The food at the restaurant was amazing I had the calamari entree to die for so fresh And the battered barramundi was great too . A great view across from the beach and overlooking Hitchenbrook. And 10 - 15 min away from the spa rock pool and Atties creek falls . The locals are so friendly and full of stories and laughs Loved our stop over.

Hotel was a 2 km walk from train station so a bit inconvenient if you don't have a car but walk along the sea front was spectacular and we came to Cardwell to walk on Hinchinbrook Island so no problem. Hotel offered to pick us up from station if needed. Nice room with all usual amenities plus access to laundry in attached caravan park. The on site restaurant is probably the best in Cardwell and excellent value. Best garlic bread I have ever had and their Lamb pizza was brilliant. My partner also raved about the barramundi. Very nice atmosphere with a mix of older grey nomads and families from the caravan park and couples from the hotel/motel. Typical friendly country vibe. Looked after our spare bags whilst walking the Thorsborne Trail

A bit of a walk into town if you don't have a car. During school holidays kids tend to dominate the pool area.

Lovely location overlooking the sea. We had a king room, so the bed was very comfortable and the room was large. It was lively to fall asleep to the sounds of sea waves

We were disappointed that the restaurant was not open , as Cardwell does not have s great choice of places you can eat in. And we were looking forward to a nice relaxing meal. Turns out the restaurant is now closed on Mondays

Honestly We love this place, unfortunately this time we got in late and left early but the room was clean cm, the bed was comfortable , the shower was great and the location perfect (well almost, we’d love to swim in the ocean)

Modern, clean and comfortable.

The air conditioning in the room wasn’t very effective. It kept coming on and off (would be nice if it just gave a steady output) and didn’t make the room cool enough (could have done with it being a degree or two cooler at night). It was positioned so it blew straight onto one of the beds.

Clean and comfortable. Good bed. Pool is lovely. The staff from the receptionist, grounds people and restaurant staff were exceptional, friendly and efficient. Food at the restaurant was excellent. The espresso martini the best.

Great location and staff and rooms were awesome. Pool was perfect and refreshing.

The restaurant was mediocre, visited a few times now the first time food was great the last couple was terrible, for the price you want decent food.

Wonderful location and good on-site restaurant for dinner. Easy to walk out the front door and across the street to watch the sunrise over the ocean. My young sons loved the swimming pool, which had a great big shallow area for my baby to play on. Would happily stay here again.

The location is fantastic and rooms are comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The restaurant has a delicious menu - including lamb shanks Rogan Josh - and we enjoyed spending happy hour with other travellers. Great service and prices were reasonable.
