Good location a short walk along the seafront from both rail station and ferry. Bus stop opposite if going to Fort William etc. On the main road but was not disturbed by traffic at night. Communal kitchens well equipped and breakfast items for purchase are reasonable price, or can use guest fridge to store your own items. Towels were big and fluffy- bath sheet rather than standard towel size, which was great. Room was faithful to photos online. Small double but as advertised and had everything I needed. Oban is generally expensive so his was a decent value option.
Hygiene bags were provided in bathroom but weren't restocked during stay. Odd smell when using shower. Main door (controlled by entry code) seemed like it had been damaged at some point and didn't always feel securely fastened. Floor into bathroom was squeaky and toilet flush very loud- was worried about disturbing other guests. No USB chargers on sockets- only standard 3 pin plug fittings. Window was very tall, was difficult to position curtain to block light fully.

Location was very good, right on the harbor so you could watch the boats and ferries come and go. Our room was very quiet but my sisters' room was over the pub which had live bands Friday and Saturday nights. They had warned us ahead of time and my younger sister said it was good music. Second night she used ear plugs which the guest house provided. The staff were very friendly. The Guest House had large communal kitchens, one in each section, fully equipped and stocked with eggs, bread, butter cereals and more with an honor payment box. Everything was clean, especially the tartan carpet on the stairs. Really nice town with lots of good fish restaurants.

My room was a single bed with a private bath and a sea view. The view was spectacular and the bathroom was wonderful. The room itself was very small, but this didn't matter at all. There was a problem with my window not closing about which the "housekeeping" (I am not sure who) was very professional and attentive. The community kitchen exceeded my expectations. I was easily able to keep my things in the fridge which was roomy and clean. Breakfast was self serve and excellent. I could have made eggs, ham and cheese and there were all of the usual other breakfast foods. The location was an easy walk to the ferry, train station and shopping street. Groceries were easily accessed nearby, and I also walked to the other side of town and saw at least four major grocery stores. The wifi was great. I will definitely stay here again when in Oban.
The front desk staff came up from the pub below. This seemed to be confusing to people who had just arrived. Be prepared for this when signing in. You might need to go down to the pub to get a reception person.

You cannot fault the location & sea views from 3 big windows in our room. The room & bathroom were immaculate, the bathroom had a powerful shower. Bed extra comfy. Plenty of space & considering it was over a pub, the noise was actually less than I imagined but it didn’t have live music so it may be a different story then. The communal kitchen was also spotless & well equipped. Tea/coffee was complimentary but no notice to say if we could use the milk or had to buy a carton.
Being hard of hearing, it was not nice to be asked if I couldn’t even remember 4 numbers because I asked for the door code to be written down. It was downright embarrassing & I did not like being laughed at as I tried to explain. I was cut short by yer another memory ‘joke’ from the young man at reception. We almost walked out. The doors swing shut very hard which can be difficult to control if you are a little weak.

The room was very comfortable. it was a bit cold when we arrived and I wasn't sure how to control the heater. The kitchen area would have been good if we had been staying for more than one night. It closed at 10pm a bit early if you wanted a night time drink. I would have preferred a kettle in our room. We brought one with us. It said there would be kettles in the kitchen that we could use but didn't see any. Good shower, great towels and we had been given a room away from the live music in the pub which was great. Didn't hear a thing. There was no bulb in the bedside light so we asked if we could have one. As the bar staff were responsible for everything this didn't happen. We said if they gave us a light bulb we would put it in ourselves but though we were promised one it never happened. We enjoyed our meal in the bar the wine at £7 a glass was a bit too pricey. We spent an hour in the bar from 10-11pm which was entertaining. Their staff are brilliant work really hard. would stay again if I was back.
Finding our way in was a bit confusing. The bar staff were rushed off their feet and having them to take new arrivals to their rooms was a bit much. I was puzzled that we got one key for the outside door and our room. Does this mean that everyone has a key that opens all the rooms? hard to tell as the outside door was always open. Code for the inner door. The kitchen area is a great idea but 10pm closing is too early for people who might want a hot drink when they come in after 10. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Good price for a Saturday night. No hot water in the en suite wash basin though the shower was good.

Convenient for the ferries, trains, buses and shops and very easy to find. The staff were friendly and helpful. The shared facilities in the kitchen and lounge were very good, our bedroom was big, comfortable and quiet and the whole place was spotlessly clean. The bar beneath the accommodation was one of the best in town, and, even with live music we remained undisturbed in our room.
There are a few stairs which could be awkward for some people but as a sprightly 62 year old we had no problems, and the staff did offer to assist if needed.

I really enjoyed walking in to the room and smelling cleaning products. It instantly put my mind at rest that we weren't going to be met with any grime and dirt. The cleanliness was too notch. The hosts were brilliant at accommodating our needs and communicated clearly before we arrived.
Tea and coffee facilities were available until 10pm downstairs in the kitchen but, as our event at the Highland Music and Dance festival ran late, we didn't get back until 1030. The rooms could benefit from these facilities being within the rooms as we really missed them.

- The room (& the rest of the house) was very clean and well-presented when I walked in - The room was spacious with great view, and toilet / bathroom facilities were handy even if shared with another room - The house has an excellent location on Oban's promenade, max 10 mins walk from the ideal centre of town, with great sea views and next to a bus stop for further exploration of the area - Well-equipped shared kitchen - Lovely lounge with original Victorian features - Staff were really attentive and polite
- Nothing of significance, the live music at Markie Dans didn't personally affect me but one to consider if staying Fri/Sat/Sun

Corran House was a great place to stay. Could not fault the cleanliness and the facilities for a hostel type accommodation. The kitchen was fully stocked and also had breakfast supplies which was an honesty system, so good. We had a four bed room and it was very comfortable especially for the same family. Lovely sitting room to read or play supplied board games. Short walk to the centre, bus, rail and ferry. Markie Dans pub was good for a beer and food was pretty good too. There was music throughout the night but we were advised numerous times by the property and they also supplied earplugs. No problem at all.
Great stay!

Great location opposite the ocean and very easy short walk to town centre. The rooms and communal areas were spotlessly clean and it was nice to have a communal kitchen to make breakfast. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly want for either a fully cooked or continental breakfast. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
The room we stayed in was a twin room which although spotlessly clean it was a bit basic with very little storage for clothes.
