I booked here for myself but also for 20+ participants of an international film festival I organised. I was surprised, as were many of my colleagues, to read a fair number of negative reviews. This is either hostel or 'rorbu' accommodation and not, as many negative reviewers seem to think, a hotel, which renders their reviews rather weird. If you want to stay at the Ritz, book a room at the Ritz! The flat I stayed in with my wife was very basic but had charm and patina, and most of the things you need. It had a terrific view of the harbour and mountains beyond. The staff were very nice and helpful, solving any small problem, and one larger one, we encountered instantly. Some of the rooms/flats needed some renovating but I observed that this was already happening, and I received no complaints from any of the participants of the festival staying there, except that a couple of the hostel rooms were a bit too small.

The wifi was a bit dodgy but I believe they are improving that as well.

++ very top location ++ quiet apartment on ground floor with direct access to beautiful terrace over the sea ++ extreme friendly multilingual staff on site, special thanks to Svitlana helping us with lot of information and her great patience ++ great panoramic view + very comfortable chair and sofa + broken refrigerator was immediately exchanged with the help of Svitlana + terrace was perfect place for our huskies to stay there + well equipped kitchen + original floor consisting of old solid wooden planks + enough parking space

- no dish washer - internet was slow and not always solid stable (even as Svitlana tried it with another WLAN-router)

The location, the view, the cozyness.

Didn’t get a message about room number and entry instructions, so I spent 1/2 an hour walking around and trying to get in touch with some kind of staff after 17:00. By the time I finally received a message via the chat it wasn’t ready - someone from staff was still cleaning it. Woke up in a super cold house the last morning - I think the heat was turned off during the night. The wifi didn’t work and no one responded from the staff.

The hostel is located in a residential area and has a homely feel. Plenty of nearby parking. Over looks the sea and small docking area. My room was clean and in good order. Good shower and separate WC. Nice towels and crisp white bed linen.

The heating in the room did not have a manual control and I had to unplug the heater when I got too hot or have the window open. I could have messaged the host to reduce the temperature but I did not want to bother them.

Lovely tiny room with a stunning view on the sea and wooden walls, wich gave the room a very cozy atmosphere.

Remember you have to rent the bedding sheets if you don't have your own or your sleeping bag.

We loved our room in this shared appartment. The view is wonderful, the room was spacious, private and comfortable. The appartment has all you need to cook. We recommend it!

We spent a couple of minutes trying to find the room, as there are many appartments and in different locations.

Amazing view outside and location, walking distance from Kabelvåg

Air conditioning didnt cool much, happened to have a very hot day, reservation and pictures seemed we have a terrace but actually terrace place and window view was for another room in same cottage. No chairs for outside terrace tables.

Convenient location on the way from Svolvaer to the rest Lofoten in a small quiet town. Despite the confusion with the room number at the beginning, the rest was ok and I rate the stay as pleasant.

Limited contact with administration. Although I got a few e-mails and text messages before arriving, when it turned out that our room was occupied by other guests, it was impossible to call and I received a reply to the text message only after a few hours.

Good location. Big appartment with great views close to the sea. Comfortable beds. Everything was clean.

Staff was difficult to communicate with. They don’t answer messages through Booking, but they didn’t answer the phone when I called and replied with a delay when I sent a message through its chat system.

Felt very very comfortable and safe there, bed was super comfy and the views are gorgeous. You get what you pay for

Our unlabelled food was thrown out (fair enough) only i didn’t have a pen. Maybe in future you could leave a marker there for people to use? Great stay though, cozy and lovely !!
