The location and nearby walks, close proximity of the ferry ports, both Craignure and Fishnish, short walk to the Craignure Inn and cafes near the ferry port, spacious room with a huge bed, included use of the on site swimming pool, ample parking, friendly and helpful staff (some with better local knowledge than others).

The price! For £200 per night WITHOUT breakfast included you'd expect something special. Yes the setting is great and the hotel is spacious, but the rooms themselves, whilst also reasonably spacious, are standard format hotel rooms similar to that you'd find at a Travelodge, no 'wow' factor at all. Decaying window frames with windows that won't stay open doesn't enhance the experience either. Of the 7 places we stayed during our Scottish trip this was by far the most expensive and, while pleasant enough, was nowhere near the best - which it really should have been.

Beautiful location.

Tips are added automatically on everything including drinks at the bar. You can opt out but it's awkward.

Honestly the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The room was really nicely decorated and the selection of teas/coffees/biscuits was genuinely amazing. We didn’t eat in the main restaurant as the food isn’t to our taste, however we did eat at the bar and the food was delicious. Good range despite quite a small Menü and the quality was excellent. Really nice setting in the bar area too, we took advantage of the fire as it was chilly for April. The views are stunning.

I don’t like that the sauna / steam room are charged separately. I feel that given they are fairly basic spa functions, charging additional for them is excessive. Particularly given they are small and the hot tubs weren’t working.

A fantastic location for this peaceful hotel, just 10 minutes from the ferry terminal. It has a gorgeous beachfront setting, we had a great time and I loved the fairy trail just outside. The spa was also good, I had a lovely massage, and the decor of the hotel is lovely.

The hotel staff are trying their best to give you a great time, but generally gave off a slightly harassed attitude, no matter how small (or normal, for a hotel of this price point) the request. The hotel pool is also essentially the main public swimming pool on the island. If you're booking expecting a spa, just bear in mind you will likely have one small lane to swim in, as the rest of the pool is often used for kid's swimming lessons.

The hotel layout really made the most of its location - rooms had great views. The staff at the hotel were well trained and very professional at all times. The food was excellent especially the bar meals which were consistently good and excellent value for money. The hotel was very comfortable, seating.beds , and practical- good non slip showers , good quality towels and beading. Attention to detail really made our stay memorable- radio in the room, snacks replenished daily but especially the warm friendly and helpful staff. Location, location ! Easy to discover the delights of the island north and south and easy access to ferries.

I chose this hotel because it had high ratings and a reasonable price, was close to the ferry crossing as well as the two golf courses on Mull that we wanted to play, and thought that the spa would be a nice amenity. Frankly, it exceeded my expectations of a nice 4-star property as it comes across as a 5-star place. We especially appreciate the stunning views where you could sit looking over the ocean with you breakfast, snack or drink and hope to see in the distance one of the otters who frequent the area.

The spa was a bit underwhelming. The massage treatments were fluffy, barely working the skin never mind the muscles (though my wife said that hers was a little firmer). The pool, steam room and sauna are all perfectly functional but reeked more of a community leisure centre facility.

A great location for the ferry port and a beautiful view. The welcome was very friendly and the rooms and other facilities were very high standard. We especially loved the use of local products everywhere including the rooms. The bar menu was good as were the drinks. Breakfast was especially good value for money and was plentiful and delicious.

The only issue we experienced was a shortage of staff at breakfast. The staff there were friendly but disorganised. This is more of a management issue which I suspect was due to staff shortages or absences. We helped ourselves to menus, found our own table and nabbed someone to make an order (the food arrived quite quickly) but we shouldn't have had to. Three separate staff visited our table, two of whom had no idea where in the ordering process we were and tried to clear our table before we had ordered. There was an air of headless chickens and other diners were losing their sense of humour. I felt sorry for the staff as I felt they were trying really hard and remained friendly and professional

Wonderful Stay at the Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit. A special thank you to the lovely woman in the spa who went out of her way to provide toys and a float for our 9-month-old son – it made a big difference and kept him happily entertained! Our meal at the restaurant was very good – great food and atmosphere, with beautiful views to match. The only small disappointment was that I had requested an anniversary plate for guests who were with us, and unfortunately, it wasn’t delivered. That aside, everything else was excellent. Overall, it was a very good experience and I would highly recommend the Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa to anyone visiting the island. A great spot to relax, recharge, and take in the stunning surroundings.

It is on the expensive side compared to other hotels on the island. However it was a fantastic stay.

The suite was lovely and spacious for ourself and our 2 dogs. Patio doors onto patio with jacuzzi with stunning views. Gifts and blankets for the dogs which was a lovely touch. Room was bright and clean and quiet. Nice friendly staff doing their best. We never used the spa as we had our own private area to relax. The downstairs lounge was a nice place to sit for drinks and the pizzas were fabulous. You need to order at the bar before going downstairs which we didn’t know at the time. I would definitely stay there again.

Breakfast service had some small problems. Tables were not fully set before guests arrival tea cups in particular. The staff then had to waste extra time sourcing extra items for the table both mornings. When a table has been cleared it should be fully reset by the same staff to help the waiting staff take menu orders. There was also a very loud argument between staff in front of guests. This was a little embarrassing for the hotel but I’m sure management sorted it out for it not to happen again.

The staff at this hotel were exceptional - great, friendly service from check in to check out. The view from the room and the bar area was stunning. The room was very comfortable with good tea/coffee making facilities. We are in the bar area and the menu choices and the food were excellent, as was the breakfast which we opted to pay for as an extra.

I felt for a double room, without breakfast, £218 was quite expensive. The pool is open to the community as well as guests, and although there is a sauna and steam room too, to call it a 'spa' is a stretch as the relaxing areas are very limited. Looked at the treatment list and thought they were over priced.
