The room was well appointed although the microwave oven in our room did not work. We were on the 9th floor facing north and the view was very good. We did discover a couple restaurants within walking distance that were moderately priced and very good: one a brewery/sports bar, one authentic Mexican cuisine. Parking is complementary in an adjacent parking garage.

There were two elevators, but one was out of order which created some issues since we were there for a conference and there would be predictable surges in the need for the elevator. There is no breakfast offered at this facility.

Was disappointed in loud construction in lobby. Dining room could be more inviting aesthetically. Room was very clean and modern with great views of bridges and Hudson River. Very nice beds- very comfortable bedding and pillows. Shower and bathroom were top notch! Great bar with full options and excellent service. Pretty good food choices for dine in or take to room. Parking garage was super convenient and included in price. Really liked quick and easy in and out with room key. Location is less than half a mile to beautiful waterfront park with strolling path and great restaurant with water view and both bridges, outdoor patio called Governess. Be sure to fine dine at Shadows on the Hudson also within a mile of hotel with amazing food, service and spectacular views of the Hudson and bridge at night is gorgeous.

You can never really go wrong with DoubleTree by Hilton hotels. This was a great location for what we wanted to see in the area. The staff were really good. One member of the staff by the name of Avery was exceptional. Avery was thoughtful and an extremely attentive member of staff during breakfast. The rooms were very nice and clean and had all the amenities required.

Unfortunately, it seemed like we arrived when they were doing a major retrofit of the hotel. The front entrance was not accessible and we had to use side fire exits. Also, we could hear a lot of the building work during breakfast. The area also felt a bit sketchy. Not to the point we felt unsafe, but it did occasionally make us wary.

The room was very spacious and quiet. The hotel is located walking distance from the train station. The breakfast was very good and reasonably priced.

It was not possible to adjust or switched off the air conditioner in the room. It could be sorted out through the reception. If asked, the engineer came to turn it off. For someone not used to conditioners, the room was too cold with it on.

Rooms are very comfortable and clean. I love the new renovations. The bathroom was spotless and love the amenities...felt like a resort hotel. This is my third stay in three months and the hotel staff has always been amazing!

My only complaint was that the room thermostat did not allow for any changing of the temperature. The allowed range was as low as 65 degrees and it wouldn't let me decrease the temp. I'd change it to 65 (I was sweltering) on the screen and it would show but it wouldn't go down in actuality...it actually went up to 74, which feels very warm when there's no circulation or fresh air. Maybe check the thermostats or add more directions for adjusting.

The room was clean, comfortable and pretty spacious, equipped with a coffee maker and a fridge, with a good supply of toiletries in the bathroom. The hotel is located close to the Metro-North train station.

There was a pretty loud fan in the room. It didn't bother me but could be a nuisance for somebody else. I didn't receive the information about the deposit prior to the stay.

We were fortunate to have someone at the front desk that went above and beyond in making our stay so great. While all the customer service people were very good, Ana Diaz’s customer service skills, communication skills and people skills were exemplary. Those skills, combined with her knowledge of the hotel, surrounding area, restaurants and sites of interest to us were wonderful and something we were able to rely on. We noticed other hotel staff would look to her as a leader when we needed something I would highly recommend The Grand Hotel to anyone because of Ms. Diaz.

Heat and hot water. There was construction going on the 10th floor that may have affected those.

We arrived a bit early but the staff was very helpful and put us up in the room. We had a nice room which was pretty spacious. They were giving out cookies and there was a vegan option! How thoughtful! The room also had a nice view of bridges.

The breakfast looked pretty good but there wasn't much of vegan options. I could have had a bagel if they had a margarine.

We were going to see Jo Koy right there in the County Center next door and decided on the location out of sheer convenience. To our surprise, it was absolutely lovely! The staff are amazing and hospitable. The room was SPOTLESS clean. The sheets smelled fresh and amazing. The bed was comfortable. Even the breakfast was adorable (typical hotel stuff although I would suggest putting a toaster out to toast the bagels). I wish there were more things to do in Poughkeepsie - because I would go back!

Nothing to improve on really. Just perhaps a toaster at breakfast. Everything was great!

Breakfast was good. Don't need 3 eggs per serving. 2 would have been enough. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff.

2 rooms. In one room, TV did not work upon check-in. The other room was warm temperature-wise. Should have been cooled, especially on a day when it was 100 degrees outside. However, service was very quick to fix things, except the 10th floor room never really stayed cool. Need suggestions in the room for places to eat in Poughkeepsie.
