Breakfast was excellent and most of staff very obliging. Would be nice if the facility offered a comfortable lounge/bar where you could sit with a drink and enjoy the view. Also the menu provided from midday to 9pm was not very varied and seemed to be mainly fast food not for older guests.

What I definitely didn't like was, having paid a large amount of money for a two week stay that even though I have a blue badge it was an extra £15 per 24hours extra!! On top of this it cost us more money on Taxi's to take us to railway or bus stations, as couldn't move car incase we were unable to get back in parking garage and the alternative was a multi storey approximately quarter mile away NOT for the disabled.

Clean, comfortable and great position on the seafront - the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was average but ok.

We booked a table for lunch in the Deller restaurant online before we travelled there (confirmed by email and reminder email sent to me the day before) however when we arrived we were told they don’t do food at lunch time despite my booking and the welcome card in the room stating an all day menu was available from 12 midday. We were directed to the Mercury hotel next door (where we had a very nice meal). Unfortunately we had a disabled person in our group and it was very difficult for them to walk to the next hotel. Suggest you look at your advertising and online presence to correct the information for other clients. Very disappointing start to our visit. To add insult to injury I have received a feedback for the restaurant today

It’s very clean and staff very polite and always ready to help

It wasn’t good not being told there wasn’t a chef on Friday or sat night as he was day off on a weekend!! Not good the sat we booked a table next door in mercure where Alex hardy was polite helpful and always ready to help. Plus . In the ibis it’s not good when the barman tells you he’s not trained enough to sell bar snacks which so crazy it’s u real!!! Plus in breakfast on the sat morning having to wait ten minutes while it’s being filled up from mercure is not good. The hotel as been opened for 2-3 weeks and the poor lady and ayden was rushing round to do a lot of jobs is not good. I don’t normally complain but this weekend we was really looking forward to it. But I guess it’s teething problems but the bar made up for that on sat afternoon

The room was modern, clean and spacious. The bathroom was clean and well designed. Towels new, clean, and they were changed daily. The location is very close to the beach and the town. There is plenty of parking nearby. The breakfast was good. There is a small, but acceptable gym that was empty the entire time I was there.

The rooms are far too hot and the temperature controller won't allow lower temperatures to be set. I stayed in December and February and both times I found sleeping difficult due to the very heavy duvets and unreasonably warm room temperature.

The location was very good, within minutes we were on the seafront. We also enjoyed sitting on the balcony at the front of the hotel, near the bar. The room was a good size with plenty of storage. The breakfast was well cooked but limited to what you could have but you need to have more than 1 small toaster available. Staff were very good but very understaffed. 1 person on the bar when the room is full to capacity is not good.

The carpark is too small and if you couldn't park in the side street next to the hotel the only other parking we found was on the seafront, which is not good if you have to pull suitcases. It would have been nice to have been pre warned that we had to pay a weeks carparking in advance to the hotel. The instructions on the lift were also confusing, B1 and B2 and 0 meant nothing and other guests were also complaining.

The advert said everything included no charges on booking .com. With all the filter requirements put in. On arrival at 11pm late ( after a family death travelling from Birmingham we were expected to pay £15 for the dog.. there was no space to park our car so night staff said it was ok to park at side of hotel.. next morning we had a parking ticket and staff member was queried more money for parking our car on their complex.. utter con .. we need to come back in 3 weeks for a funeral but can’t afford all these add ons plus we now have a parking fine.. Paignton is waiting to trip the tourist up to top up on money cow tactics.

I originally booked the Ibis Styles Paignton Spa, however I received a phone call the a few days before our visit to say they are giving us a complimentary upgrade to their sister hotel; Mercure Paignton Hotel. Upon checking in, the gentlemen at reception informed us he had complimentary upgraded our room to a Sea View Room as we were there to celebrate my partners birthday (21 again). Throughout our stay, we were greeted with smiles and warmth from the people at reception, bar staff, waitress staff, house keeping, maintenance man - all were really welcoming. The breakfast was lovely - so much choice and variety! There were always staff available if we needed anything. The room was gorgeous with a comfy bed and beautiful view! We will definitely be visiting again.

I thought the hotel was absolutely fabulous and in an amazing position , the staff were lovely, our bedroom was a Privilege room with amazing views across the bay, the bed was comfortable I loved all the little things extra you get for four stars.I also enjoyed breakfast but we didn't eat here for an evening meal but I would have done though. But the main thing is I would come back again I liked it!

I hate to be negative there was a few things I didn't like , the air conditioning in our room 405 seem to gurgle all night and was constantly filling up I don't know anything about air conditioning I'm sure it shouldn't have been doing that, I am noise sensitive I don't like any noise at night but I had to switch the air conditioning on to stop it doing it. There was not one hanger in a room anywhere which I thought was a bit weird and also the shower was very slow pressure all right if you're not in a hurry!

I cannot fault a thing- from pre booking -- to arrival -- everything and everyone was amazing .. The staff are second to non--- I work in hospitality and they are some of the best ... not over the top, but nothing too much trouble -- friendly and welcoming.. Ibis need to look after them ------ !! Breakfast was amazing for the price --- limitless -- coffee -- food -------even poached eggs delivered by the chef !!

Nothing at all -- well perhaps windows to open but know that not possible. The lovely beauty lady not working Monday and Tuesday !!! she seemed so nice -- will definitely be back to try it ............................
