We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is ideal to visit on foot all the city's attractions and proximity to a train and metro station makes it a great option when traveling in and out the city. The room was a good size with an inner courtyard balcony, bathroom was clean and beds comfortable. The hotel reception was very nice, the staff very friendly and very helpful especially when we left the luggage in the storage room.

Breakfast was adequate but with room for more cooked choices, the coffee taste did not raise to the hotel's standards.

Friendly and helpful staff. The kettle in the room did not function and the staff resolved the issue fast. Room had a small separate hall so there was two doors in between the hotel hallway and bedroom which makes the room more quiet. Room had a separate toilet and bathroom and was quite roomy. Location of the hotel is good for easy exploring of the city. Reusable glass water bottles with water station was an excellent feature.

Breakfast was quite ok, coffee was quite bad and there weren't sliced fruits available (just whole fruits). Some parts of the interior begin to show their age. No fridge in the room.

hotel Charlemagne is fantastic. It is very close to the station and tramway T1 and T2, together with other buses, took us everywhere around Lyon. The hotel and the room are clean and well maintained. The toilet is spacious and clean, it has all the necessary and has a lot of room to put our stuff. Breakfast was nice and served in a very nice room. They have board games in the reception and an English billiards! there are shops close to the hotel (boulangerie, minimarket...)

room was small with very little space to put our stuff. There are no shelves and no drawers, just a closet. There isn't a fridge, neither. the room air temperature cannot be changed, and it was a little bit cold sometimes, while the bed cover (blanket) was thik and too warm during the night, and made us sweat.

Hotel was easy to get to and is not in a bad area for getting around with easy access to the metro and trams. Room good although the bed as a little firm for my liking. All the staff were amazingly helpful and answered questions quickly with good knowledge. Strongly recommend the hotel. The water fill stations are brilliant!

Bed was a little firm. The breakfast one morning was a little congested due to the volume of people which put the staff under a lot of pressure, The hotel did ship in a a few other staff to support the team - so only short lived.

Spacious clean room with a very comfortable bed and large balcony and seating area. A towel rail in the bathroom which is useful for drying small items. There's a tram stop right outside to take you anywhere and a supermarket very close too. It's a bout a 30 minute walk to get to the main and historic parts of the city.

The only problem for us was the heat throughout the hotel...it was kept far too hot! We had difficulty sleeping at night and tried to put on the air conditioning but this did not appear to work. We ended up having to open the balcony doors which meant noise and mosquitos. The breakfast room was equally insufferably hot.

Nice hotel. The rooms were kept very clean. The beds were comfortable. Our room faced the road, but it is a relatively quiet road so it was nice and peaceful. The hotel is close to metro and tram stops and a short distance from a large shopping centre, with plenty of eateries. The staff, like everyone we met in Lyon, were all very pleasant and helpful.

The water pressure in the shower could have been better. The separate toilet was tiny; I headbutted the wall each time I sat down! A small fridge in the room would have been a nice addition.

We were extremely satisfied. The hotel's location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Perrache Gar Station. There is a tram passing in front of the hotel, and it is close to all public transportation options. We visited during Christmas, and it was also within walking distance of the Lyon Christmas market. Old Town is about a 15-20 minute walk. The hotel was very clean, and the breakfast was great!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had requested a room with a city view, and they arranged it for us. Despite being in the city center, the hotel was well-insulated from outside noise. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable holiday.

The location is great with trams and perrache stations in a minutes walk. The room was comfortable and cleaned daily. The staff were lovely and some little extras like the sweets and water at reception. The staff were also lovely and keen to ensure you are having a good stay. Breakfast was nice although very busy. Our room was large and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel is in need of an upgrade especially the communal area and is not your standard 4 star hotel. The prices are 3 star so this is what you get but in the end we enjoyed our stay in this hotel

Loved the facility, and will recommend. Enjoyed the designated smoking area, as most places force you onto the street. My room, 213 was so nice and quiet, facing the courtyard. Front desk staff were always helpful, and spoke English.

The breakfast was…ok. And each time I tried to use the egg boiler, someone kept taking my eggs! Like, they weren’t even finished cooking! Errrgh! Out of 4 eggs I attempted to prepare for myself, I managed to save one. I think the layout was not organized well, because there was constant crowding in areas. I couldn’t adjust the heat/air con in the room, so had to open and close the window to cool the room.

We got a great offer from booking and we paid 79 euro for the stay with breakfast, because we booked last minute.The room was nice and clean, the bathroom spacious with all the necessary stuff, we found a parking space free of charge near the hotel as it was holiday and evening and we could leave the car untill 9.00 am next day. The ladies at the reception were very helpful and nice. The breakfast is delicious and versatile. We had an amazing time. Location is perfect, you can get by feet wherever you need in the center in 20-30 min.
