Booked via Booking.com Type of room: garden view with Fort Denison views of the harbour Check-in: was smooth, courteous and fuss free. We arrived early at 11:00. Our bags were stored in their baggage locker and we were given access to their lounge in 31st floor. It was a self service place and had spectacular views of the Sydney Harbour, Opera House and Botanical Gardens. Room: our room was ready by 12:00(usual check-in time 14:00). It was well appointed and had all the amenities expected from a 5-star property. Surprise: I had mentioned my wife’s birthday when asked if there was any special occasion. Later in the evening, the staff delivered a beautiful 🎂 with a bottle of sparkling wine 🍾and a birthday wish card Check-out: time is 10:00. When requested, they allowed us to stay back until 14:00. Check out process to super quick. The front desk took our key card and emailed us the invoice. That’s it. Took 15 secs! Breakfast @ Conservatory: we availed of their in-house buffet as part of the room package. The spread was lavish with heaps of options. Avoid peak rush hour btw 0900-1000 as it gets crowded with wait times. Overall experience: wonderful luxurious stay. The location is perfect. 5mins from Circular Quay and Botanical Garden and 10-15 mins walk to Martin Place, Queen Victoria Building and shopping arcades on Pitt St and George St. Highly recommended and def coming back.

The location and room are excellent

The staff at treasury bar was very terrible. They put the sign “wait to be seat”, and I was waiting there, the staff saw me and did not react anything. I was waiting for long time, and came to the table, the staff at Treasury bar looked at me just like “what are you doing here”? After that, he does not come to take order. I had to come to the bar’s counter to order the coffee. I think with Intercontinental Hotel service level’s expectation, it is simply not accepted

A grand building, beautifully renovated blending the old and the new. The room allocated was on the 30th floor, with great views of the Botanical Gardens and although not facing the Harbour Bridge or the Opera House, we had partial views of the harbour. Breakfast was also excellent, and very good value given the wide variety of hot and cold food, with melt-in-the-mouth pastries, cheeses and jams.

Menu of the in-house restaurant/bar was rather exclusive and expensive for our liking. The snack dishes were not as varied as one would expect. Nevertheless, great ambience to have a drink

The management's help was excellent. The room was very comfortable and clean. The elevators were fast, with little waiting. The rooftop lounge, Astor, was a surprise and an extreme delight. The views of Sydney Harbour, with the Coathanger Bridge, the Queen Anne, and the Opera House, were all encapsulated in the beautiful architecture and lush green trees and vegetation.

The service part of the room service was terrible. My food was good, but the server forgot to include utensils and napkins. I called and was told they would send them to my room. It never happened. I ate my meal with the coffee spoon and my fingers. The concierge told me to take the bus to the fish market. Finding the correct bus stop and getting there took two and a half hours. As I finally arrived at the Fish Market area, I saw the light rail train I could have taken from near the hotel.

Room was fantastic. View was awesome, bed was divine, lovely toiletries, the staff were wonderful. Breakfast excellent. The concierge, Gregory Hillard was exceptional. He was so very helpful and understanding. A true gentleman with outstanding people skills. He made our stay even more fabulous.

The only thing that was just slightly unsettling was the first room was not what we paid for. However, we were moved the very next day to our preferred King Room with East Harbour view for the rest of our stay. Greg the concierge wonderful, nothing was too much trouble he made us feel very welcome.

Location was amazing and walked to everything. My room had a view of the harbour, The Bridge and Opera House- EPIC!! The room was large with a comfy bed. The Treasury Bar served lovely cocktails and breakfast buffet was great also.

The Aster bar on the roof top doors were open and it was freezing even with my coat on. I nicely asked if one of the doors could be closed and the waiter went to do this but another patron sitting next to the door told him not too. I don't know why his comfort level overided my comfort levels The waite was a gentleman and apologetic about this and I was offered another table which was also next to the other open door which needed to stay open as well. It may have been better to increase the heating in the main space. I also noted that the venue was deserted I would say it was due to the freezing conditions.

Everything!! Customer service was exceptional from the valet parking staff, to front desk, to room service and finally the Aster bar staff. They were all fabulous. The facilities are exceptional, we used the Lounge area to wait until our room became available. We didn't use the gym or pool however visited both and were impressed with the variety and quality of equipment and warm clean water and views from the pool!! Next time I bring my swimmers and goggles!! Our room was superb! Harbour view King room number 2504 was stunning. We arrived and opened the door to a completely dark room. Within. Seconds the lights came on and blinds opened automatically to the most spectacular views of the harbour and botanical gardens! The rooms are superb clean and spacious with quality bed, pillows and linen. The towels and robes were perfect. Room service was delicious. We booked a table at the Aster rooftop bar after our event at the State Theatre. The cocktails were delicious and the staff were so lovely. The view was incredible! It is such a great spot, easily accessible to local attractions. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend to anyone wanting quality accommodation in Sydney.

We couldn't find the switch to the bathroom exhaust fan. But didn't bother us!!

everything was lovely ….. small issues that disappointed, such as awful tea offered at breakfast and no speakers in room to play music (as advertised) … and very few others , but thoroughly enjoyable stay

Hot breakfast offerings on both mornings were quite cold ie scrambled egg and bacon , and for a first visit not told what to do at breakfast with regard to using pantry for toast/ fruit/cereal so led to a less than good experience…. Second day we cracked it , but found food only slightly warm when hot would be nicer !! English breakfast tea very weak and not hot in the pot when bought to table …

Love the location, modernised interior, techy power points, dimmable lights, automatic window curtains, breakfast buffet, and the magnificent view of the Opera House, Darling Harbour, and Botanical Garden from the pool and gym. Staff are very nice too, especially the blonde asian lady at the conservatory

Amenities are clean and nice. We like that the pool is heated, but it could be warmer, especially during winter. A hot tub next to the pool would have been better. Sauna is nice to have, but they are hidden at the change rooms. It would be nice, too, if they were pre-heated so that guests don't have to wait 20 minutes for it to heat up.

We had a King room with a view of the opera house so this may affect the rating we’ve given the hotel. We were on a high floor, the room was very spacious, very clean and I could have stayed there forever because of the view. Incredible It was a 2 min walk to Circular Wharf so the location was brilliant. The hotel managed to seamlessly incorporate the existing old building into the newer one so it wasn’t totally bland. The breakfast was very good. We had it as part of our package but I do think 50 AUD pp is far too much for breakfast and we would have eaten out if it hadn’t been included.

Lack of anywhere to put your suitcase. Silly little cups that held nothing instead of mugs for tea and coffee.
