I wanted to do a little cycling alongside the canal. The village nearby has been upgraded recently and now represents some of the best of the midlands of Ireland. The canal bridle path is really lovely for walking or cycling. The renovation of the old miller's house (-subsequently a Garda (police) station) was absolutely outstanding. Very sympathetic and the best police station that I have slept in!

We need to know that check-in is a late 17:00 when making reservation. Also, whilst breakfast was lovely it seemed that I was a little late at even 08:10-- I got caught up in writing a report earlier in the morning. Offsetting this, they encouraged me to leave my car whilst I went off on the bicycle. Contrary to Booking.com listing, there is ample private parking on site.

We stayed in the glamping huts. Very novel. The hut was cosy, warm, comfortable and very clean. All amenities were available. The staff provided a brand new electric hob for use without my asking for it. Lovely location overlooking the old Cistercian Abbey. We had a great view of the farm, horse riding, and a very friendly little cat called to visit! Kids delighted with our stay and the novelty of tables / couches transformation into v comfy beds!

Nothing to dislike about our stay.

I wanted a quaint quiet night away and this was pure bliss 😊 , from the amazing view of the country side , to the details of the room which was spacious, super warm , and a bath to soak in , it was a little slice of heaven for me , also close to center parks if your looking to head to the spa for the day and then a cosy night stay after by yourself or maybe with friends or partner. The bed was super comfortable and I had the best nights sleep I've had in a long time . Susan was so pleasant to deal with and would definitely recommend anyone that's thinking of staying.

December 2024

Despite us arriving late on Christmas eve, Susan took the time to show us around and explain everything. Everything was really nice.

The pictures of the shepherds hut (from the outside) are not properly shown. I think it would be best to give an idea that shepherd huts are located a bit away from the main property. The boiler ran out of warm water rather quickly in the morning. If you are a company of two people, it may be just about enough.

The stay wasn't what we were expecting but ended up being very nice. We thought this would be a room in the house but ending up being a glamping travel trailer cabin (advertisement information wasn't clear on accomodations and photos only depicted the guest house interior). However, the glamping trailer/cabin was very cozy, relaxing and inviting.

The only adjustments I would recommend is a more clear description of the accommodations and photos to avoid potential issues.

Breakfast was wonderful. The other guests were delightful and then my brother and sister and I stayed to talk to the owners about Irish history and the house--very very interesting. Food was over the top good.

There was nothing that didn't meet our expectations. We arrived very late after getting lost and Susan was so welcoming and wonderful to talk to.

When we booked, it said "chalet", but actually it was like an old horse-drawn caravan but brand new. Very charming, and surrounded by (secure) meadows with sheep, horses and cows. Lovely.

There was no microwave, but honestly that's no big deal, we had a kettle and an air-fryer.

The most gorgeous and quiet setting for a lovely b&b.The room and bathroom were beautifully decorated. Wish we had been staying for a few more nights. The family were friendly and lovely to talk to. Extremely accommodating for a family of 5 (including 3 young kids)

We had a lovely couple of nights staying at Abbeyview with Susan. It is particularly well-located near the Royal Canal. Breakfast was very good, including a plate of very nicely presented fresh fruits. It is a short walk to the nearby pub for evening meals.

The house is beautiful. The hosts were very welcoming and warm. The decor was stunning. Congrats on your beautiful home. Would definitely stay again.

Pillows were a little hard for me but that is personal preference as partner didn’t mind them.
