The location is undeniably perfect for those wishing to be right in the heart of Capitola by the Sea, literally across the street from the best restaurants and beach in the town (aside from Shadowbrook which is a short walk away). The facilities are nice and functional, not extravagant, but very charming in a century-old beachy kind of way. Outdoor fire pit seating area is awesome, but do wish it was bigger.

Probably that I didn’t find it sooner and I didn’t stay longer, but I’ll be back! Not a complaint, but this historic landmark deserves its own little gift shop or something inside (magnets, necklaces. t-shirts with a small convenience area) Also not a necessity, but a vending machine wouldn’t be a bad idea and may even bring in some revenue after a couple months with the right variety of at least semi-healthy options in it.

Breakfast was good. I enjoy lemon w my tea and/or hot water, but three wasnt any available. Maybe next time. The bagels toast options and oatmeal were good. The pastries were good. I did need some protein and there was hard boiled eggs available. The room was a perfect small comfortable room. The ceiling fan was a must. Even tho it was a cool breeze all day, the fan at night felt great.

The bed, king, was a little too soft for my liking but we slept well. The 18 stairs up were a challenge with our luggage but we managed. The stairs were wide and easy for balance with handrails too. The early street weep noise was loud but knowing the streets are kept clean was nice.

Right in the middle of great food/drinks and night life. Very slow time for tourism (Nov.) but worked out for us. got great seating, service and values. Super friendly atmosphere. Just know that bands play nightly, and you will hear/feel music till very late night. But that's what we were looking for. Would recommend. The hotel itself is very charming and small. bedroom and bathroom. Thats it. no seating area to extra chair. So don't expect much room. Bed was super comfortable.

Restroom had no fan so anyone in the bedroom can hear your business.

The location was excellent and very clean! We received a parking pass for free to park within the few blocks around the hotel which was easy and convenient. Directly across the street from the beach and lots of restaurants, short walk to all of the shopping too. The free breakfast was perfect.

Our room was super small and the walls aren't very well insulated so you can hear everything above a whisper coming from other guests and outside.

All of the staff prior and during the trip were very helpful. Parking recommendation, reservations and including accommodations for our after check out. We come here every year and will be back again.

No negative comment just a recommendation that the shower head in room with patio the shower head could be adjusted as my friend and I are both short. But the water pressure and bathroom is very nice.

The staff at Capitol hotel were amazing, contacted us before our arrival and helped us arrange dinner reservations. The rooms were small but clean and had everything we needed. Very comfortable. The location was perfect right downtown for Capitola. Will definitely be returning.

Very clean and comfortable room. Loved having a ceiling fan and floor fan, plus another fan in wardrobe to use if needed😊. Appreciated the coffee and breakfast choices. Close proximity to beach & restaurants was primary reason for choosing this hotel, as we had never been to Capitola before! Really enjoyed the private terrace on the side…would definitely visit again

It would be nice if coffee was offered a bit earlier than 8:30 am

The location is the best! The lobby is very welcoming .The rooms are clean. Wonderful front desk staff!The Continental Breakfast is the perfect way to start the day!

The location was ideal. We had a great time in this quaint little place. Went to Zelda’s on the beach, delicious. Great band played at the Sand Bar,which was right across the street.

The place was very clean , but small room. It was comfy.

The Capitola Hotel is in an excellent location! Breakfast was a perfect light selection. Room was comfy, clean, well stocked with linens and toiletries. Definitely a "10" out of 10!
