Bren the assistant manager was amazing. He stepped in when we first arrived early to drop in our bags and sorted a miss communication with the front office for us straight away. He changed our first impression around completely and went out of his way to make our stay feel welcoming and personal. Bar staff were also fabulous. Effortlessly efficient and very friendly.

Apart from a small confusion over whether we could leave our bags early are only other issue was with the spa. We had emailed to request a spa for each couple staying at the same time so that we could enjoy the area to ourselves. We ended up with the four of us in the one spa and another four people in the spa next to us. It was ok. The spa attendant did his best to make it fun but it wasn’t the experience that we expected.

It is simply beautiful here. The staff Bren on reception with Lek they were amazing. Looked after us very well. The view from our room over the Lough Ree is stunning especially at sunset. The bed is extremely comfortable, heaps of space and the bathroom floor is heated. We had a hot tub spa with sparkling wine looking over the lough and that was fun. Even having a dip in the cold water of the lough was great, reward after was the hot sauna. Well worth it. We had dinner and it was absolutely delicious. Would recommend the Seafood Chowder and the duck. The town of Athlone is only a 5 minute drive away and is home to the Oldest Pub in Ireland.

We could only stay one night which we weee sad about. The shower head needs to be a big bigger.

Amazing service and facilities! We booked in for a special occasion and were made feel very special throughout our stay. Lunch in the bar was gorgeous. We then went out to the sauna and hot tub looking out on the lake and were given several glasses of Prosecco, we were looked after so well by Andrew here. We had a gorgeous main course and dessert for dinner in the restaurant, the lemon chicken was spectacular! I was very grateful to the staff for again making our celebration special with a huge sparkler in my partners dessert and a balloon display on the table. We booked treatments in the spa for the following morning which was also lovely. Overall it was an amazing stay, the staff were so attentive and welcoming! We will definitely return!

Absolutely amazing spot from the location and views, to their amazing staff and the food everything is just amazing. You walk in and instantly feel at home everyone is so welcoming and makes you feel so special. We had big celebrations on our stay and all the staff made it feel so special for us both. From the receptionist who welcomed us on arrival to the manager in the restaurant and his team you guys are an absolute credit to the owners and management team. We sadly only had one night and stayed in the most amazing suit, but we will be back to stay again. We haven’t stoped talking about our stay!!

Absolutely nothing!!

Food was superb, Room was amazing though could do with a little revamp and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The bar was so cosy - I loved the fires and the view so much. I loved the overall experience and would definitely go back again.

The hot tub wasn't very hot and neither was the room that we waited in beforehand which is why we didnt go into it after the hot tub. It was also a shame that the pool had to be paid for in order to use the facility. I realise that the pool is small so I understand the reasoning behind this decision but it was disappointing. The staff in both the spa and at the hot tub were really lovely though. Andrew was a lovely lad - very friendly and chatty.

All the staff were amazingly friendly. The food was nice in the restaurant and the setting on the lake is stunning. Breakfast in the room at no additional charge is a really great touch.

The room was quite noisy- we could hear the guests in the room next to us talking clearly and their TV on, we could also hear a lot of noise from the bar & staff downstairs (sounded like dragging chairs along the floor for a couple of hours) Maybe we got unlucky with the particular room we were in but it did disrupt the peaceful experience several times throughout our stay.

Everything the service is outstanding in this family run hotel. Nothing to dislike

The location is stunning. The staff are really friendly. Food was lovely. Welcome drink on arrival and snacks in the room. Lovely relaxed feel in the hotel. Wine options fantastic. Jacuzzi was lovely experience.

We booked the jacuzzi and plunge pool both for 25e each. You only get 30 minutes in each. That was okay for the jacuzzi but for the plunge pool you definitely need more time. We were asked to leave the plunge pool after 30 minutes. I've never been timed before in a thermal suite and 30 minutes including relaxation area is just not enough time. If charging should be at least 1 hour. The lunch menu is very pricing.

The lakeside location is beautiful, comfortable rooms with incredible views. The infinity pool and spa were very nice. All the food and drinks we tried were of high quality. What really makes Wineport Lodge so special is the staff. Every single staff member we interacted with were so friendly and made you feel like they genuinely wanted to help. We will definitely return, next time for a longer stay!

Everything was perfect.

Breakfast was delicious. Enjoyed it very much. The setting the Hotel is situated on is beautiful and the makes for a lovely spot to sit and relax with a drink or two. The bed was super comfortable, I had a great sleep. The staff are all so friendly and extremely welcoming.

The room was a little small, not much room around the bed when 2 people getting ready / changed etc. The quality of dinner was not quite as high as I had expected for the price.
