We loved its originality, it was like stepping back in time, to an age of opulance, and grandiur, we stayed in the junior suite which looked onto the promenade, & had a sea view,also the breakfast was not to be missed and we looked forward to our morning cuppachino’s served by the lovely Valentina who was always so friendly , kind and informative offering up useful information about the hotel , restuarants, beaches , and local history like the mkt on a Thursday, we also got to hire bycicles and enjoyed cycling along the brilliant cycle paths.The Hotel was like staying in a museum, and we loved the whole experiece.

Beautiful spacious room with elegant period decor. Great balcony overlooking the sea. Very good breakfast in sumptuous surroundings. Helpful and courteous staff - a particular commendation to the night receptionist/ watchman who got me an amaro when I got in late having discovered the local bars all shut.

The landing lobby was rather poorly lit which made it difficult to read the room name. Their linked beach club is not the best on the strip. Dated - frozen in the 1970’s

No coffee tea facilities in room Requested balcony didn’t realise it was shared only divided by plants they could see straight into room no privacy or security they stayed up drinking wine till late which was noisy and awkward

The friendly staff always helpful and smiling The hotel full of character and beauty It's breathtaking The breakfast room is a joy in the morning very peaceful and relaxed Basic selection of cold meats and cheese but enough for me I didn't try hot option The coffee is very good was made fresh with lots of choices and delivered to the table The bedroom was elegant and the grandeur of the hotel overall was mesmerising And being across from the beach idyllic location

The shower in one room was a cubicle not in keeping with the hotel but everything else made up for it

Right on the Esplanade. A fantastic spot and the staff were always smiling and very helpful and ready with suggestions on things to do or how things work. The place was beautiful with all the original heritage work very well maintained which I love. We highly recommend this place for a stay.

There was nothing we didn't like here.

The hotel was very clean, and although an unusual shape, the single room was very comfortable. The breakfast was nice but there was no hot option. The hotel had some nice features such as the staircase and was in a good location. It was quiet and peaceful. It would have been better if the room had tea-making facilities.

Location is really nice, it’s looking on the boardwalk but my apartment was inside in the small garden and it was not noisy at all. Apartment was good everything worked and the light through the roof was very interesting idea, i like it.

The iron gate was too heavy but its not the hotel problem)

Beautiful old style building from the mosaic flooring the impressive staircase to the decorative High ceilings .we were in the first floor family room when we opened the shutters to all three huge windows the light in the room blew us all away. Immaculately clean crisp comfortable bedding .The two ladies I presume were sister's were very professional friendly hosts. We tried to book another night there as so impressed but as expected fully booked

The basin plug in the bathroom was difficult to release

Beautiful, old classic hotel. Well appointed, great furniture, very clean. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and Roberta is a wonderful hostess. Thank-you for having bicycles available. Our ride around Viareggio was super cool.

I enjoyed the architecture and style of this beautiful old building which had most, if not all of the original features, the stained glass window in the breakfast room was amazing. It was spotlessly clean and my room was very comfortable, especially the bed. The two ladies at reception could not have been more helpful. They were welcoming, kind and considerate. Great location, walking distance to everything, beach just across the road.
