The location and nearby walks, close proximity of the ferry ports, both Craignure and Fishnish, short walk to the Craignure Inn and cafes near the ferry port, spacious room with a huge bed, included use of the on site swimming pool, ample parking, friendly and helpful staff (some with better local knowledge than others).

The price! For £200 per night WITHOUT breakfast included you'd expect something special. Yes the setting is great and the hotel is spacious, but the rooms themselves, whilst also reasonably spacious, are standard format hotel rooms similar to that you'd find at a Travelodge, no 'wow' factor at all. Decaying window frames with windows that won't stay open doesn't enhance the experience either. Of the 7 places we stayed during our Scottish trip this was by far the most expensive and, while pleasant enough, was nowhere near the best - which it really should have been.

The sheets were gorgeous, The treats left for us were lovely and plenty, The staff were all excellent and it was handy having ease of access to the gardens as we had a dog.

For two mains and one starter it was over £100. We didn't have an option as everything was closed on a Monday for food. But the view and atmosphere, staff were all lovely and the food was delicious and well presented. The room was on the small side for more than one night. But there was the benefit of the hotel being dog friendly. The pool facilities were limited as they had a broken boiler. One of the reasons we booked was to have access to the hot tub. Strangely we had to book an hour for the use but it was shared with others and there was a swimming lesson on. We didn't feel it was especially spa like because of these elements at play. But over all it was a lovely stay.

Beautiful location.

Tips are added automatically on everything including drinks at the bar. You can opt out but it's awkward.

The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar/lounge area of the hotel where the menu was limited but ample for our requirements. The food was really nice and reasonable value. There was an excellent variety of food choice for breakfast too.

The cushions on the few chairs at the poolside in the spa area were wet and uncomfortable to sit on. There must be a more hygienic and comfortable seating/lounging facility available. The poolside area could do with more loungers too.

Honestly the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The room was really nicely decorated and the selection of teas/coffees/biscuits was genuinely amazing. We didn’t eat in the main restaurant as the food isn’t to our taste, however we did eat at the bar and the food was delicious. Good range despite quite a small Menü and the quality was excellent. Really nice setting in the bar area too, we took advantage of the fire as it was chilly for April. The views are stunning.

I don’t like that the sauna / steam room are charged separately. I feel that given they are fairly basic spa functions, charging additional for them is excessive. Particularly given they are small and the hot tubs weren’t working.

Good size room, well equipped, food good and staff exceptional. Oh and just a half mile from the ferry terminal.

Sadly, EV charge points did not work, and by all accounts, they have not for some time. They are run by Chargeplacescotland who run most of the charge points on the island, but only one is actually working and it is at the ferry port. It's not really the hotels fault, but it was a big inconvenience when we chose the hotel on that basis.

Everything! The staff did more than their job! Friendly, funny and could not do enough! The breakfast!!!! Probably the best breakfast ive eaten in a hotel. Loved the buffet style and table service after! They had a separate dairy and gluten free section…for me this was such a relief! The rooms, loved the decor so much! The plates and saucers were each uniquely designed. Never had time to visit the leisure facilities..thus time! Really excited we could have hired bikes too. Just ran out of time. Only regret was not having dinner there as on walking past the steak looked amazing. Definitely returning!

The location was a bit of a drive to the port to see other islands. However i would visit for the hotel alone!

The room was lovely. Bed comfortable. We arrived late, as we were cycled from Tobermory via B8073 & B8035 (long very scenic route), so missed the dinner booking but we had nice fish and chips in the bar area instead. The food and drinks were delayed, as I believe was due to an unexpected staff shortage. Breakfast was excellent.. plentiful, full Scottish and great view of Craignure harbour; staff ultra efficient. I got up early and used the swimming pool and sauna and both were fab. The attendant was very nice and helpful. Handy that the hotel is very close to the Oban ferry. The ferry was very good with good facilities and efficiently run.

Bicycle storage was limited so my wife and I had to use a lamppost to secure our bicycles. More semi circular storage hoops are needed so as to expand the bike parking. Ideally the bicycles should be stored in a secure building.

The staff and food make this hotel. All the staff were efficient, friendly and very helpful. I had let the hotel know I am coeliac and our room had gf snacks on the tea tray, when we went for dinner I just had to say our room number and I was given the gf menu and when ordering extra care was taken. The food was fantastic. Same again at breakfast. The maitre de in the restaurant was fabulous, nothing was too much for her, lovely lady.

Wanted to go for a swim before dinner but the pool was in use for primary school lessons. Fantastic that the kids get lessons just bad timing for us as it was the only time we could use the facilities.

Beds were super comfortable though room was slightly on the small side. Fantastic having access to spa facilities and swimming pool, although the hours are quite short so we'd missed out by the time we got back from exploring the first night. Staff at reception were excellent, and really appreciated that the snacks and water in the room were replenished each day. We walked to and from the ferry port in Craignure.

Service in the lounge was slow. Had to queue for a while to order, then quite a long wait for food to arrive. Asked for a box for leftovers which never came, gave up waiting and had to stand in the queue at the bar again to get a box. Food felt overpriced for what you get, although not many other options close by (as we were on foot) and bus timetables meant we couldn't really eat anywhere else and get back without a taxi.
