The hotel is centrally situated, easy to find and the staff were very friendly. The room was lovely, security was great. Really nice idea that you park on the same floor where you are staying, quick and easy!

Their drinks prices were ridiculously expensive. I paid R130 for a double Jameson. A 500ml water was R40. Dont mind paying but be reasonable! My children ordered dessert from room service, a piece of cheese cake took an hour and a half to be delivered, my son's waffle never arrived. They seemed short staffed in the eating area.

Breakfast was average. We enjoyed Omellete.

The room that was allocated for us when we arrived was smelling so bad like the carpet was wet. There was no fringe. The Aircon was not working. It was a hustle getting this sorted out we had to do a lot of follow ups and explaining that we are tired from travelling we want to rest. It was finally sorted out. We then asked for water at the reception and there wasn’t any, we went to restaurant to get the bottles of water and asked to be delivered to the room as it was too hot and we have been doing up and down trying to sort the room but they told us we need to pay extra for water to be bought to our room. We ended up taking the heavy bucket full of water bottles by our self. I mean we just girls 🥺. But then from there everything else was fine, after changing the room we were happy.

Breakfast was good , the variety on offer is great Try to cater for vegetarians , maybe soya sausages Please provide satchet coffee as the filtered coffee is not good

Had a terrible experience whereby guests where fighting outside just below our room. From 2am right until 4am this was going on and we couldn't sleep , your security needs to be more decisive in conflict resolution and remove the transgressors. Also it seems like the person causing the ruckus was a prostitute that a guest brought into the Hotel , this is not good for your business

The rooms were clean, if anything didn’t work (like our Aircon) they fixed it quickly and without hesitation. A huge shout out to the receptionist as I had an urgent need to extend my stay and not only did they extend my stay but I managed to keep my room which was a huge plus as they gave me a complementary upgrade the night before.

If you order room service there is a compulsory R50 delivery fee regardless of what you order. I feel this was a bit of a let down as my order was over R300 so I feel that if I had ordered a drink sure but not when you order 2 meals and drinks. That’s just not right

The view is incredible and the facilities are brilliant, food at the restaurant is good but options are a little limited.

I am still waiting, a month later, for the invoice I requested for company tax reasons with the front desk before checking out.

The hotel is beautiful and luxurious, just as it appears on the pictures. They upgraded my room to a sea facing one, the views were magnificent. It’s close to Gateway mall. We had dinner at their restaurant, they have a buffet, but we opted for ala carte menu, their lamb chops were nicely done, medium to well. 👌🏾

Staff could be more friendlier.

Room was very clean and modern , facilities were exceptional

My AC stopped working after the second day . the drain in my shower had a stench , it went after the maintenance team came out. it started again 2 days later . the need to come to reception every night after spending the day out so they can sort my key out. I was unable to enter my room as I was told that everytime I leave the premises for 30mins or longer , my card deactivates . I find this feature terrible as no person comes to Umhlanga to spend time in their room and never leave . also I had a baby with me and it made it very difficult to then come to reception with a sleeping child .

That you parked on the same level as your room. That the room was spotless, clean and neat and staff friendly. Restaurant was great and room service excellent. Best Mac n cheese I’ve had in years!

The balcony door didn’t lock - also was a bit of a mission traffic wise as one ways and busy road at the bottom but not hotels fault

everything but the food in room service menu. it’s very mediocre

gentleman at checkout. the amount of attitude he gave my husband when my husband asked for the balance of the credit we’d put down for our expenses during the stay. if you have a video please watch it. firstly, saying we can’t get a refund we’ll have to use the balance the next time we stay at one of your establishments and then giving it back when a customer insists on it smells very very fishy, especially when you were not told at check in when you paid the credit that it’s non refundable. it just makes your establishments come across as shady!

The hotel is so stunning, amazing location, we had the view of the ocean from our room. We only had lunch there and the food was really good, especially the fries. My cocktail was also made to perfection. We had a short stay so we didn't get to experience much but definitely booking this hotel our again the next time we in Durban. The bathtub was also a surprise, we did not expect our room to have one at that price.

We couldn't get early check in unfortunately.
