Most of the staff was very helpful- check in was great, pool and yoga classes were perks, and the location to the beach was unquestionably amazing.

Such a silly thing- but as someone who wakes up early, I would have loved to be able to get a coffee. There were no coffee makers, and brewed coffee is included at the attached cafe, but some mornings they weren't open until 7:30. I found an outside cafe that was open a bit earlier, but it just seems like a simple thing to remedy, and a very basic thing I would expect at any caliber of hotel.

Location was great -- very accessible by subway, a CVS right across the street, and just two blocks from the beach. The pool was nice, slightly heated which was appreciated, and poolside service was good. Bed was comfortable. The $55/night amenity fee means it is two people's full time job to be on the beach and set up umbrellas and chairs for you, which is really nice -- especially when ours started blowing over, one of the workers came over and fixed it for us.

The rooms definitely do not have blackout blinds so I was woken up very early each morning, and are on the smaller side -- our room had nowhere to sit apart from the bed. Also no minifridge in the room which I was disappointed by. Cafe in the hotel apparently couldn't make decaf coffee.

Very comfortable bed, cute design and room decor, loved having blankets for the bed, balcony with peekaboo ocean view, good restaurant options, lobby had some kind of perfume that was nice, the toiletries were high-quality and also smelled amazing, welcome drinks, awesome selection of "mini bar" amenities (sheet mask! adaptogenic chocolate! super fun). Close to JFK.

No coffee machine, water kettle, microwave, mini fridge. We thought there might have been drawers under the platform bed but we either couldn't get them to open or they weren't actually drawers. If the latter, I wish there was more storage space! Perhaps in the bigger rooms there is, but even in low season this is a pricey hotel.

Local off-season getaway with the family. It’s all about the weather. We were in luck with some winter sun and somehow it felt super comfortable on the balcony with ocean view. The property is very nice and the public areas are very spacious. The restaurant and rooftop bar are cool and convenient. We came here for the heated outdoor pool and sauna. It would have been nice if this pool was planned on the roof.

It’s not an ocean front property, so you unfortunately have to see less appealing buildings around you from the balcony. Outdoor pool could be a lot warmer, but it all depends on the weather…

Comfortable bed and good shower. Room service ok but had to go and get own coffee /tea as not on menu.

No tea coffee in room or fridge. Housekeeping was issue as floor not swept and no duvet cover, sorted quickly when phoned. Covers on pool side had all been removed so couldn't sit on them. Noisey area with pub opposite , school and functions all weekend. £5 delivery fee for room service which did not even let u get tea/coffee so had to go to coffee shop for that.

New and clean hostel with nice decorations. Great connection to Manhattan with the ferry. 2 minute walk to the beach. Nice restaurants. Great bagels shop around the corner to pick up breakfast or other food.

Rooms were small but we knew that. The pool is open for locals which can be an issue at warm days or weekend days. We were lucky to have a place because we got to the pool in the end of the afternoon. Housekeeping could be better (not enough towels, bathrobes, toilet paper) but upon request everything was arranged. We parked our car in front of the hotel but unfortunately we got a fine because we parked next to a fire pole. We mentioned that we parked in front of the hotel but were not informed by the staff that we were not allowed to park next to the fire pole.

very clean and brand new, exceptionally comfortable mattress! cool hotel shop, wanted everything!

just a few small things were annoying super cheap scratchy toilet paper not a single hanger or place to hang a dress in the room it’s impossible to get the pool bracelet off without a scissors no water glasses or cups in room can’t use under bed drawers because they don’t have handles to pull on door locks at 10 pm but I did not know that and there is no doorbell and staff couldn’t hear me when I was knocking so all small things that become more annoying the older you are and the more you pay for a room

The manager, Alena, was outstanding. She offered amazing customer service. She is such an asset to this hotel. She is totally sincere and dedicated. We even saw her working the valet! The room, which was an upgrade from what we originally booked, was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The pool was amazing! We got lucky with warm weather in October, so having the heated pool open and available was a great surprise plus during our stay. Loved this place!

We ordered an appetizer at the rooftop restaurant. It was a trio dip and unfortunately was a little weird, but the view was amazing.

Everything about this hotel was OUTSTANDING! The staff, from the warm greetings of the Hotel Manager, through to housekeeping were truly wonderful and I felt like they were really investing in making our stay a wonderful one. The location is excellent - Rockaway Beach is a great beach and loved the fact the hotel provided towels, beach chairs, and an umbrella, as well we had bikes to use for rides on the boardwalk. There was always great entertainment - the design was impeccable and funky, the super short walk to the ferry and train into Manhattan was super convenient, parking close by and even a great Boardwalk Deli across the street. The food at the restaurant and pool bar was delicious and the cafe had great breakfast items. I even bought a few things from the store. You could tell this was super well thought out - I feel like the hotel was crafted to deliver an excellent customer experience. I will be thinking about this venue for my future event plans also. GREAT JOB TO EVERYONE WHO WORKS AT THE HOTEL - WARM AND WONDERFUL PEOPLE.

Truly - I cannot think of one single thing.

The Rockaway Hotel is beautiful and has everything you need for a resort vacation. The Spa is exceptional! We were able to sneak in a last minute massage. We had dinner at Margie’s and the lobster tagliatelle was fantastic too!

About half of the umbrellas at the pool were broken so they didn’t have enough for everyone who wanted one. The day we’re were there we baked in the sun and almost had to leave. Thankfully another family left and we were able to have one for the afternoon. It might also be a good idea to have chairs and umbrellas at the beach. I’m not sure if that’s possible since it’s a public beach. It’s something to look into. If I were to change something about the rooms, I would invest in better mattresses. They were a little soft.
