I like that the hotel is farther down the main street so it does get quieter at night and you can hear the ocean. My bed felt comfortable and I like they are pretty generous with the toiletries in the bathroom. Have stayed before on the lower floor, this time was on the upper. I feel like the top floor has thinner walls because I could hear our neighbors talking in the evening, any time someone in an a joining room used the shower or toilet you had to close your bathroom door because it was somewhat loud from the water running and the doors closing to other rooms sounded like they were slamming them each time. Overall though a decent stay for a decent price. Would stay again.

I first stayed at this location, in 1987, and perhaps that has something to do, with me just finding like I feel at home.
I’m 64, travelled to 6 countries, and many states, and this is only the second location that has initially refused me service, because my Booking account is under the name Bill, but my drivers licence says William. This is an accepted abbreviation since the Normans conquered England, in 1066! As a non citizen myself, I understand the gentleman may not be familiar with the nuances of this, and several, great countries. Someone might not be so persuasive in the future, and be denied their rightful booking, create an ugly scene, and been left stranded many miles from home.

We got there and checked in at 8:30 p.m. so we actually got the last available room. I didn't realize initially that we needed to specify a pet friendly room, so the mistake was mine, but they were still kind enough to accommodate us and asked us to take extra care of a non-pet friendly room. The room was upstairs and really cute. Nice decorations and bright fresh accent wall paint, with a cute seashell trim along the ceiling. The room was very clean and the heater worked well. We stayed there in November, so it got very chilly at night. I was thankful for the heater. The staff was kind and very friendly.
The only reason I did not give them a perfect 10 is because the bed was extremely firm. I loved the cute comforter they had on the bed, but the bed itself was hard as a rock. Hubby and I both woke up with backaches.

Good location, close to stores and resturants. Outside grounds are well kept. Room had an ocean vibe.
We had a special request for a downstairs room due to the fact that my husband can not climb stairs. When we checked in clerk gave us a room up stairs. Said he never got a special request. Yet my printout had special request with room downstairs. We were not happy with this arrangement. My husband had a very hard time going up and down the stairs. We had to limit the times we went out.

Excellent otherwise. Great value and fantastic location. Friendly staff and easy check-in. The bed was comfortable. The location is excellent, with just a 5-minute walk to the boardwalk. I am staying here again in August.
This room has some water heater issues. I took a shower between 5-6pm before dinner or so. I ran the water in the shower for 20 minutes before hot water was coming through. This was the only glitch on the whole stay. Also, the ceiling insulation is thin. The upstairs occupants could be heard walking around pretty well. This might be expected given the hotel age.

The bed was so comfortable to sleep on after not sleeping at all the previous night (due to a bad experience at a different motel). Also, the guy in charge was kind enough to let my husband and I check-in early so we could take a nap (again, we had not slept at all the previous night). Before we went inside our room, we could see the cleaning ladies cleaning our room really well; we could even smell the cleaning products so we felt better about staying here.
Wish there was a fan for the room but luckily I brought my own from home.

The owners are always working to update and improve their rooms. I normally stay here with a dog since they have dog friendly rooms. The owner is visible through the days and evenings. They were putting new beds in rooms while I was staying- so that is cool too.
No complaints. It's not a fancy hotel, but it is close to town, great view of the rock, and has all that you may need during your stay

The room was clean, and the location was all within in walking distance of the pier, shops and restaurants. Some places were closer than other I believe the longest we walked was about 20 minutes still we could walk from the water from park to Dockside in 15-20 minutes.
If I had to be picky the sofas in the room could use a deep cleaning or be replaced but we did not spend a lot of money on the room, we most were out and about so it was not a big deal.

The motel itself is beautiful, quaint and nicely decorated with a beach theme. The location is excellent, close to downtown shops and the walking distance to the Embarcadero. There are several good restaurants nearby as well, all within walking distance. It was quiet and peaceful with great views from the upper floors. This place is also pet friendly, although there is a small fee for pets. We will be staying here again on our next trip!
Everything was great! One of the better places we have stayed in on our travels!
