The 7 ppl apartment we stayed in was sparkling clean and very comfortable. It is a 2 level apartment located at 3rd floor, accessible by elevator. The living room, kitchen, 2 separated bathrooms with toilet and one double bedded room are at lower level whereas the upper floor consists of 2 double bedded room and one single bed next to the staircase. We were traveling by car with elderly and hence the apartment was perfect for us as we were able to unload our luggages right in front of the hotel and dropped the elderly at the same time so they do not need to walk from the carpark to the hotel (although the car park is just located next to the hotel). The kitchen was well equipped with everything we need. The hotel provided 3in1 shower gel and hair dryer as well so you just need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste The rooms are equipped with heater and we felt comfortable and warm in the room. The parking place was always available during our stay in end of October. Most of all, the view from the windows and balcony was very beautiful and remarkable. The breakfast was good and the croissants, yogurt, honey, jams were one of the best we have had during our 15 days trip in Europe. Although it will be even better if they can change the breakfast menu to have different varieties but we didn’t feel bored going back for same spread of food during our 3 days stay in this hotel. We had stayed in a few 4-stars hotel during our 15 days trip in Europe but we concluded that Gletscherblick is one of the best. Oh, before I forgot, there is also a laundry area at the hotel with very reasonable charges. So, do not hesitate to choose this hotel as we will definitely go back for our next trip to Grindelwald.

The view from the room is amazing and the room is well equipped, especially we are a family, 4adults and 1 child, the top apartment with kitchen with 2 rooms but has an extra den with singe bed and 2 full bathroom given us enough space to stay.

Many people does not like its location however, we enjoyed a short hike down hill to Grindelwald station and gondola station. It takes only 10min for us. To come back to the hotel, we took a bus 121, the hotel provides a whole family voucher to use even till check out day.

* Location: The hotel is situated in a quiet area. About 10 minutes away from town center. Also with easy access to public transport: 5 minutes away from bus stop (121) or 20 minutes from Grindelwald train station. * View: The view is spectacular. But the view is great all over Grindelwald. * Breakfast: a good mix with meat based products, different types of cheese, eggs and vegan. * Room: Clean and big enough room with great view balcony. Every day cleaning service. * Parking: For those who travel by car the parking is convenient and safe.

Hotel Gletscherblick is a charming place, with a slight old-timey vibe — perched on a hill at the edge of town, very close to some cow stables. Rustic and cute. I rented a single room, which was furnished with cozy vintage pieces. My room also had a balcony. Everything was very clean, and everyone who worked at the reception desk was so friendly, kind, and accommodating. They assisted me with everything from my need to borrow an electric adapter, to my plans to visit First (thank you so much, Maria!), to my need to find a new booking when I unexpectedly decided to stay longer in Grindelwald and the Gletscherblick was full (thank you, Irene!). The breakfast was also great, with a nice assortment of cereals, yogurts, breads, jams, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, and a variety of hot and cold beverages. I was told by multiple people in Grindelwald, in fact, that the cook / the restaurant at Hotel Gletscherblick is also great, but sadly I didn't get the chance to try dining there this time — hopefully next time! Finally, I should note that the walk to this hotel from the main station is about 20–25 min. long and mostly uphill, with the final stretch(es) being switchback-style. There's a bus that runs often (roughly every 15 min.), with the nearest stop about a 2 or 3-minute walk down the hill from the Gletscherblick. Some travelers might want to stay in the downtown area itself, but personally, I loved staying in this area instead; up on the hill where the Gletscherblick is, the views are "uncrowded," and the few minutes of extra walking to and from downtown are very pleasant for the additional vistas. Not to mention that Grindelwald itself is so small in the first place that the downtown area is still super-close. Personally, I did not feel a need to use the bus — even with my luggage (a rolling carry-on and a backpack). I would gladly recommend this hotel to others and am so happy I found this place! Thank you again for a wonderful experience!

