It’s an old world hotel modernized with regard to the infrastructure and the lobby. The owner is a motorcyclist and has a magnificent absolutely gleaming Harley Davidson, motorcycle in one part of the lobby and a beautiful iconic Vespa motor scooter in another. He also has on display a 19 century meat and cheese slicer with a great big flywheel and a brass knob that you rotate to Cut the meat and the cheese and it’s completely and utterly restored. It looks better than the day it was made. The breakfast are magnificent, including smoked salmon and real scrambled eggs! The location is right in the heart of the waterfront and absolutely anything you want to do is right there. It’s like staying at the Ritz. Only $1500 a night cheaper! I hated to leave. It’s a wonderful hotel and a wonderful city.

There is nothing I did not like about the place.

The staff were always ready to assist with any inquiry, the breakfast staff always served with a smile and the bedroom cleaner was truly friendly and very helpful. The location of the hotel was the best facing the sea but slightly on the left hand side avoiding any tourist noises! It is Across the road from the famous promenade, minutes from the bars, restaurants, shops. More importantly it is of course across from the boats that take you to the magical Santa Margherita, Portofino and San Fruttuoso which is an absolute gem. Would certainly stay at Astoria when returning to Rapallo!!

It has a perfect location ! In front of the Beach, close to shops, and restaurants . Parking is spacious . The Staff is very attentive and kind as well.

Just a small detail regarding the Breakfast . 1- It is a bit average ( same scramble eggs , same type of bread etc) 2- We also think it would be good to offer plant-based milks , like oat or almond . As we all know, there are so many people who who prefer plant-based milks rather than lactose free milk. We think it would be highly appreciated for so many oat or almond milk lovers :) Thank you for taking this into consideration.

The Italian Riviera is renowned for glitz and glamour. The hotel is nothing less than that and more. From arrival, to greeting by the front office team, the rooms, the view, the location, I could go on and will probably fall asleep writing the so many good things about this hotel. Oh almost forgot the beds are divine to sleep in and the breakfasts. But most of all for us really stand out is the staff. The entire staff are simply amazing. Of course a hotel first impression is the front office and they are totally totally fantastic and awesome. The hotel is not run without the rest of the team, at breakfast, the housekeeping staff are always joyful and always great to wake up to great smiles and warm welcomes. I am sorry almost that I was only there for 3nights and not longer but I feel we found our place in the ligure, one that we will always come back to. Bravo to the whole team. The hotel is just wonderful.

What is not to like?! The property is one of 5 beautiful similar buildings on a wonderful street and location in Rapallo. Excellent base to explore local gems like Santa Margherita Ligure, Recco, and Camogli. Perfect location for everything, including the ferry and the local market along the street on certain days. We got lucky to experience the chocolate festival as well! The room was spacious with a great bathroom and the room had a perfect view right out to the water/beach/sunset. The breakfast is by far the best breakfast we have had at a non-brand name hotel in Europe! And as if it couldn't be any better, then there's the STAFF! Sara started us off on such a positive note with her very helpful and friendly emails prior to arrival, then to meet her in person was the icing on the cake. She is such a lovely caring person and she made us feel like family. She gave us fantastic restaurant recommendations. Elina greeted us also on arrival and when she found out we needed to check in quickly to make the ferry to Portofino (last one of the season), she immediately got us checked in quickly and then went out the door with us to show us exactly where to meet the ferry! And Greta. She is amazing and so friendly and incredibly helpful! We saw her often because she was working a lot, and she always greeted us like we were her brothers and with a big smile on her face. She helped with our requests and even created a small box to help us mail a package while there. All 3 of them helped us greatly while retrieving one of our pieces of luggage that was delayed and then had it placed in the room once it arrived. Needless to say, we loved our 6 days at this property and would come back in a heartbeat! Congrats on a winning place in every aspect and your staff are the best assets of all!

Me and my three adult daughters stayed there during Christmas holiday. We visisted Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure and Rapallo during our 2-night stay. It is a small and classy hotel right in Rapallo's city center and close to the beach. Old time elegance is so charming but of course then the drawback is that walls and doors are not that thick to avoid some noise coming from the other rooms and corridor. The reception stuff was extraordnialy nice. We were mainly served by two ladies (the other one was Elena) and they were always so nice and accomodating. There was no space for parking in front of the hotel, but it was never an issue. We left our luggage on the front door and when we wanted to leave, our car was always waiting in the same place, so kind of a valet parking, which worked so well! Of course, the place itself, Rapallo sure is definitely worth to stay for 1-2 days!

This is one of those hidden gems that you unexpectedly come across during the travel. The hotel is reasonably priced for its 4-star rating. The location cannot be better, right at the main waterfront promenade, around the corner from Rapallo's historic center and train station, easy to reach by the car. The hotel has a private parking that can be reserved ahead of your arrival. Rooms are large and well appointed. We had access to the private terrace and excellent seaside view. Special thank you to the staff. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating, including unexpected convenience of valet parking, where you can just drive your car to the entrance, and someone will help you and move your car into a European-small dedicated parking spot. Ought to mention explicitly one of the hostess - Elina. She really made our stay in Astoria super-special with her sincere - "I am your friendly hostess" attitude, more of a good friend than just a welcoming hotel employee. Welcome aperitif served at the private terrace, help with navigating Rapallo and surrounding area, great advises about our side-trips to Portofino and Cinque Terra - just to name a few... Highly recommend Astoria as your future hub while exploring Liguria, and will definitely stay there on all of our trips there.

Wonderful location in front of the beach , and on Thursday in front of the Market. The views on the beach are great. Very nice building from early 20th century. Large comfortable rooms. The parking is tiny, but the staff takes the car when we arrive and gives it back when needed. Great breakfast. Large rooms.

One surprising mistake : We stayed for 2 nights, but between the two nights, we left the room between 10:00AM and 2:50PM. When we were back, the room was not ready, and the cleaning lady was not easy to find. I had to go down to the reception to get clean towels. Very surprising for a hotel of this level. (On the opposite : the day we arrived, we had a nap during the afternoon, and they made the room for the second time at the end of the afternoon when we went for dinner)

Location, location, location! Not only was the location accessible to the beach, boats and to the rest of the Italian Riviera, the hotel staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating and approaachable. Our bed was so comfortable we both slept 7 hours straight each of the 3 nights we stayed. Our room was kept immaculate, and the breakfast buffet was full of variety, including fresh fruit and locally baked goods.
