This is a beautiful hotel, I loved everything about it, both inside and outside. Great location, walk up to coffee shop. Staff helpful. Very quiet hotel. Loved the furnishings. Loved the common areas and fireplaces. I am terminally ill and was a bit worried about the steps from previous guest reviews where they mention the steps being difficult. It was only the one flight I had to climb and I had no trouble with getting up with the help of the bannister.
Nothing, all good.

Lovely hotel with lots of character. Great location. Very clean. Dinner in restaurant was superb food delicious but a bit pricey to eat there more than once. If you can afford it the food is fabulous. Young wait staff were delightful and very professional Room very comfortable A lovely gentleman carried our bags to our room much appreciated. We would definately recommend and return to this hotel.
The worst pillows. i got a poor night sleep due to a sore neck from pillows being too high and too firm. Cant sink your head into the pillow. Ended up using a folded towel from bathroom to sleep on to relieve my neck. Despite plenty of pillows in room no options for a lower softer pillow. Need to provide some pillow options. If lack of comfortable pillow didnt occur would have been a perfect stay. Couldnt contact reception to see whether i could get a different pillow as it was middle of the night when i woke up with sore neck. Next time i will bring my own as we did enjoy our stay and thought it was a lovely hotel with character

We stayed at the Heritage, which is about a 1/2 mile from the train station. The train from Sydney was super easy and inexpensive, and takes a couple hours. If you don't have much luggage the Heritage is walkable from the station, but uphill a third of the way. You CANNOT beat the view from the Heritage! It's a quirky, quaint, very old hotel. Be aware that there is no elevator and stairs everywhere. Check in advance if you have mobility issues. There is a lovely bar and spacious restaurant, both quite nice with a balcony. There is a separate building with a workout area, pool table, and ping pong, which is fun. It has nice sized pool, but no lounging area. To enjoy the surrounding sights we bought the Hop On/Off bus tickets which is a great option even if you have a car. The stop is near the train station a 1/2 mile away, so save some strength to walk back. The bus is an hour at each location, which was enough to see and walk that particular sight. LOTS of trails. Be warned that the "easy" "medium" "difficult" rating for the trails should be more like "medium" "difficult" "bring a rope". Lots of stairs. There are some paved trails, but most are dirt, with tree roots, rough hewn steps, and steep drop-offs. Trying to hike the trails with children would be nerve wreaking. These are the "easy" trails. But the views are amazing! It's a stunning area. We hoped to see koalas, but we asked our bus tour guide and he'd lived in the area 30 years and never seen one! Rats! So we stopped looking up so much! We saw lots of birds--white cockatoos, kookaburra, magpies, even black cockatoos. The weather was good most of the time, which was lucky for us. The day we left back to Sydney it was so foggy we could have been anywhere. I guess that happens quite a bit, so keep an eye on the weather before you go.
A shuttle to the train station would be nice. Prepare to lug your luggage up stairs.

Old world charm and excellent service. Very clean and well maintained. The views from the restaurant and lounge are absolutely stunning. The restaurant food was beautifully presented and tasty. Open fires and very comfortable sofas in the lounge. I loved having board games to play. The staff were very attentive and professional. Rooms were charming and comfortable. Foxtel was a nice surprise. The bathroon toiletries were high quality. Towels big and fluffy.
The steep walk from the train station, but we could have used taxis. The shower was tricky to get the right temperature and sometimes went cold and then hot. I guess that can happen in an older building.

Great views, comfortable clean room and amenities, dinner was great as was the wait staff.
The initial attitude of the management when a query was raised about the advertised breakfast fee of $25. Booking.com advertised breakfasts being available at $25. We were given a menu which had different prices and not the set fee because we were termed as walk-ins. We were guests at the hotel - not outsiders. The problem exists between the hotel and booking.com as to how it was advertised. I was made to feel as if I had made an error in my booking even though when we first checked in, I did ask about breakfast. The management did come back and honour the price, for that I am grateful, the food was nice but I didn't eat much I was still too upset. Photo attached shows how advertised.

The staff at the reception was so welcoming and friendly. They had our room ready and we were lucky enough to check in earlier than expected. We really loved the atmosphere of the lounge with live piano music and a cosy fireplace for us to enjoy our drink. The bar was great and my signature Negroni was tops! We didnt have a room with a view (that would have been amazing) but we were able to appreciate the gorgeous landscape from the deck at the front entrance. Highly recommended!
It was a bit of a walk from the train station up and downhill but we managed well because we were mobile and had some level of fitness.

