The room was nicely decorated, but the bathroom. We got a loch view, which I would highly recommend, as the view was beautiful. Breakfast was a nice selection and included in our rate. Hotel was about a 10minute drive into Oban We had our dog and the hotel was very dog friendly. She was allowed in the bar area, which we thought was a nicer area for breakfast (and she got a sausage in the morning which she loved). The staff said there was a walk round the back but we didn't do it.

There were sheep in the field with the Loch across the room, and the grass area wasn't secure, so we couldn't let the dog off off. For us the dinner and drinks menu prices were very expensive so we ate elsewhere. Drinks wise it was £7.50 for a can of beer and £10+ for a single G&T. The bathroom, although beautiful, was a lot smaller than expected. It was tight for one adult to stand and dry themselves. There are no fridges in the rooms.

This property was GORGEOUS. We stayed for 2 days and did not have to leave property as you can get everything you need right on the hotel grounds. The hotel overlooks a pretty loch and has a beautiful front yard with chairs to enjoy a sunset drink. The room is spacious and enjoyable with a comfortable bed, wonderful shower, and great coffee/tea station. The food is INCREDIBLE from breakfast until dinner. Top notch chef and menu! The lobby has games and sometimes live music so you can enjoy after dinner for a while. The staff is so beyond friendly and we wanted to extend another night but the hotel was full. However, one of the staff, Mark, suggested where we to stay next and it was perfect. Can’t wait to be back!

The room was spacious and the beds and linen were exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast which was included in our booking was very good, the service was a little disjointed and the juice wasn't great but the staff went out of their way to assist us in a pre-order to get us out of the hotel super early. Overall this is a fantastic place to stay if you are looking for a comfortable place to rest. I am super fussy as ex-hospitality so can be over critical. Room for improvement service wise but overall great place. One other positive is the room tv gives access to a wide selection of channels and you can log in to your netflix etc if wanting to chill. Bathroom also very good, better with robes.

Breakfast Juice

The location on the West Coast of Scotland is beautiful. The hotel is warm and welcoming and very comfortable. Our room was very nice with a lovely view over the Loch. We celebrated our 30th anniversary and the hotel arranged a beautiful bouquet of flowers as requested. It was also Burns Night the hotel arranged a lovely evening of local tales and folk song. There is a hot tub which you can book for £10 but we didn’t make use of it.

The hotel was unexpectedly busy due to Storm Euywan. As a result there was a shortage of towels in our room and it took a while to get that sorted.

Upon arrival we were met by the hotel valet and then the reception staff, everyone was very welcoming and friendly (not stuffy at all). We were only staying one night and wished we had booked for 2 nights as would have loved to have spent more time at the hotel. We ate in Oban so cannot comment on the food at the hotel but I did overhear other guests and they were very happy with the food and service being provided. We booked the hot tub which is chargeable at £10 per room but make sure you book at time of booking your stay. We booked for 9.30am and it was so relaxing and peaceful, robes and slippers are provided by the hotel as well as towels and they offer a bar service too. The manager Stephanie was a delight and took time to talk to all guests, all the staff were lovely and we cannot wait to go back again. The hotel is set within a beautiful setting and a 15 minutes drive from Oban which is busy, so staying at this hotel gives you the best of both worlds.

I cannot think of anything that would have made our stay better, apart from we wished we had stayed longer.

This hotel has been recently refurbished and was just beautiful. The room was spacious with everything that you need for a very comfortable stay. The bed was really comfortable and the towels so soft. The bar area and live music in the evenings with the log burner was just lovely. There was an excellent menu and attentive staff. The location just south of Oban was perfect and there was plenty of parking. I am more than happy to highly recommend this hotel to travelers.

Hard to put anything negative really. We had a rear facing room but we could see the birds coming to the bird feeders on the tree. A lake view would have been amazing.

This Highland country house hotel is a lovely place. Tastefully decorated with a peaceful aura. Well located with views over loch. Tranquil feel. Room was lovely. Dinner was tasty. Nice lounge to relax with a drink. Staff friendly. Parking right outside. I’d stay here again.

There were a few things that could be improved. Quite a few things on the food and drinks menus not available; ground floor room was far too hot at night despite turning off heating and unable to open window; squeaky floorboards in upstairs room made it noisy in my downstairs room. Despite these minor issues, I enjoyed my stay.

Beautiful hotel and garden. The room was very comfortable, a good size and clean. Nice shower We had our dog with us and he was provided a bed and bowl. The bar was dog friendly but we decided to let him sleep while we went for our dinner and breakfast. The evening meal was very good and the waiter extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent also. Walks for the dog were great, (no paths except on the grounds of the hotel). We went up the hill behind the hotel to a beautiful view, which was nice walk for the dog too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely consider staying again.

Nothing not to like.

We liked Knipoch hotel, located across from the lake with a view of the lake. Has a nice bar and lounge area. The rooms were small but well equipped. The bathrooms were recently renovated and modern. Liked the heated floors and heated towels. Also liked the scones (home made) that were available at the lounge.

The rooms were warm and although a fan was provided, it did tend to get quite hot at night. Also would have liked an a la carte breakfast offering as both the continental or full breakfast options were expensive and too much food.

Lovely 4 star hotel with sea views just 15 minutes from Oban. Very friendly local staff who gave lots of advice about the local area and wildlife. The rooms are quite large and comfortable with Scottish interiors and renovations finished in 2024. There are 2 lounge areas with a wood fire for use also in the day time. Breakfast was served at the table on the breakfast room (extra cost). The restaurant food was very high quality and good value with the same menu for lunch or dinner. Well located for walks and visits with the possibility of seeing wildlife although you would be best with a car. Highly recommended I would love to go back in any season !

Take plenty of time if travelling to/from Glasgow or Edinburgh for the winding road and for the views. There is no lift to the first floor although rooms are available on the ground floor.
