The authentic African features to decor . Being right on the Zambezi River .The pool was beautiful overlooking the river . Very Natural design blending with the landscape , the staff were exceptional and devoted their attention to your every need . Rooms were amazing . To have a tour organisers on hand to arrange all your activities was the best . Food was amazing with great dining options . Victoria Falls , Chobe National Park, river safari’s and a cruise on the Lady Livingston where some of the activities we did but also had time to just relax and enjoy. Put the David Livingston Safari Lodge on your place to stay for you bucket list .

Beautiful location and view of the Zambezi river, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Perfectly kept grounds and gardens. Good range of optional activities offered, which were of high class and well guided. Food was of good standard, especially the included breakfast.

The prices of the activities and shuttle services were unreasonably expensive, especially for South Africans. Despite pre-requesting an Airport shuttle none was forthcoming, and a Taxi was taken from the Livingston Airport. this was considerably cheaper however than the transport from the Lodge to the Airport at the end of our stay (US$ 20 vs US$ 46 for a 15min trip).

From the point of arrival to my departure the staff were extremely helpful and nothing seemed to be to much trouble. The facilities in the room and the hotel lived up to my expectations. There was a great range of food items from the self service buffet breakfast, fresh fruit, cereals, various breads, cheeses, ham, hot dishes with eggs & omelettes cooked in front of you as you waited, this is great if you have a large appetite or wish to take your time over breakfast whilst enjoying the view over the Zambezi river.

The TV in the room I was allocated only had 4 channels and a generic remote control, which to me was not in keeping of a hotel of this standing. I was able to reset the TV using the buttons on the TV itself and I reported this problem to the hotel.

Nestled close to the actual Victoria Falls along the mighty Zambezi River banks just 8 minutes drive from Livingstone City or the Zimbabwe & Zambia border gate. This hotel has the perfect setting to make a memorable holiday stay for your group or family. The staff was great, from the check-in process to getting settled in the rooms. Mosquito nets are standard & the staff will spray the rooms before sunset. The continental breakfast was great with beef cold meats as options for us who don't eat pork. They food menu is reasonably priced for such a prime location hotel. We extended our 2 nights stay to 4 nights in total because the place is beautiful. They own a boat, so the Zambezi River Sunset cruise is an in-house experience paid for at reception.

The concierge team can be more flexible with assisting guests with direct service providers vesus billing every tour through a third party agency. I felt it was highly unnecessary since the helicopter ride company is their neighbour (a 3 minute ride). Same thing with the Livingstone Island experience who are situated 7 minutes drive from the hotel.

The Lodge is wonderful , excellent location by the Zambezi. Stunning views and a beautiful bedroom with a balcony.

The Lodge is under major renovations and the resident boat is being renovated next to the pool area, so use of the pool area is disrupted. There are metal angle grinders being used and paint spraying all day. There was no mention of renovations on the listing. The price should be adjusted to counter the maintenance, which did spoil our time by the pool area. The boat was not operational which was one of the reasons I booked this hotel.

Wow, what an amazing lodge! We arrived early and Wendy at Reception didn’t even blink and assisted with an early check-in while we went on our rhino walking activity.. Had beautiful connecting rooms that looked out over the river. Unlike on the Zimbabwean side, food was quoted in the local currency and very affordable for SADC members. Was also less expensive to visit the falls on the Zambian side. Loved it (and the cocktail of the day every day). Restaurant next door had lovely pizzas. Booked it as a last minute deal with 55% discount.

The customer service we received from every staff member was exceptional—from the front desk to housekeeping, and even the maintenance team. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

There was some inconsistency in communication via the Booking.com app. I had to call a few hours before our arrival to confirm whether transport had been arranged as requested. I had also submitted a request through the app for the lodge to debit my account prior to arrival, but unfortunately, I did not receive a response.

An authentic, quiet hotel on the Zambezi River with beautiful sunsets. The rooms are small, clean and cozy, comfortable beds with mosquito nets. The restaurant has delicious food and excellent service. Breakfast is a buffet with a large selection of dishes. The hotel has a tourist office where we have booked many interesting excursions.

I've been writing letters every day for three days in a row to arrange a transfer from the airport. The hotel administration did not reply to my letters.

Breakfast was well presented with plenty of choice. Eggs were freshly cooked to order. There were two restaurants for dinner both overlooking the river with wonderful views of the sunset. The bedroom and en suite bathroom with separate bath and shower were spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly, attentive, helpful and knowledgeable - they really went that extra mile to make us feel at home.

There was nothing we did not like

The hotel is on the Zambezi river which allows for amazing sunsets from the pool and restaurant. The rooms are very nice with everything you would expect from this type of hotel. When we were there, they had a braai buffet which was really good as it also included local Zambian food that was delicious.

Getting into town or the airport from the hotel is a bit expensive but that can easily be sorted out using local taxis which are reliable and felt safe to us.
