We had a lovely stay at the B&B Balcone Fiorito. The garden was beautiful, with many flowers and good view. The breakfasts were amazing, with homemade pastries. We felt very welcomed, and the host helped us a lot by finding places and recommending us things to do. We also managed to get around with no car, as it was possible to walk to Menaggio by foot in 25+ min (using the bike track), and easy to buy buss-tickets back up. Our room was also really nice, with a good view. We enjoyed the company from Pongo (the dog) and Max (the cat)!

The sink had pressure issues, and the water tasted a bit strange. Even though the overall stay was great, it was a pit pricey for us. Also- not the place you go, if you're looking for a lot of privacy.

The views from this B&B were picturesque and serene. The accommodation was spotless and a home away from home. The hosts were warm, beyond caring/accommodating, and made our stay seamless (I wish I could write all the details there are to this, no kinder hosts have I met before in all my travels). Here, we got a 5-star treatment for far less than what other big hotel chains offered. Pongo (I hope I spelled the name correctly) is the most well-behaved and friendly dog I have ever met. My mum and I are both terrified of dogs but Pongo cured us of that in a completely good way. I wish my stay was longer, and now that I have found this Gem, will most certainly be coming back!

Eleanor and David (the hosts) were the highlights! Such kind and helpful people and Eleanor makes AMAZING breakfast cakes. The location is great for an amazing view and if you’re there when the local restaurants and things are open, but I am very glad I had a car for this property location. Also a couple of good activities very near the property. Their dog and cat are both very sweet- Pongo (probably spelled wrong) is the happiest rescue and he will make sure everyone knows he is a happy and free boy!

We spent a wonderful week as guests of Balcone Fiorito. Location, breakfast and accommodation were all excellent. Eleanor and David are the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. They were always attentive to our needs and offered some great advice on locations to visit and hidden gems that enhanced our stay immensely. We will definitely be visiting this B&B again. We also loved Pongo and would have happily taken him home with us given half the chance...

Lots of space in the bedroom and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Superb view of the lake. Eleanor and David were delightful and very friendly hosts. We will use again for a longer stay next time. We were en route but would love to stay here for a week next year to explore Lake Como more.

Eleanor is the gracious host of this 'straight out of a fairy tale' house doubling up as a B&B. Photos of this listing do not do justice to the overall charm of this B&B. The accomodation was very spacious (Living room, kitchen, bedroom & toilet), fully furnished with beautiful paintings and furniture and has a beautiful view of Lake Como. A big thumbs up for the overall cleanliness and hygiene.  It is located at Croche, which is up around the hills about 2 kms from Menaggio bus stop. Bus C12 takes you to and fro. Eleanor picked us from our bus stop at Menaggio. She helped us enormously with all the local information required to travel within Como and also dropped us to locations when required. Her husband Adriano and son David ensured we had a pleasant stay. On the morning of check-out, Adriano was kind enough to drop us off to our bus-stop while commuting to his workplace. (Future guests, do bear in mind that these courtesy rides were upon the host's discretion & schedule. We fondly consider the same as favours and not part of the package)  The property has a beautiful garden with  seating arrangements to dine as well as relax. 2 pets, a cat and a dog (Pongo) give you some furry company so you don't miss your pets while away from home. Spending time around Pongo and watching him do his zoomies was heartwarming.  Breakfast arrangements were nice and timed flexibly as per our schedule.  Besides the sumptuous fare of sandwiches, cheese, tea, coffee, fruits, juices etc, Eleanor specially baked some  amazing scones & muffins for us, the aromas of which still waft through our happy memories. Dear Eleanor, Adriano & David, thank you again for everything. We hope to revisit Lake Como soon and spend a longer time of leisure at 'Balcone Fiorito'.

Our stay at Balcone Fiorito was simply perfect. The house is beautiful, with breathtaking views of the lake. The garden is super well taken care of, with many beautiful flowers. David and his mum made us feel at home from the first moment. The breakfast is delicious with a selection of fruit, yoghurts, bread, ham and cheese, spreads, juice and different pastries every day. They have the most adorable and loving dog, Pongo, who welcomes you every morning in the garden. The property is easy to get to from the port by taxi in no more than 7 min ride. We walked up a few times in 25 mins from the Port. Near the house, there is an excellent local restaurant that David recommended and we enjoyed local and delicious Italian food. We enjoy our stay so much and we can't wait to go back!

Eleanor snd her son were so lovely. I was travelling solo and it felt like home. It is an amazing location with incredible views. I loved everything about this place.

Nice room with ensuite. Lake Como views from large outdoor sitting area. Very nice and substantial breakfast. Private parking area. Day ferry pass for 15 euro allowed travel to Bellagio, Varenna and a couple of other stops.

No fridge, but able to use part of fridge in breakfast room.

My stay at the Balcone Fiorito was fantastic! The view was stunning, the place was beautiful, and the hosts were kind and amazing in every way! Highly recommend it for a memorable getaway! ♡

Probably you need a car to get up there from centre, or be prepared to take a buss. Otherwise it’s a good exercise for your body ;)
