The hotel was clean and had modern fixes; good AC unit in the room and multiple outlets. It was right across from a tram line and a 2-5 minute walk from the metro into the main area of town. Breakfast was good with lots of options. Left a charging cord in my room and staff called to offer to ship it to me- very kind, have not had any hotel do that in the past!

The single room was very small. I had enough room to open my suitcase but that was it. The elevator was also very small so luggage was difficult to get up and down. One staff member was rude during breakfast when I asked a question. Overall good stay but things to note if traveling from far.

The room was very clean and the staff were super nice and helpful. They also let us store our luggage there for a few more hours after check-out. I appreciate that there were multiple electrical sockets / USB ports in the room to conveniently charge your devices. There's a tram stop directly in front of the hotel, and a big train station two minutes walk from the hotel. Train stations and their neighbourhoods in general attract weird people but this one was okay, we felt safe at 11pm.

The room was small but we only stayed one night so if we stayed for longer, we would choose a hotel with bigger rooms. For one person though it's perfect even for longer stay.

I traveled here in April by myself but returned this time with my wife. Still the best aspect of this hotel is the staff. They are simply wonderful. And since I was here they have replaced paper cups in the room with glasses, a great improvement. When we got to the property and asked for a slightly bigger room with a better bathroom we were upgraded without charge. Breakfast is excellent and well worth the money. The location is near perfect - the T1 tram at your doorstep, Perrache station about 100m away, supermarkets and shops close by.

Hard to pick faults with Hotel Villa Berlioz. However those hotel hangers are a bug bear of mine. And the extra small lift is a bit too cosy.

The location is great, located just next to a train station (our rooms were quiet). The hotel offers discounted prices when you come by car and use the Q Park next door (literally just next door). When you stay from 7PM-9AM you only pay 10€ instead of 25€ per night. The rooms are tiny but enough for a night and it's great value to visit the city center from there because it's around 30 min of walking, you can choose by the Rhone or Seine :) beautiful.

No room to put luggage. The elevator is allowed to fit 3 people but not even two people can be inside without feeling anxious.

The location of the hotel is incredible for someone who is visiting for 1-2 days and wants to visit some of the popular sights in the city. Almost everything is walking distance from it and there is also train station nearby and a tram stop right outside. It is super quiet as well despite the trams and cars outside. The staff is kind and polite and the rooms are equipped with everything one could need for a short stay.

Lovely hotel in close proximity to Train and Tram. Lovely room and facilities. Excellent breakfast.

Fire alarm went off early one morning, so we evacuated our room and went into reception. Staff on duty very casual about it, lack of communication that it was a false alarm. I wound be very concerned if this had been a real fire how it would of been dealt. Especially with in an older property with one way out down the main stairs.

Had a problem with check in: I already payed for the room but had to put deposit from my card (same price of the room), my card didn’t work because of the limit of spendings and without it they cannot give you the room. After I managed payment by card for deposit there was a problem with email (code for the room) I couldnt receive it, I was waiting for it around 15 min and it didn’t happened, so at the end the guy on reception put his code on my key for the room. The main problem was that it happened at 00.00 am, I was super tired after work and the long road, so every minute was like an hour, so I hope after my review they will try to fix the problem with all this code, email etc, because I really liked the hotel and would stay again in the future

The staff were absolutely brilliant. Friendly and helpful - the epitome of hospitality. And the location is surprisingly good - half way between old and modern Lyon, the tram stop on the line from Gare Lyon Part Dieu is right opposite the hotel.

The shower in the single room is a bit hard to manoeuvre in (but I have had much worse). And those dreaded Hôtel clothes hangers! Also, paper water cups in the rooms. Disappointing when they are trying so hard to be sustainable and not a good look. These are far outweighed by the good points.

7 minutes walk from the train station. Very nice courtyard that is used as the terrace of the hotel restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Clean room of normal size. Very calm and beautiful view from the window towards the railroad and some old buildings with nice gardens. Windows are sound proof. No sounds of railway comes to the room. Breakfast was good.

A small but comfortable room. Well priced. We didn't face onto the main street so was surprisingly quiet. Location is very convenient, barely 100m (if that) from the train station. An easy walk to restaurants and the metro. I really enjoyed staying here and the time in Lyon was great.

Well the room could have been bigger but we spent most of our time out and about anyway.
