THE BEST stay for my first trip to Grindelwald!! Everything about this family run hotel was lovely - the people, the views, the room, the breakfast. I highly recommend to anyone that wants a peaceful stay - this is the place!! They made me feel so welcomed as a solo traveler, while checking me in late at night when my luggage was lost at the airport. This hotel felt like a home away from home. Thank you! I hope to be back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Caprice for a few nights while recently exploring Grindelwald. The room was a decent size and enough for us to spread out what we needed to. It was lovely to get some fresh air on the balcony each day and take in the breathtaking views of the mountains. Breakfast was a great selection in the morning and was a good start to the day. Location was excellent, being across the road from the train station and also only a five minute walk into town. The spa and sauna facilities are 10/10 and I wish we used this area on all days during our stay, not just the last one. I feel like this is a real hidden gem and should be marketed more 🙂 Thank you for upgrading us to the Eiger room, what a wonderful surprise on our trip that was not expected.

There was nothing we didn’t like so to speak. The beds were quite hard but this wouldn’t deter us from booking again or making a recommendation. The hill down was hard to navigate on the mornings, especially when we checked out with luggage only because it was very icy and slippery. Any other weather this would have been no problems and the hike up/down wouldn’t be an issue as it was brief.

The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. The rooms were spotless, with daily cleaning service that kept everything fresh. Given the warm weather, they thoughtfully provided us with a fan, which made a big difference. We also loved the breakfast – especially the made-to-order eggs and bacon, along with other tasty options. We stayed in the room with an Eiger view, and it was absolutely breathtaking! Highly recommend staying here for a memorable experience!

On our first day, we left the windows open and noticed a few bugs made their way into our room. Once we closed the windows, everything was fine! It seems to be part of the natural beauty and environment of Switzerland. Overall, a minor issue and easily resolved.”

Room 226 was quiet, spacious, comfortable and functional. We had a very comfortable bed, wonderful shower, skylight and a private balcony overlooking the village and the mountains. We loved the vaulted ceiling, wooden furnishings and central location. The owners were very cordial without being overly solicitous. Breakfast was buffet style, delicious and freshly prepared with local ingredients, the coffee selections served to your table. Windows in the dining room overlooked the glorious mountains - what a way to start the day! On the day we arrived and upon departure, we were offered a complimentary ride to the train station. It was a short distance but very steep so much appreciated.

Access to self service coffee before and after breakfast hours would have been nice. And although we didn’t really need it in June, air conditioning would have been appreciated. We were able to open the balcony doors at night to cool the room.

Room on the ground floor was very nice and clean, newly refurbished. I booked a small room, but it was nicely arranged, it did not feel as small. Bathroom and the rest of the room are on the same level, no thresholds (nowhere to hit one's toes when sleepy in a new space..). Beautiful views in many directions from the patio outside the room. Kind and helpful staff. Location: very close to the train station, but it is a little up the hill. This could be more challenging in winter, for some, but it provides for unobstructed view to few mountain peaks.

I wish I knew earlier in my stay that breakfast option could include fried or scrambled eggs with bacon. One can request this from the staff. I wish there was more salad/vegetables available for breakfast. Maybe that can be also requested, not sure.

The view of Eiger was perfect, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Bathroom was a good size and parking (for a small fee) right next to the hotel was nice.

A mini refrigerator in the room would have been nice, as well as a fan, since there is no air conditioning (the cool night temperatures were great for cooling the room overnight, though).

The hotel is a charming chalet-style building with interesting, cozy decor. The staff was very helpful. Alexander, one of the owners, gave us excellent suggestions for hiking and tips about the area, which we were able explore despite the rain. The hotel is located up the side of hill and had a stunning view of the area.

We had hoped the evening dining option in the hotel next door had been available, as it mentioned on the website, but the web references we researched when we arrived said it was not open. Not a big deal, just a notice.

The rooms were very spacious, having a large bed and a couch. The breakfast had good variety and awesome view. The location is 2 minutes from the nearest train station which was very convenient for travel and trekking. The staff is friendly!

The price is a bit high compared to other places we stayed in Switzerland (but might not be very high for Grindelwald). The rooms don't have air conditioning and Grindelwald gets very hot in the summer (we stayed at 33 Celsius and it was hard to sleep without opening the windows and blinds).

Beautiful room with a balcony with a view of the mountain, The room was spacious for a single. The breakfast was lovely and you had a large selcetion to choose from. The hosts were nice and helpful giving advice on attractions in the area. The location is excellant only a short walk from the station and it is a very good base for travelling to various villages and cities near to Gridelwald. I liked the green meadows surrounding the hotel and was good for relaxtion.

Right near the train station. Just off the end of the main Street but really quiet overnight. Fantastic breakfast and lovely hosts who helped with everything we needed. Spacious rooms and comfy beds.

The hotel paths to the street were a little tricky underfoot for my parents who travelled with us, but this is unavoidable during winter snow. Pillows not great
