Fantastic room, excellent hospitality. That square 85 years ago was an internment camp for German nationals in 1940, it held lots of Jewish and anti Nazi people who held culture and artistic views, the square outside has a real memorial to those who were interned. This hotel was the hospital for those people interned in those hotels on the square. So lots of joy for all in the end and the location reflects this.

It's quite hilly to walk to from the promenade, but after studying the bus routes I overcome this by getting a bus and walking down hill. Just buy a go card when you arrive for island transport and it's easy to get around

We liked the location of Arrandale House in a quiet street overlooking Hutchison Square, yet within a few minute walk from Harris Promenade. The room was small but comfortable. The restaurant served a good selection of traditional breakfast choices. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was open late in the evening and provided opportunity to chat to other guests over a drink and exchange impressions about places worth visiting. We had a very enjoyable five day stay in Douglas and managed to see most places on the island. We took advantage of the combined visitor and transport card we got at the Manx Museum on our first day and used it to travel on the very well organised train and bus system. Apart from Douglas, I 'd recommend visiting the Laxey Wheel, Peel Castle, Castle Rushen and The House of Mannanan. Going on the steam train from Douglas to Castletown was great fun, too.

Both our rooms were spacious, lovely decor with a good sea view. Plenty of tea and coffee facilities and toileteries in the en suite. Bedding was lovely and clean and towels were nice and white and fluffy, There was an excellent choice on the Breakfast Menu and the food was exceptional, everything was cooked really nicely and well presented and the staff were very friendly, nothing too much trouble for them. We liked the location, it was nice and peaceful and we soon got use to the "slight incline" up the road, by the last day we were practically running up it!!!!

I don't think there was anything at all we didn't like, only criticism my t.v. in 205 wasn't tuned in properly, so there was only 3 channels to watch, but by bedtime I was too tired to be bothered with t.v.!!!!

Everything! Beds were very comfortable.Everywhere very clean.Staff were all amazing.Friendly efficient nothing to much trouble.Scott very welcoming and professional.Always made us feel welcome..Breakfast which was included set us up for the day.Served very quickly.Piping hot and cooked to perfection. We stayed 4 nights and everything was consistently good..We can't recommend this place enough. We certainly will be returning.Loved the teas and coffees and biscuits in the room.( Filled up daily) Toiletries as well.Nice big fluffy towels.Spare pillows in wardrobe.A very happy stay by us can't recommend it enough.

There was nothing we didn't like. But feel we should mention a hill that takes about 10 mins from promenade to the property. For us we loved the exercise so no problem. But someone with mobility issues may struggle.

The room and the kitchen had good facilites and were well equipped and seemed recently renewed. We were able to keep our bikes securely in the back yard which was much appreciated on a cycling trip with no other transport. It wasn't too far from the centre of town, the seafront and grocery shops.

The large kettle couldn't fit under the tap to refill it. You could change the kettle for a shorter one that didn't contain as much water. And the cups were too small, you could change those for mugs. A kettle whose capacity was equal to 2 mugs would be ideal. A mini fridge would be useful to keep a pint of milk in.

Lovely room on 3rd floor with kettle tea and coffee. Beds super comfy great pillows and hot shower. There are no lifts so a bit of a trek up 3 flights not to much of a problem for us we knew this when we booked. Breakfast was very good and totally adequate for the room price. It's lovely to have a bar for a night cap in the evening. They served evening meals which again adequate for the price. The staff are fantastic, big shout out to Scott, who booked a taxi from the airport and gave lots of information on the disc parking system through emails before we arrived. Would definitely stay here again and can highly recommend the Arrandale house hotel.

Nothing to complain about at all, everything was sorted for us.

Scott the main member of staff there was v very helpful and accommodating and we were able to book an extra night at the same cost. We had a bright room with a decent view. It was great to have a fridge. Made all the difference. Good selection of tea and coffee. The seating area was appreciated. Also great to have a choice at breakfast - Manx kippers were a nice touch. There was more than enough to eat. A great price including breakfast.

A bit out of the way - 25 mins walk from ferry terminal but we expect that for the price. Could have been a little bit cleaner but was basically OK

I loved everything about my stay. The room was lovely, a decent size, clean and everything you'd expect to have in a room. The location is spot on too. Just take a short walk down a small hill and you're at the beach front, and then a few minutes later you'll arrive at where the main street is for shopping. What really made my stay were the people that run it. Had plenty of great chats with Rose (who was a fountain of local knowledge) when it came to breakfast (which was awesome by the way), and Scott was lovely too. Nothing was to much trouble. I needed a document printing off and they kindly oblidged, did it straight away and brought it up to my room. If you're looking for a place to stay in Douglas, stay here - you will not be disappointed!

Nothing.

Friendly welcoming staff, Good food, breakfast and dinner, cooked to order and well presented, Clean, comfortable and spacious double bedroom with TWO chairs (something not every hotel provides) View from 3rd floor window across town and a quiet open square

The steep climb up the hill from the main bus routes Three flights of stairs up to our room (not good for ageing knees!) Having said that, I appreciate that there's very little you can do about either of the above.

Hotel staff were great, super friendly and nothing as too much trouble :) They even checked us in at 11am as our room was ready early. Breakfast every morning was plenty and tasty. The room was spacious with a great view of the harbour; bed was very comfortable and tea/ coffee/ biscuits were replenished without fail. Internet was very good too. Have no hesitation to recommend Arrandale House and will definitely be staying again next time we visit. :)

Nothing to dislike.