Just a six minute walk away from the train station, with wonderful views of the Jamison Valley even BEFORE you enter, an interior that is as classy as it is homely and welcoming, spacious and amazingly-designed rooms, AND cozy amenities like fireplaces, libraries, and plush lounges to drink or study in. If you plan to stay, do yourself a favor and book a Friday or Saturday night so you can listen to Alan, the lounge pianist, while you sip wine by the fireplace. Amazing conversationalist, equally-talented pianist. You will feel right at home.
Be wary of frosty mornings, as the tiled square landing at the start of the steps is VERY slippery.

A Perfect Anniversary Weekend at the Mountain Heritage Hotel We recently spent a weekend at the Mountain Heritage Hotel in the Blue Mountains to celebrate our anniversary, and it honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. We booked through Booking.com, which was super easy, and everything just fell into place from there. Our room had a spa bath and a gas fireplace, which made it feel really cosy and romantic. The bed was super comfy, the room was nice and warm, and the spa bath was even better than we expected, just what we needed to relax. We arrived a bit early and decided to have lunch at the hotel restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the service was fantastic. We were fortunate enough to secure a table by the window with an amazing view over the valley. It was a truly peaceful spot to enjoy our meal. The staff were all lovely and easy to talk to, from reception to the waitstaff. Even the chef’s meals were spot on, delicious and clearly made with care. The whole hotel was decked out for Christmas in July, which really added to the atmosphere. It was absolutely chilly around -3°C, so the festive decorations and warm vibe made it feel really special. We were just hoping for a bit of snow to top it off, but even without it, it was still magical. Overall, it was a beautiful experience and a great way to celebrate our anniversary. We’d absolutely recommend the Mountain Heritage Hotel to anyone looking for a romantic escape—and we’ll definitely be back.
Nothing really to complain about i think if anything the 3.00 pm check in was a bit late for me, in saying this i did email the hotel requesting if we were able to have an earlier arrival and the hotel text me to say at 1.00pm saying the room was available which was brilliant, however, we were there having lunch in the restaurant and did not fnish unti 2.30pm anyway, and was taken directly to our room, thank you to the afternoon staff.

We were attending the Mountain Heritage Yulefest on Saturday 12/07 with friends staying in their Heritage Rooms. The whole weekend stay was a wonderful experience beginning with the reception team lead who has us checked in in record time and assisted us with our luggage up to our rooms. Reception even called later to check whether we were comfortable and in need of anything which was a nice touch. The Yulefest Evening began with pre-dinner drinks in the bar and lounge with panoramic views of the Jamison Valley back by classic federation decor and open fires to warm the lounge. The lounge service was impeccable from friendly efficient services and an excellent selection of Cocktails, Beers and Spirits served up by the friendliest young bar tender. Yulefest Dinner consisted of six courses of the most delicious options served to us by the dining services team who look after everyone in timely and efficient manner, both engaging and professional. Throughout the night the dinner guest were entertained by the loveliest group of female carol singers and of course there was Santa and his lovely elf. To finish of the weekend the Mountain Heritage breakfast lived up to its reputation and had us ready for the day. Checkout procedure was even smoother than the check in thanks the reception team. A great weekend all round, if you get the change do the Mountain Heritage Yulefest this month, or in 2026.
The Mountain Heritage Yulefest is an old traditional hotel but with some modern enhancements. you can always find fault in even the best new hotel but at the Mountain Heritage its part of its charm. We had no complaints.

Check in was easy. Breakfast was enjoyable and we liked the great views from the restaurant. Hotel is close to the town centre. Our room was clean and comfortable. The Bar lounge is cozy and comfortable, and we enjoyed the piano music. Great ambience generally.
Our room was some distance from the main floor, up and down stairs. Shower/bath floor slippery, probably needs a non slip mat. We ordered some cocktails from the bar before going out to dinner and the wait for our drinks was longer than I'd have expected. When I asked a waiter to check on how much longer they'd be his answer was not helpful. Also $25 per cocktail seems a bit steep. We would have preferred to have had dinner at the Hotel restaurant but it was Christmas in July booking only and the cost was way too much. We went to the Avalon restaurant in the town centre instead and had a wonderful meal for less than half of what it would have cost for the Christmas in July meal at the Hotel.
