in room facilities and warm and welcoming facilities. Pet friendly was a very welcome added bonus!
Anyone with mobility issues may find the stairs up to the apartment, a small distance from the hotel, difficult. I broke my hip in June and my arm in November and although mostly, completely mobile, did struggle. The dogs struggled too 😃. Small displeasure: pillows on bed a bit hard and not 'sink into able' Small issue, great stay.

The welcome and helpfulness of the staff: comfortable beds and all great. Didn’t try breakfast as had an early train but they ordered me a taxi which was early and the driver was very helpful with my suitcase etc. Good use of water with a fountain downstairs and a water bottle for refilling - no plastic and all directions in recycled wood! Would definitely stay again.
The bedroom was tiny. I literally had to sidle around the bed but apart from that it was all lovely.
