We stayed two nights at Hotel Kreuz & Post in Grindelwald and had a truly memorable experience. The location is unbeatable — directly in front of the train station, which made arrival and day trips incredibly easy. The Coop grocery store was just steps away, and the bus terminal being right outside added convenience, though it did make the area feel a bit livelier. We booked an Eiger view room, and the view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking — waking up to that iconic peak felt surreal. The room was clean and comfortable, and although the hotel has a slightly old-fashioned feel, the exceptional service more than made up for it. A true highlight of our stay was dining at the hotel’s restaurant. The food was outstanding — so much so that we ended up having dinner there both nights. Simone, our waiter, made both evenings unforgettable with his personal touches, warm hospitality, and fantastic sense of humor. He truly elevated the experience and made us feel so welcome. This hotel offers a great combination of location, comfort, and genuine Swiss hospitality. We would absolutely love to return.

Welcoming member of staff at reception who explained everything and showed us to the place where we could unload the car. Large room with lovely modern bathroom. The hotel was in an ideal location for us wanting to explore the region by car, with a suitable car park to use too.

Unfortunately hot food items at breakfast buffet ran out quickly, but otherwise there was a good range of things available. The car park is rather awkward to get to, up a very steep and narrow road, but there are spaces at the back of the hotel where you can unload luggage.

The location is one of the main USP of this lovely hotel - literally an 80 metre walk from the train station. The hotel is nicely decorated, and Reception were very welcoming. The rooms/ lifts are split into two sides, which makes coordinating sometimes a bit interesting! Breakfast was very good. Solid selection of foods, pastries. The breakfast staff were amazing, hats off to Simone, Flavia and Ajay who made us feel extra special, remembering our breakfast needs every morning and taking the time to talk to the children. The train station is close, the main bus-stop is even closer - just across the road. The roof-top terrace has been nicely brightened up with plants. The rooms were well equipped with kettle, coffee machine, and incredible glacier water straight from the tap!

There was a slight restriction in the rooms on number of English Breakfast teabags - staff from the restaurant very kindly gave us extras in the morning to use later in the day.

Amazing views from the balcony and roof terrace. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were friendly. Niced sized bedroom, and the limited spa facilities were good. The breakfast area is big with plenty of seating, and the food is excellent.

I am rating this down due to no air con/fan. The room was very hot overnight which disturbed sleep each night, and we couldn't open the window due to the noise outside. Also poor sound proofing with adjacent rooms.

Easy access from train station. Lovely spa area. Roof terrace can be used to get lovely views of the Eiger and surrounding mountains. Food in restaurant was very good…….Balcony keeps you in touch with everything going on in the village.

Spa area smaller than expected due to some clever photography! Lifts are extremely small and therefore only two people at a time with luggage. Upon arrival bedside drawers still had rubbish left by previous guests. En-suite bathroom has opaque glass…..which I find very disconcerting as shadow of person using it can still be seen from the bedroom.

Perfect stay. Central location Grindelvald so you can walk to the train and bus station and also to the village. Super clean rooms. I loved the aesthetic of the hotel. Great breakfast. Special thanks to Simone! Super friendly staff that everymorning welcomed us at the breakfast room!

Some guest didnt follow the spa etiquete rules and I think the hotel should reinforce that.

The location and the vibe.

Everything was great up until our first breakfast my husband was still having another drink. When he went back to the seat the waiter had already packed up so he sat else where. Then the waiter came shoo him off like shooing off a bird telling him to go back to the original seat so another couple can sit there. The waiter could’ve asked nicely instead of being so rude. This gesture ruined our honeymoon.

The room is nice and clean. Most of the supplies we're provided. The location of the hotel is great! It is just besides the train station and is easy to find. From the balcony you can see the mountain which is a very nice experience, highly recommended the room with a balcony. A pity that we have no time to try the sauna. The breakfast is also really good.

The cups in the room were dirty, so I suppose they were not carefully cleaned. There was also a opened bottle of water in the fridge. The room should be cleaned up carefully.

location, comfort, cleanliness and view

The staff at the restaurant attached to it visibly made harsh nod of head in disgust (for no reason) when we were dining. Especially they were staring at us eating food right through the time that made us feel awkward. Not to mention the remarks another staff was passing to the person serving us when we asked for water. it is not a nice thing for the guest.

Good location since it is across the street from bus station and train station. Easy to walk to many restaurants and take transit to places for hiking. The Visitors pass they provide has valuable coupons-don’t forget to use at cable cars and attractions for discounts!! Very good breakfast.

The sauna is only open 9am-8pm which was limiting. A bit hot at night since it was warm and no top sheet (common on this trip but would be nice in the heat).
