Spacious clean room with a very comfortable bed and large balcony and seating area. A towel rail in the bathroom which is useful for drying small items. There's a tram stop right outside to take you anywhere and a supermarket very close too. It's a bout a 30 minute walk to get to the main and historic parts of the city.

The only problem for us was the heat throughout the hotel...it was kept far too hot! We had difficulty sleeping at night and tried to put on the air conditioning but this did not appear to work. We ended up having to open the balcony doors which meant noise and mosquitos. The breakfast room was equally insufferably hot.

We were extremely satisfied. The hotel's location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Perrache Gar Station. There is a tram passing in front of the hotel, and it is close to all public transportation options. We visited during Christmas, and it was also within walking distance of the Lyon Christmas market. Old Town is about a 15-20 minute walk. The hotel was very clean, and the breakfast was great!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had requested a room with a city view, and they arranged it for us. Despite being in the city center, the hotel was well-insulated from outside noise. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable holiday.

The location is great with trams and perrache stations in a minutes walk. The room was comfortable and cleaned daily. The staff were lovely and some little extras like the sweets and water at reception. The staff were also lovely and keen to ensure you are having a good stay. Breakfast was nice although very busy. Our room was large and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel is in need of an upgrade especially the communal area and is not your standard 4 star hotel. The prices are 3 star so this is what you get but in the end we enjoyed our stay in this hotel

Loved the facility, and will recommend. Enjoyed the designated smoking area, as most places force you onto the street. My room, 213 was so nice and quiet, facing the courtyard. Front desk staff were always helpful, and spoke English.

The breakfast was…ok. And each time I tried to use the egg boiler, someone kept taking my eggs! Like, they weren’t even finished cooking! Errrgh! Out of 4 eggs I attempted to prepare for myself, I managed to save one. I think the layout was not organized well, because there was constant crowding in areas. I couldn’t adjust the heat/air con in the room, so had to open and close the window to cool the room.

Loved the view from the room, the quiet, the facilities in the room ( the little office area and separate toilet and bathroom). Plenty of space for our things, the availability of water, lovely breakfast, helpful & friendly staff. Nice outdoor area. All good. X

When we arrived, our waste-bin had not been emptied. I wrote to the hotel prior to our visit, to let them know that my daughter may be arriving before 15:00 and requested that the room be made available for her. They seemed to have no knowledge of that and she still had to wait a while before she was let in. Fortunately, not too long. Did the message ever get through to the duty staff?

We had an excellent stay at Hôtel Charlemagne by Happyculture. The location is fantastic, just a short 5 minute walk from Lyon Perrache Station where we arrived. There is a tram station located just outside the hotel too for travel around the city. The hotel is lovely inside. Clean, modern, and everything you'd want from a hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Shower was hot and powerful. Luggage room for storing bags if you have a late flight/travel plans. Would happily stay here again if we were to be in Lyon again.

The room was large and bright, with a good view on the church opposite. Quiet, separate WC and bathroom. The location was good for us, easy to use public transport near by (Tran, metro and train).

The bed was softer than we like. The breakfast was adequate, but the reviews led us to expect much more variety and quality. The price is a bit high for the period, and a large 4 star hotel could have a pool or a fitness area.

The room and main bathroom was a decent size, although the toilet room was very tiny! Bed was comfy and we had a nice view of a park and church from our room and balcony. Room was modern and clean. Staff was friendly, breakfast was delicious with lots of items to choose from. There is an elevator but you must go through the lobby and down an outdoor covered walkway to another portion of the building to access it. There is a bar and restaurant on-site although the restaurant was not open for the few days we were there. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Public transportation within walking distance too. We drove here by car and fortunately there was free street parking over the weekend. Otherwise you pay per hour or day to park. We would stay here again.

No complaints! There was nothing to change. Nice place.

The hotel has a very good location if you want to be near the Perache railway station, but it is not so practical if you like to walk to other parts of the Presquile and Vieux Lyon because it is on the southern end of Presquile and you have to walk under or over the train station to get everywhere. We ended taking the tram and connecting with the metro just to get to Place Bellecour and then start our walking tours of Lyon from there. The rooms was nice, a good sized bathroom which seems to be recently renovated. The breakfast is great, big choice of food and drinks. The staff was very very polite and friendly.

I expected that for a four-star hotel the room would be a little higher end. It was small and we felt a bit cramped.

Spacious room with a balcony looking over the street. Comfortable bed, nice breakfast with savory items as well as the standard French fare. You can tell they pay a lot of attention to reducing waste at breakfast time, with dispensers for the jams, yogurt, etc. instead of individual containers. Location is good if you don't mind a bit of street noise. We parked right around the corner using meters.

Fake grass on the balcony, with a couple of cigarette stubs that had not been removed before we got there.