This is not a complaint, but it's an important note for travelers with physical disabilities: you should be aware of the location (see above) and make appropriate arrangements for arriving at or bringing your luggage to the hotel. The Gletscherblick is *not at all* inconveniently located, but just know in advance that everything is uphill once you exit the downtown area, and the last hill up to the hotel is particularly steep. I didn't mind this at all, but disabled travelers might want to bring a car.

All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating, such a beautiful, clean, well equipped building, beautiful food, great service, stunning views. The children were so thought of in every regard, even down to a small area with toys at breakfast to entertain them while we finished, plastic cups and plates. Our daughter loved Iwona who looked after us both nights, she is a credit to the hotel. We ate in the restaurant. We had cheese fondue the first night and the second night beef stroganoff, carbonate and pizza. Everything was delicious. We would absolutely come back! We were sad to go home. Our son is autistic so it is really important to us that there are good family friendly facilities when we travel to make things that bit easier as it can be a challenge. There were so many little ideas that were so good even down to having a dedicated table for you room number at breakfast each morning. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Nothing.

The view is breathtaking. The proximity to Grindelwald first and other places we visit. The microwave they provided is a big plus. No aircon, but there's a cool breeze in the morning and evening. Breakfast is provided, and there are lots of healthy options. Very quiet at night, and you can hear lots of birds. The room is very big for the 2 of us. The bed is comfortable and has big pillows.

Quite a hike going to the hotel, especially after a long day of walking. My husband runs in the morning whenever he can, and I need to wake up just to close the door, which can only be locked from inside. He can bring the key, but if there is an emergency, then I'll be locked inside. Breakfast at 7:30 for me is too late.

Absolutely beautiful outlook over the glacier or First. Our family room was large with great facilities and a balcony. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good. Helpful and friendly staff who let us check in early when we were tired from the journey. We had a wonderful time and would definitely come back. Thank you!

Although visitors get free bus travel within Grindelwald the buses are almost always full (at least in August). It’s a bit of a slog walking to the hotel if the weather is very hot, as it was when we visited. But on the plus side the hotel is away from the chaos of the village centre. It is a shame that the bar and restaurant are closed and the old Swiss chalet vibe is no more, but I guess it is an understandable economic reality.

We loved everything about this hotel, it exceeded our expectations. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and went the extra mile. Their kindness was the thing that stood out the most. It’s scary to be in a new country with new languages and culture but they made us feel heard and helped us with every question we had with no hesitation and only kindness. The hotel was very clean, the area felt very safe and the breakfast (included in the stay) was very very good! It wasn’t a far walk from downtown Grindelwald, we would take evening walks to get dinner and icecream and enjoyed the walk back with sunset. The view from the hotel was also absolutely breathtaking. We have no complaints and will be coming back here! Thanks for all the help and kindness!

We can’t think of anything. It was a perfect stay!

The room is spacious, basic but functional. The breakfast does not have any hot dish other than the scrambled egg but certainly feed you well and provide you with enough energy for a day’s hiking. Though, their croissants are very good soft and fluffy.

It is a bit out of the way on the edge of the town centre. If you do not drive, the only means of transport is by bus No.121 which runs once every half hour and it stops running after 6 or 6.30 pm. Or you could walk 25 minutes from the town centre. So you have to plan in advance in order not to miss the bus. Also, there are only two restaurants nearby. Many guests bought foods from Coop a the town centre and reheat it at the hotel. They provide microwave cooker on each floor.

I have been in the Gletscherblick several times, alone or with my kids. What I love about it is the exceptional location, very close to Grindelwald town and very quiet at the same time. The breakfast is fantastic and there is coffee and tea for free all day long. The hanging chairs on the terrace with the Eiger and Wetterhorn view are incredibly peaceful. Rooms are "old" but well kept and exceptionally clean.

In the past, hot chocolate was also offered for free and kids truly appreciated it - it would be great if this is back soon! Moreover, the restaurant is not working for dinner anymore so one has to walk to town.
