We absolutely loved the hotel, such a convenient location, at first we were a little concerned about no breakfast but the fact there is a Greggs literally next door totally made up for that, there was so many shops right next to it as well so we could get any essentials so easily and within walking distance of all sorts of other places and activities. The cleaning staff was lovely and so friendly, the room was lovely and clean, the mattress was ideal and we loved the fact there was good tea and biscuit options already in the hotel room, the dressing table was a lovely touch and honestly the whole vibe of the place was like a home away from home, would 1 million percent stay again ! Oh and there was a fan! Was absolutely thrilled by that as we were concerned about being away from home without one so we were absolutely made up about that! The fact they had sowing kits in the room and cotton buds, shampoo, conditioner, soap and bubble bath, was absolutely amazing and so convenient as who wants to travel with bottles that could spill all over. The staff were so friendly and kind and welcoming and were honestly dying to come back!

The only thing I can say that we found negative about the facilities was the fact the taps seemed to run incredibly slow, the bath took about an hour to fill and I'm sure with a little tweak of the water pressure i wouldn't have a single negative point to make, this still wouldn't put us off from returning as the bath itself was amazing and felt so luxurious, massive could even sit cross legged in it, and there was a shower attached to the taps so if in a rush there was an alternative. But yeah, slow taps and very long wait for the bath to fill but other than that would of been a 10/10 ! Still would one hundred percent recommend our room which was the master suite!

Absolutely superb and amazing value for money. Room was a good size, stylish, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Lots of extras that hotel chains have removed over recent years, such as good quality biscuits on the tea/coffee tray, bottled water, individual toiletries, cotton wool buds/balls. It was lacking nothing. We were visiting for a gig at Social, so the location was also ideal. Nice waterfront walk to the venue.

The only thing I didn't like is that our visit was fleeting. It would have been lovely to spend some time in the inviting, traditional pub downstairs... maybe next time.

I booked 2 rooms for ourselves and friends to see the War of the Worlds at Hull. The location was fantastic - just across the road and a 10 minute walk to Hulls old town. The facilities were outstanding. I have very rarely come across a property where you could genuinely say it was possible to eat off the floor but this property did it. After check in we met up with our friends and the first thing we said to each other was 'you could eat off any surface'. The whole place was pristine. The second thing we said was the beds were so comfy. Next -the staff. They were top notch, friendly, professional and willing to go the extra mile for the guests. When we arrived back after the show we had a couple of drinks in the bar and were made very welcome despite the late hour. We booked a table for lunch the following day and were allowed to stay in our rooms till the pub opened for lunch ( this was really convenient for us as my partner is disabled and was feeling shattered after the concert). The food was loverly, freshly cooked, tasty and very good value - we got the last table for 12.00 noon and all time slots were booked up after that. The Whittington and Cat will now be our goto accommodation when staying in Hull. Highly recommended.

We stayed at The Whittington & Cat for a short break in November as a romantic getaway. We absolutely adored our stay and will definitely be planning to return! The facilities are extremely clean, the bed was one of the comfiest beds I had slept on and the customer service we received was exceptional. We were welcomed upon arrive by the host in the main pub, where she explained clearly where our room was and how to use the key cards. Once we entered out room we were taken aback at how beautifully decorated the room was, and how luxurious it felt for such an affordable stay. Parking was easy to navigate, we parked within the large retail park, this was covered by the property once we checked in. The location for us was perfect. We visited The Deep aquarium and wondered around Hull, the host was very informative prior to our departure on where we needed to go and recommended routes. We also visited York town, which was an hours drive away. Everything about this property exceeded our expectations and we are very much looking forward to our next stay! Thank you!

It is hard to name any improvements at all on this property, but if I was forced to, I would say that the option of breakfast would have completed this for us, or the use of a mini fridge within the room.

Don't expect a beautiful area or a lovely view to look out at, as this pub is in a very industrial part of Hull. However once you're in the hotel, you just don't care! Rooms are comfortable, very clean and warm, lovely shower and the staff seem mainly helpful. I ate there too and can confirm that the food is delicious. Proper simple pub food and well cooked. They even had a little folk festival going on in the pub area that night. Good value for money and a very comfortable stay.

Very slightly annoying at the end when I could have done with help taking my suitcases downstairs (as there is no lift). I rang the pub number to be told they couldn't help me as officially they were closed!! This is a bit ridiculous as the pub may be closed but it doesn't mean the guests at the hotel part should be left with no help, seeing as the staff were literally downstairs. And then they said I would be helped but I would have to wait 10 minutes. It was 11.50am and they wanted me to wait until 12pm!! Hmm OK! I decided not to wait as I needed to get driving the long drive home. Just a little niggle that could have been avoided but I guess it depended on which staff you deal with. The guy I met at the start was fab and helped me with my case despite me being "early!...

I liked the fact it was a traditional old pub with plenty of character. Reviews I read were really good, and it was quite difficult getting to book a weekend due to being full. Great indicator of popularity. So opted for weekdays. You could tell the owners, really cared for this pub it was so clean and food good too, not to mention great price for 2 nights!

Couldn’t really find a fault. We were ok with no breakfast being provided. There were plenty of lovely places in old town and marina.

We came down to Hull from Edinburgh for one night for a concert. The staff that greeted us were all lovely and really helpful. Room was super clean, shower was good too. I'm heavily pregnant and had the best night sleep in ages as the bed was sooo comfy. We came back after the gig so my partner could get a pint. Was such a nice atmosphere, the landlord and the locals were all really lovely too. Overall had a really great stay.

I wouldn't say we didn't like anything but I think my husband wished the bar was opened later haha.

Really fantastic overall. Lovely pub and building, all staff super very friendly and helpful. Had such a lovely evening in the pub, and chatted to other friendly customers. My room was great - clean and comfortable. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel.

The only thing I didn't like was the terrible noise from traffic most of the night. I like to sleep with the window open, and had to get up and close the window early in the morning as it was unbearable noise. But I guess the location makes it unavoidable.

I loved how friendly all the staff were and super helpful! The bed was extra comfy especially the extra fluffy cover I slept like a baby. It was a last minute booking and the owner was so accommodating to my mum and I! Such an amazing price for what you get included into this stay. Had so many cute extras that were handy you can tell there has been extra care and love put into this place. On top of everything the food was amazing :)Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Hull and needing a comfy/spacious room!

The only thing which was very VERY minor was the shower going from really hot to cold when showering but it would sort itself when you waited.

Really wasn't expecting such a nice room & pub. We stayed in the twin room. The room was immaculately clean. Plenty of plug sockets by the beds. The hotel is next to a very busy main road however we couldn't hear ANYTHING, very good windows for blocking out noise. Really nice room decor, and an extra nice touch was the cookies and bottled water. Really appreciated. Would stay here again next time I'm in Hull, will recommend to everyone. A short walk from the city centre and Connexin Live. Really nice regulars in the pub too who recommended places to eat & visit nearby, it was an ideal nightcap having a beer before going to bed. Staff are lovely and the pub has a nice atmosphere. My only regret was not trying a meal in the pub, everything looked and smelled delicious. Thanks for having us, we'll be back again!
