The Tulia Retreat Hotel and Spa is truly a retreat. We stayed two nights--late afternoon and evening after a five day, four night safari--and the next night after touring the Arusha Natural History Museum and Masai Market. That gave us plenty of time to relax in the beautiful pool and gardens and enjoy the hospitality at this oasis. We had all of our meals during our stay at the hotel. Delicious food. Gracious and friendly service. For example, we asked the desk to call us a taxi. They apparently were unable to source one within a couple of minutes, so the day manager drove us into town himself. We took a motorcycle rickshaw back from the market which was an adventure.

great location, very nice staff, very clean place. If you are expecting luxuryous accommodations, this isn't the place. It is pretty good value for money. they arranged airport pick up in Arusha, drop off at Killimanjao and the driver was on time, vehicle was in great shape and it was value for money.

breakfast choices were very limited. I went for breakfast after an extended family group of 7 had eaten and there wasn't much left. One of the items on offer had been pancakes and i had to ask for some since the serving dish was empty. They did bring me some, but only a couple of small ones and by the time I had left 15 minutes later, they still hadn't replenished the trays.

It’s a small hotel with lovely gardens in a very convenient location. It’s a 15 minute walk to the clock tower with plenty of eateries nearby.The area is quiet and very safe. The hotel was very clean and their staff especially David and Henry were very pleasant and helpful.

Some things were in a state of disrepair. The bathroom door could not lock . The toilet was dripping.Just small things that could be easily repaired in my opinion. They need to maintain the rooms especially the bathrooms. The food at the hotel was a little pricey. Entrees and accompaniments were charged separately.

The garden, the staff and specially the food at dinner time. Actually this was the best food we tried in Arusha during our 5 days there. The staff was exceptionally professional and knowledgeable and cute/fun!

I wish there were a long mirror in the room so we could see ourselves and also the bathroom is always full of water. But according to the price it is expected some minor inconveniences.

The rooms were spacious. The lounge area was perfect for reading and eating dinner even. The pool and garden area are lovely and spent an enjoyable afternoon relaxing around the pool area. The hotel is quiet and better than staying in the centre of Arusha where it can be quite noisy. The walk to the town Clocktower is about 20 minutes along a dusty, busy road, but definitely doable and nice not to have to rely on taxis. The staff were always ready to help. Never mind those fancy pricey hotels - the Tulia is just as good for less money.

The room was quite basic but comfortable with a huge bathroom. We loved the swimming pool and the garden. The location is great - in a quiet area but close to a few great restaurants and across the street from shuttle bus station, which was important for us.

The breakfast could be better with more options to choose from, but we didn’t mind that much. There was no problem with having breakfast earlier than 7:00 which we appreciated very much.

Location and the staff. Everyone was so helpful. Easy to walk into town. very small hotel with a lovely garden.

The swimming pool was being cleaned so couldn’t be used. However they arranged for us to go to their sister hotel for a swim. we were awoken by a generator which was extremely loud. As we had to get up early it was OK but would have been bad if we didn’t want to wake up at 6am.,

The management team – Jane and Henri – were first class. Even the cook, Topac. They were very attentive to client’s needs. For golfers, it is only a 25 minutes walk to the golf course.

The facility could use a better Maintenance person. Work done was sloppy and areas that needed some work (minor), were not observed, therefore not attended to.

We enjoyed our stay because the place was homily and yet provided us with all the essential services. The quietness of the place was excellent. I enjoyed the morning breakfast. The food was excellent.
